Christine mentions smaller venue tour.
God, what a dream come true. A smaller venue.. probably very high ticket prices (who cares).. With McVie/Buckingham/McVie/Fleetwood.
An amazing set list. Extremely artistic.. and no fake relationship with the ego maniac. Please Stevie.. say no!! Now I'm getting excited. :]:] |
Yeah, Stevie can't wait to have a stage free of the ego maniac when she starts her solo tour.

Having said that, I feel they could really sell some shows for the fans that want the intimacy and not the meglomania. It would be exquisite. |
As a fourpiece. If you really mean that, so no extra musicians, I'll probably fly over the pond for it. Again, for X-sake.
|
I have no words! :] :]
This is incredible! Fleetwood Mac Minus One tour! We would actually not only get the album of new mac songs but get to hear 6-8 of them live in small venues!?! Wow!! And all that before their final cashgrab GH tour begins! |
I would be much more interested in this than an arena show with the five plus all the backing musicians. A smaller venue show with just the four of them would be a real concert, not a stage-managed multi-media event.
|
I'm glad that she is talking about doing both a smaller venue tour and then another arena tour. It would allow the smaller venue tour to be specifically focused on the new music and deep cuts (stuff they can't or won't do as much of in a big arena show).
|
She also said the following on a radio interview a few days ago: "there are little off-shoots from the band, Lindsey and i started to make a new studio album"
|
So what exactly did she say?
|
I hope they do it , and if a new Fleetwood Mac record with stevie never happen due to her obstinance it will be part of her legacy not theirs

OMG OMG OMG, let it be true!!!!!!!!!!

This is too good to be true.
I just bet Christine is using the press like Mick....putting Stevie on notice. But good Lord, I could only dream of the set list. I doubt it would happen but dream on silly dreamer. |

there might be backup musicians, no backup singers for 4/5. |

While stuck at work the other day, I watch a few recent Youtube videos, and maybe he was having a bad night, but it was bad. Hardly any range left... edit- I will agree that I saw him solo in Nashville, 2-3 years ago, and I was very surprised with how strong he was that night. |

i think he has to adjust the key and range when singing old songs with Mac / Stevie so that it works for her. but on new songs and solo he sounds really strong. since they'll be doing new songs, he will sound good. if they really do this tour, i might skip the GH world tour all together! |

exactly why she shouldn't be cobbled on to this new release at the last minute. her fans will hate it anyway - just like they did EP, and it will not be cohesive just like EP wasn't with her ancient song added on the last minute. |

Please let this happen.

It's interesting to note that the McVie/McVie/Buckingham/Fleetwood quartet incarnation of Fleetwood Mac is only estimated to fill "smaller sized venues". This possible venture is being sold as "artistic" and "intimate".
The McVie/Nicks/Buckingham/Fleetwood quartet incarnation of Fleetwood Mac back in '02, '08 and '13 was still selling out major arenas. At the end of the day, Fleetwood Mac knows where their ticket sales stand---it comes in the form of an airy fairy chiffon head called Stevie Nicks. That being said, none of these people really need the money, with the exception of Mick, who has always been cash hungry. So, bring on the artistic tour. I'd be happy to buy a ticket and any new Nicksless music that it promotes. I still say that Stevie's ego will not allow her to sit out. I vote she mails in 3 songs by the end of the year that the Mac will start producing with her laying down vocals for 10 days in the first quarter of 2017. |

Prince was alternating between 300-seat clubs and large arenas, selling out both. Bryan Adams is doing small theater tours one year, followed by arena tours next year. as a fan, i WANT to see my favorite performers in intimate setting. as a fan i don't want to pay $150+ for crappy seat in arena to hear my favorite play 12 songs. Pretenders fans are not happy and are saying Chrissie has sold out after talking how she despises arena tours and would do only intimate venues. |

I agree. Leave the old goat to her cud, and let them shine like they deserve to! "Goat free, as free as the wind blows...." |

Smaller concerts could mean a show in venues such as PNC Bank Arts Center or Coney Island Amohitheater. Those venues are less than 20k. If they're going to play a venue such as The Chicago Theatre or Constitution Hall, I can't imagine they would charge less than $150 for orchestra seat. Christine would be with them so the demand is there and they'll want to make something! I also would imagine Mick would sell his meet&greet ticket packages.

once in a lifetime tour that it it happens will be completely unique chance to see, never before and never after! |
Would they do like a 30 city US tour? I can't see Mick excited to play a place like Irving Plaza unless he's getting well over $200 a head!
I could imagine them doing multiple nights at venues such as Radio City, Fonda, Wang, Constitution Hall, Kimmel Center, Caesars Colosseum, Aragon, Cobb Center, Dodge, Nokia, Mohegan, Bellco, Ryman, etc. I hope Chris would do her Mirage and Tusk songs in addition to new stuff. |

i think they'd probably do a smaller tour, maybe just a few main markets? 10-15 dates all together? it would be really rare and special. i do feel like we are dreaming! |

FM could fill Irving Plaza with 4 people; they could fill Radio City with 4 people; could they get 13k to buy tickets for a FM 4/5 show at MSG? |
Quote:
i was thinking more like Warner Theatre than DAR Constitution Hall in DC. Prince did 2 sold out shows in one evening at Warner Theater a bit over a year ago, it was pretty spectacular. i guess Constitution Hall would be more the appropriate size but i want smaller. they can charge more and make the same amount, but event would be more special. EDIT: on the second thought, you know what they could do? concert halls!! they have great acoustics (unlike theaters which were not built for rock shows; clubs of course are usually great) so the sound could be incredible, and they are nice size but still intimate. Chris Cornell played Strathmore in Bethesda, Sydney Opera, and Royal Albert Hall on his recent tour and he raved how great these venues were. of course his tour was acoustic, but still, it should work? |
Quote:
we want intimate 4/5 tour though. if they start doing arenas like MSG they'll find excuses on how many hits they need to do, instead of new songs and deep cuts. |

And I live a mere 12 minute walk away... BRING IT! lol |
