Songs You Want to Hear on 24K part 2?
Not sure if this has been done yet, but if not, what songs would you most want to hear on 24 Karat Gold Part 2 if it ever comes around? Mine would be as followed:
One More Tomorrow The Mix-Down Jimmy, Come On Back Not Make Believe (TISL Demo Version) |
Oh, the list is so long but 'Julia' is the one I've been dreaming of the most.
|
China Doll
Gold and Braid Space Needle Goldfish and Ladybug Kevin And I would pay to keep Not Make Believe off of it. :) |
The Wild Heart
Bella Donna Nothing Ever Changes Sleeping Angel Sable On Blonde Nightbird |
All Over You (for Prince a dedication......)
At the Fair Beautiful Ghost Chanel, Chanel City of Hope Dial the Number Have No Heart It's Not a Dream Joan of Arc Julia Night Gallery Ooh Baby Prettiest Girl in the World Space Needle Tied Up in Promises |
Space Needle ... in all its glory
Something Exquisite Baby Doll Beautiful Ghost Prettiest Girl in the World Dial the Number Forest of the Black Roses Have No Heart and I second the motion for the TISL version of Not Make Believe (even though I love the SYW version) :D |
1. "Night Gallery"
2. "Forsaken Love" 3. "China Doll" 4. "Something Exquisite" 5. "Joan Of Arc" 6. "Spinning Wheels (Christian)" 7. "Rock A Bye Baby" 8. "Sanctuary" 9. "Castaway" 10. "Mirror, Mirror" 11. "City Of Hope" *** I'd add "Julia" to the list if I thought she could do a better version than the "Bella Donna" outtakes but sadly I think that's an "Impossible Task". (see what did there? ;)) I think either take 9 or take 12 of "Julia" from the Bella Donna sessions need to just be released as is...because it's already such beautiful perfection. It should go on the next (or last) Stevie boxed set or on some deluxe version of "Bella Donna". Everytime a new Stevie or Mac album is in the works, I always post that "I could die a happy man if she records (fill in the blank). She's always recorded one or two of my absolute favorites since then. Sometimes I've adored them (ATBW, Running Thru The Garden, 24KG, Moonlight, Watch Chain, IYWML, Sorcerer) and sometimes I've been underwhelmed (Goodbye Baby, Blue Water, Smile At You, Planets, Annabelle Lee). Just my opinion, as always. It's always a crap shoot, isn't it? Whether or not they will turn out great or not? But whatever the outcome...I WILL DIE A HAPPY MAN if she does something with "Night Gallery", "Something Exquisite", "Sanctuary" and "Mirror, Mirror". |
I also am curious to hear some songs that never surfaced in demo form (ex. Hard Advice). Wasn't there a planned album in the early to mid 90s that included songs never heard of before? I think one was called "Just Like Jesse James" (not the Cher song either).

So many gems lurking in those vaults and f2thefox said, probably a lot we're not even aware of . I'd love to hear:
Julia (who wouldn't, it's such a beautiful song and you can tell she loves it and worked hard to make it great, Jimmy didn't agree ;) You Like Me ( a great song she didn't give enough time to really flesh out, could've been a nice rocker for Rock a Little and maybe even saved the record.) Sanctuary ( really nice Bella Donna Esq tune) Baby Doll (wondering why it was abandoned, had a really cool vibe to it. China Doll (very pretty song) Forest of the Black Roses Mistaken Love Space Needle an old Fritz tune, how about See the World Go By Farewell Failure Mirror Mirror (almost made it through the early 90's powerhouse voice she had during the period) Joan of Arc Night Gallery Something Exquisite Mix Down (had another title but can't think of it right now, great tune!) Jimmy Come on Back (hopefully he produces it.) |
The dressingroom Wildheart redone.

When was the demo of "Mix-down" recorded? I always assumed during the "Street Angel" sessions, but I also heard it was recorded in 1988?
|
1. Three birds of Rhiannon
2. Night Gallery 3. Forest of Black Roses 4. Forsaken Love, Mistaken Love 5. Julia 6. China Doll 7. Have No Heart 8. Love You Enough 9. Baby Doll 10. Joan of Arc 11. Space Needle This would be an atmospheric, dark album. What Stevie does best. Lots of pretty songs. |

I'd rather get a remastered Bella Donna!
24 Karat part II Julia Sanctuary Forest of the Black Roses These are the must haves. Maybe Forest should go on new Fleetwood Mac record. |
I've kept track of various comments Stevie has made about her set list- here's what we know:
1) In recent TV appearances, she sang Landslide, Edge of Seventeen, and Leather and Lace. So it makes sense she'll sing those songs on her tour. She also said she wants to shorten Edge. 2) She mentioned Rhiannon, Dreams, and Gold Dust Woman. 3) She mentioned Stand Back, Rooms on Fire, Moonlight, and Soldier's Girl. 4) She said she'll do "bits and pieces" of Bella Donna and "maybe" the Wild Heart. That's 12 songs so far. 5) Maybe 4 songs from 24 Karat Gold. Stevie has given no indication which songs from 24 Karat Gold she will sing. That would equal 16 songs so far. 6) Considering this is a double bill, Stevie's set will be between 90-100 minutes. Did I leave anything out? What do you think about this set? |
^^^ Wrong thread.
