What has Stevie been doing?
We all know that Stevie has been pretty generally absent since the end of the FM tour and it had me wondering. Has she been prepping another album? SFTV2 or something different? Let's face it, Stevie is not one for putting her feet up for months so I bet she's done some studio work for something.
What I do know is that HAIM have an album coming out really soon and it'll be brilliant because their last one was fantastic and I wondered if maybe Stevie will appear on that. It would be so cool! I hope I'm right with my assumption. :) |

Going her own way! As she should! I hope she's resting and just enjoying normal life for a bit. Maybe she's reading all the baby crying that's taking place here. LOL! Seriously, she's 68 years old, it's time for her to just enjoy what creative time she has left and do what SHE wants to do. We all should be entitled to that, shouldn't we? Yay for Stevie! We treat her as if she OWES us something! She does not, plain and simple.

I hope she will tour in 2017 though, hopefully after having done Songs From The Vault 2. |

It is so refreshing to come over to this page after being on the Rumours page. There is so much Stevie hate over there right now. They act like they all know exactly what is going on and that Stevie is just a lazy ass and is the end all of FM. It is just ridiculous. I, for one, at this point would be totally fine with her saying she is no longer part of Fleetwood Mac. I would love to see her do another solo album and tour...and then just do whatever she wants.
I find it difficult to even come to this site anymore just because those people are just mean. They act like they know what is going on with a band who is well know for putting out drama to the press to keep their name out there...and blame everything on Stevie. I think she should give them what they want...and watch FM fade into the sunset with no fanfare or goodbye. Let Christine and Lindsey see what their audience looks like without her. I never thought I would have this attitude but those people are just miserable. |

She's been filling her face , or something, according to previous posts.
Joking apart I hope she's had a long lovely rest, and if she no longer wants to record with FWM so be it...... In any other career she would be long retired. I hope she does a solo Album and does a more intimate tour with that. |

Well, she's done 3 solo albums of new-ish material since Enchanted. I would love for her to do another solo album and tour it. However, before she rides off towards the edge of seventy high atop her pony, I'd love another Enchanted-like tour that would dust off some obscurities and highlight her work as a solo artist.
As for Fleetwood Mac, they need to tour a new album or risk being remembered as a dinosaur band at the ready for a cash grab! At this point, Stevie's holding the (crystal) ball and I have no ill feelings toward any of them. They have only given me aural pleasure. |

If she wants to be done, I'm fine with that. If she wants to only do solo work while she still can, I"m fine with that. If she's playing games with FM, I'm NOT fine with that. Grow a pair and say you're out if that's what you want. Being someone's fan doesn't mean you have to kiss-a$$ and never critique them. |

You say she's dreaming. I say I want her to try and do things the way she envisions them. |

As I said, I support whatever she wants to be doing. But she ought to be less ambiguous about whether she wants to continue to be in FM or not because if not, they deserve to make the album they want to make without her on it. |
Some people are so predictable and baitable. The response here was just as I expected. I am sure they think it is funny...I just find it juvenile. Bye bye Ledge. I wish you were what you used to be. I no longer desire to be part of this crap.

I created this thread as a way of creating some positivity as there seems to be an overwhelming amount of negativity surrounding the recent news that Stevie doesn't seem too keen on committing to a new Mac album any time soon.
This thread is for speculation on Stevie's SOLO CAREER so please don't bring all of that rubbish over here. It was created in order to voice some positive views on what I thought Stevie might have been getting up to. If the negative comments continue then I will close it. Negativity doesn't get you anywhere. |

I loved seeing Christine back with the band for the last tour and if that was my goodbye to the five of them together, I can live with it. They were on the top of of the box office. That's all the "fanfare" they need. Now, I'd like an album. I've wanted it for years and if Stevie is not on it and it doesn't sell (which I don't expect it to), it won't be cause for despair. Stevie's fans would welcome a tour or a second installment of 24K or, most of all, new solo music. That's great. Her pursuing her solo interests is hardly punishment for the people who criticize her. The attitude of, "If you keep complaining about Stevie, I hope you get what you've been asking for and she leaves the band and then you'll be sorry" is amusing. As for blame, I don't blame Stevie. I blame the other four for not moving on. I'm disappointed in them. Michele |

If I were her and had her bank, I'd be sitting on the beach in Kauai or where ever she goes, sipping on a latte in morning and martini at night................. |
I can only hope she's getting ready to write that long awaited book. She's still young enough to actually do a book tour and be all over the place promoting it. She's been talking about it since the 80's. I really don't want her to be so old that if/when it comes out she's not in a place where she could enjoy the reception. Not looking for the gossip about her life, just her view on her experiences, her own insecurities, her own demons, her own dreams, her perspective on life and loss. We've all experienced this through her 3-5 minute abstract songs which i LOVE, ZERO COMPLAINTS. She has just been such an inspiration through her music. I would love to hear about the real Stevie Nicks from the legend herself.

What has Stevie been doing? Only her circle knows. She's had knee, hip and back problems during the last couple of years. Maybe she's getting things treated. She has said in the past it was difficult to make doctor and dental appointments when touring. Anyone's guess is as good as another. I did see her guitarist, Waddy, is touring with Joe Walsh. It seems like The Lion King, the circle of life. So sad hearing about the loss of Glenn Frey, gone at just 67. Time makes you bolder, children get older and Stevie's getting older too. The rest of the band should push on and if she wants to join, great. But as others have said, we really don't know what is going on in their lives. I'm thrilled Christine is back. I would love to see a new album with all of them on board. I hope they get the opportunity to do it. The scare with John McVie certainly made us aware how precious time is. Maybe it helped bring Christine back. Maybe it pulled Stevie away. Maybe she has other things she needs to take care of. Maybe it includes just living, so she can get creative. Cranking out lyrics like we saw with "Cheaper Than Free" was not Stevie Nicks. I hope she takes the time to breath something into her music. Christine had many years to live and - what? contemplate the universe- during her time away. Stevie has not ever stopped touring long enough between her solo and FM time to just live. She's been supporting a lot of people--family and friends. When she's ready, I think we'll hear from her.

One thing she's been doing is laying down vocals for Sheryl Crow's new album which will be out next year. I love it when those two collab.

Great Stevie video a friend shared with me. It's from 1987: (almost totally make up free, I think. She looks great!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM81...ubM-Wrl4DIJ65e Maybe she's out there sharing crystals. Glad to hear she's contributing to Sheryl's new album. |
Stevie's been, presumably, resting, plotting her next move to serve and continue her celebrity status. She shows no interest in creating new music with Fleetwood Mac. Okay, cool. She deserves her rest, etc.
But then the rest of the four need to move on, even knowing that an album without her wouldn't sell nearly as well. They don't need the money, but they do need a creative outlet that doesn't depend on her timeline. They did this when Lindsey left, they did it when Christine left. They can do it again. Yes, it's frustrating that the full Rumours lineup probably won't ever release new music again. But I'd rather have an active band than a greatest hits touring troup rehashing drama from forty years ago. What bothers me the most is this: they all have the option to pursue what they want--Stevie on her own, the rest of the band as a band--but all five of them seem too invested in making money on oldies tours that make them more and more money from people who don't want or care about anything new. In this sense, all five of them are obnoxious. I'm interested in their artistic growth. This means new music. Let Stevie do what she wants. Move on. Move on... |

To me, it seems at this stage like Stevie would either happily record a full record and do a short tour, or record a song or two and tour for a year with Fleetwood Mac. However, she has candidly said she wants to shorten down her projects, so a full record (presumably taking over a year of her time) as well as a year or more on the road is just too much at this stage. I think, if anything, its the rest of the band who wants to keep going - be it for their legacies or their families (let's be honest, Lindsey SO wishes he had Stevie's finances so he could support K like she supports all her Nieces and girlfriends) - whereas I think Stevie would happily give up the band (for a while at least) and work on some of the projects she's discussed in the last few years. |

I'm not blaming her, but I am urging the band to move on. She is clearly scarred from working with Lindsey. While I'm saddened to learn she doesn't want to work on a new album now, I'm more eager that the remaining four do continue on it. |
This whole thing, including the Mick interview from the Rumours board, feels like deja vu: ("selfish/obsessed Stevie") I get fed up with Mick. He made "The Visitor." That was pretty much his solo career.
http://www.nme.com/news/fleetwood-mac/62632 Adam Bychawski, 15th March 2012 Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood: 'I don't think we'll ever tour again' Founding member blames Stevie Nicks' 'obsession' with her solo career for unfulfilled reunion plans. Fleetwood Mac's Mick Fleetwood has said he doesn't believe the band will ever tour together again. In an interview with Playboy, the drummer and band's founding member said that it was unlikely that the group would ever reunite to record new material or hit the road for an extended period of time because of singer Stevie Nicks' obsession with her solo career. Fleetwood, who played on Nicks' 2011 LP 'In Your Dreams', claimed that she had already scuppered plans for one reunion tour last year because she wanted to focus on her individual work, and also hinted that he didn't expect her attitude to change in the future. "I don't believe Fleetwood Mac will ever tour again, but I really hope we do," he said. "We have rehearsed it and prepared for it since 2010. We were supposed to tour in 2011, but we delayed it for a year to allow Stevie Nicks to support her solo record and for Lindsey Buckingham to do the same with his." He added: I've always been supportive of my bandmates doing solo albums, so long as we kept our band together… I played drums on most of Stevie's album, the one she is still out there supporting and the one that is the reason that, for now, she refuses to do a Fleetwood Mac tour. It comes down to her. Fleetwood went on to say of Nicks' current situation: "I understand what she likes about her situation. Touring in support of her album, she is able to be her, without any degree of compromise. She doesn't have to worry about the other three of us asking her to do anything. She has become obsessed with her album in a very nice but inconvenient way." In October last year, guitarist Lindsey Buckingham also seemingly ruled out the possibility of the band reforming to play together in 2012. Although both he and Nicks had previously suggested that they would reunite to tour and record new material, he later said was unlikely they would work together in the immediate future. ----- |
Didn't Stevie mention in an interview that she wanted to spend time decorating her new house? That it only had 4 chairs etc.
I think Mick is pretty demanding of Stevie's time. She gives an inch and he always tries to take a mile. She needs some time, however long that is to rest, relax and enjoy herself. Spend time with with her family and friends. She owes no one anything, not Mick, not her fans. I really don't care if FM releases a cd with or without her. When she is ready she will make her next move. Not a moment before. To be honest, (and I say this as a huge SN fan) it may be time for her to just retire. Save herself before she wrecks herself. She has gotten very caught up in the "hollywood image" and has gone too far with the collegen. She is starting to get the octomom/joker look and that is so disturbing to me. She was always flawless, flawed, yet flawless, and now it seems some idiot is pointing out every wrinkle and making her insecure (why else would she do this to herself?). Stevie was always confident in her image. What happened? |

There's a rumour going around that Stevie is doing a fall tour with the Pretenders. Anyone else heard that or able to confirm?
