In new interview Mick mentions tour but no album.

VERY TELLING: "We are going to Dodgers Stadium to play for the Dodgers. They are throwing a huge private party. The whole band is reuniting to do this show and not for very many people. It is like 2,000. It is really unbelievable, really. We are all getting back together and I think probably in about a little over a year from now we will be back at it rehearsing to go on what will be another big world tour which will last the better half of two years" Call me DISGUSTED! |
Oh come on now, you are stirring the pot ;)
You are taking this statement completely out of context. He was asked about the Dodger Stadium show and went on to talk about other live shows ONE YEAR FROM NOW. Christine, Lindsey and Mick have ALL stated there will be one last album. There is not one statement from any of them that retracts that statement. People need to stop reading into statements what they want to believe. Lindsey prefers the studio to touring. He believes its the best way to end the Fleetwood Mac story...one final album with the 5 key members. I think they definitely want to get a new record out before a tour next year. |
I think they are keeping the new album all hush hush on purpose.
|
Disgusted? Dude what?
A new tour is amazing news!! Yay!! Please come to Europe!!!!! Edit: Wait, will it include Stevie? Or do they sometimes tour without her? |
Thank you....

It needs to be their farewell tour. It would be a perfect send off. They had a reunion with Christine and their 2017 tour should be the farewell.
|
It was the perfect opportunity to mention new mx. Instead he talked about yet another tour. He has been spotted frequently at his restaurant lately (for the last few weeks) since his tour ended. So they are not working on anything. Sorry but I have a reason to be jaded at this point. I could care less about another greatest hits cash grab. Been there done Rhiannon a million times.

I think the silence from Stevie and Lindsey about their upcoming plans -Mac or solo- is deafening.
Mick is the only one with plans, but they wouldn't need him in the studio if he's already laid down his parts, if they are recording a new album. |

But nah- if there was any remote chance of recording anything there's nowhere else in the world Mick would want to be. He'd be right there doing all he could to mediate. As much as Mick is money-driven and lives for FM tours (or tours to live?) I really think he wants nothing more than a new album- he has a lot of pride in the FM legacy. |
Well, lets hope for some solo work then....

There are many things to stare at these days |
You know, I am starting to care less and less about them giving us, THE FANS, one last album. And, honestly, I'm really getting quite tired of Fleetwood Mac all together now. Yawn...

I thought he said they were going to start touring in the spring of 2017

Rusty believes this is the year for something big. It's all about 2017. |

him would just say he's a cockeyed optimist who got caught up in the world of touring artists and international music. 2017! |

most of the duds were Stevie's. Her stage performance on this tour equaled her performance on the album. As Alec would say "not good". |
I like SYW as one of Stevie's best solo efforts. If a new album has good Stevie and Chris stuff I would be happy. I have long since written Lindsey off as a writer or singer, his stuff on SYW and Extended Play was eeewww...
|
I loved SYW and I don't blindly love all of Stevie's stuff but I did think more of the duds on that album came from Lindsey. The tour, however was hit or miss. On one show I saw Stevie listless as any chronic fatigue patient could be and the other show she was a whirling dervish half her age. Don't know what makes the difference for her from one night to the next in terms of energy - but I certainly don't think it's lack of trying or lack of spirit per se. Lindsey is always fantastic in concert and I love them as a live band so my only wish is for a new album so that we can hear some new music on the next tour.

Off of SYW, I loved Miranda, RTTG, and Peacekeeper(PK ~at the time~, it's very dated, in retrospect, now). And I might be the only fan alive, that LOVED What's the World Coming To!!!! |

'Say You Will' is a brilliant album.
What's The World Coming To Thrown Down Steal Your Heart Away Bleed To Love Her Peacekeeper Come Illume I think this is some of their most creative work. Plus, we finally get to hear 'The Tower'. This album should be included in a remastered box set like Dave Stewart did with the Eurythmics albums. |
I was quite happy with SYW, just as I'd be happy with new material from them. I thought SYW was quite high quality, even if the overall record was oddly sequenced and at times uneven. I was still grateful to get it, just as I was grateful to get IN THE MEANTIME. That, to me, was equally relevant and engaging. New music is the key. You'll never get a complaint from me about them releasing any.
|
Say You Will has the best mixing I have ever heard. Listening to that album with a high quality head-set is like being shot through a galaxy of instruments and musical beauty.
I could really do with someone remastering FM's old work like that... The songs are classic, of course, but they sound really flat compared to modern music. Storms, etc. must sound so beautiful if the instruments didn't sound like they came from one "channel". On SYW everything comes from different directions, it's like standing in the middle of the recording. Amazing. |

wow, to each listener their own. But I don't hear that o SYW. I hear it on Rumours and very much on Tusk. |

Say You Will is one of my favourite albums, but it would be a great shame if the last ever Fleetwood Mac album was one lacking any contribution from the band's first female member.
I know that I will still do all I can to get tickets to the 2017 tour, even if they neglect to release any new music to tour behind. Seeing them in 2015 was amazing and I immediately wanted to do it again. It seems silly to me to have the bones of a new album prepared and not take the final steps to make it ready for public release. We already know that they have at least eight practically finished songs, really only lacking Stevie's vocals. Some albums are only ten songs long (and a few albums are only eight songs!), so there really isn't that much work left to do. I have a bit of a silly dream that one day I will release an album, hopefully as part of a band. I write song lyrics and have been learning piano, including song writing techniques. I know that if I had the talents and skills of any one of the five members of Fleetwood Mac, there is no way my songs would be sitting of the shelf for four years. |
