How Still My Love is pure perfection.
Lyrics - written from the heart and so powerful and revealing..... some of Stevie's best work
Music -mystifying groove that builds and builds then explodes

Several times on stage during Wild Heart Stevie would say it was her favorite song to do live. On a good night How Still My Love exploded with Stevie intensity. The part that starts "STANDING IN THE DOORWAY........" On a good night Stevie would belt this part out and bring this song to heaven live. It was the highlight of the Wild Heart tour for me. Klonopin ruined this song live because Stevie had no intensity and went through the motions. The song is full of raw emotions of a love that went wrong and was full of temptation. "They say you're not the man for me" They crying guitar and the piano playing off of it gives me goose bumps

Check out her point and little kick during the "Standing in doorway!!!!"
But most important... check out her little dance at the end of the song. So vintage Stevie in 1983 and you will see why it was the highlight of the tour for me. This clip has her grab a hat from the audience and wear it for most of the song. Stevie would wear clothes people threw on stage. In Pittsburgh she put on a hooded sweatshirt someone threw on stage. It does not get any cooler than this!

Thank you for sharing this! I completely agree with what you said. I've always loved the lyrics and her voice gives me chills when she performs it love, before the Klonopin addiction, of course...

Those first 2 tours with Waddy on guitar, Roy on Piano, and Benmont Tench on keyboards takes the song to another level that it never achieved live again.

"Standing in the doorway, watching out to sea, calling out to me.. You GO YOUR WAY sounds like she is talking about Lindsey and a response to his song Go your own way.

I am adding Dreams to my list of 25. It became so overplayed and so monotonous that I started to overlook what a great song it really is when you take all of that away.

So hard to stick with a top 15 but here it goes, in order of greatness:

1. Silver Springs (any version is superb, but the album version is one of those moments captured in time, never to be repeated; the song is the biggest hit that Fleetwood Mac never had).
2. Dreams (Fleetwood Mac's only #1 and for good reason, the song is wonderful)
3. Rhiannon
4. Gold Dust Woman
5. I Don't Want to Know (most people overlook this song, but it's up there with the best ever of Stevie's songwriting, amazing song craft)
6. Edge of Seventeen (original version, live was a bit flat for my ears, but again as above, stellar writing).
7. Landslide
8. Sleeping Angel (amazingly well sung).
9. Sorcerer (great song, that the Mac really should've done on the white album).
10. Crying in the Night (should've broken B&N into the big time, the song is that good)
11. Sara (wish I could place this higher, but the others are better)
12. Gypsy (a couplet with Sara, both great songs and superbly written and sung).
13. Gate and Garden (often this song is thrashed, but the way she sings it, wow, how to make a sloppily written song into a gem, she pulls it off!)
14. Storms
15. Blue Water (one of her best choruses, could've been a monster hit in the 75-76 period, if it had been written by then :)
