Hold Me, Gypsy, That's Alright, Only Over You, Eyes of The World, live tracks from the Mirage tour, outtakes, hopefully some rehearsals of songs they cut from the Mirage tour set list. I'm really hoping there's one of That's Alright.

There's so much material that has been floating around. To get some official tracks of all of it would be wonderful. So Excited..

I really want a decent version of "If you were my love" without the annoying fade out and in.

I'd like to hear all the Straight Backs and That's All Rights..

This is the one album from Stevie/Lindsey line up that I think has been most overdue for a remaster. I just hope they include that long version of Gypsy too ;)

I still have yet to buy it but plan on it. I'm very interested interested in Mirage. I feel like this is their forgotten album.

Although I prefer Tusk as an album over Mirage, I'm FAR more excited for this release, mainly because there are so many outtakes and rarities from this era that we are unaware of.

That, and I think it was FM's most underrated album, and the last great album from the classic lineup where everyone was contributing proportionately *ahem* ;)

That hits the nail on the head. It's the release I'm most excited about too.

I think it is the last time the Rumours lineup actually sounded like a band playing together on record. While it doesn't serve up as many classics as the previous albums, it does sound less dated than TITN. I love the warm production even if some of the songs themselves are lacking.

Mirage probably isn't the best Mac album, but there absolutely are days when it's my favorite Mac album. I know every song on it, every moment, like I know the back of my own hand. It's just so *pretty* that I don't care a bit that it doesn't rock out. Can't wait.

And yet the places it does rock a little... it's divine...

The outro of Eyes.. and the outro of Wish You Were Here... there are some jams in Book of Love. Straight Back is like a Nicks/McVie co-write...

Lots of gems in this album..

It's the album that pulled me into Fleetwood Mac. I was six when Rumours was released and remember my older sisters playing it endlessly on the stereo. I remember the premier of the Tusk video on solid gold. Those were fond memories. But it was Hold Me and Gypsy that pulled me in as a die-hard fan. Once I got the album, I was so intrigued. I knew Mirage wasn't as even or as viscerally thrilling as Rumours, which I listened to alongside it, but what it had to offer made me intrigued. I promptly began collecting all of the group's records and had completed the set long before TITN was released. It's been a long time since I first heard Mirage, but many of the songs still take me back to that place. The kids in my junior high classes mocked me for loving a "soft rock" band like Mac. AC/DC was the rage. Def Leopard was everywhere. Journey was permissible. Mac was considered too subtle, too adult. I didn't care. I openly loved them. It was the first of many stands I took in the name of taste and discernment.

My story is VERY similar. I was so young when my older cousin moved in with us, and introduced me to Rumours. I loved it so much,.... but was only starting to grow up when Mirage came along. Hold Me was the one. There hadn't been anything since Tusk, and I'll NEVER forget the first time I heard Hold Me, and that piano riff opening the song. For the next few months, I'd SCREAM at my friends(in the car), "SHUT THE HELL UP, AND CRANK IT!!!!!!!!!!". I can't wait for this reissue! And there had better be a GD Mirage DVD ~FULL F*CKING LENGTH DVD~ to go along with the music.

Seriously? Because I had Bella Donna on 8-track, but I don't ever remember Mirage being available. I was thinking that 81-ish was the end of 8-track?

Because Bella Donna was literally the LAST 8-track I ever bought.

I agree - while Tusk is my favourite album, in my opinion Stevie was in her vocal prime during the making of Mirage and the subsequent tour. The band was able to work together so cohesively on stage and it shows. Every individual contributed to almost every song in a way that I feel they didn't on the Tusk tour. Maybe its just because they had their performance more "down pat" after so many together.

I love Tango but I think Mirage is a really nice demonstration (a "last hurrah" if you will) of what the Rumours line up could do together as a cohesive band.

I disagree about her being in her vocal prime. I think by the Mirage tour, at least as evidenced by the concert video, her voice was a mess. She definitely sounded better on the Tusk tour and even better on the Rumours tour.

I got mine through Columbia House, one of those 10 for a penny deals. I'm not sure if it was available in brick and mortar stores. I think the vinyl for Timespace was only available through Columbia House too. They seemed to have some exclusive releases.

This one looks like mine. Most of the Columbia House releases had generic sleeves.

I thought she sounded great during the Mirage recording sessions and at the start of the tour. "If You Were My Love" is an example of something that could have been recorded during Tusk. I'm sure cocaine and the touring itself took a toll on her voice.

some people just love her raggedy voice during this time-- she'd lost her high end from the Rumours days for sure and couldn't do the quieter stuff nearly as well as even on Tusk but some folks really love that coked-out raspy voice-- I can see it sorta. She could still hit some highs and some lows and she still sounded like her former voice, just more washed out and whispery on the quieter or higher notes but she could still fiercely belt out the rockers-- and coupled with her hair and her behavior during this time it was quite impressive to watch. Nowadays she's so tame and reined in onstage people miss the passion she had then.

I'm very amazed by the number of people that refers to Tusk as one of the better periods for Stevie's voice.
She was over-using her voice and it shows, apart from a few exception. She often sounded strained, uneven and sometimes even off-key, in an fashion that continued from the 1978 tour. She got better but then was a bit flat and guttural in a way that evidently wasn't comfortable to her natural range.

This is my favorite Stevie period. from FMac to Wild Heart and Mirage included. I just love the tone of her voice.

That's funny, because I hadn't thought of that. Because I joined the "other" 10 for a penny place, RCA(later it became BMG?) in 1982, and ordered all cassettes(can't remember now if 8-tracks were even an option). But I NOW remember that that's when I made the jump from 8-track to cassette, was 1982.

Let's say I was 2yo in 1982. Yeah, that's it. I was 2.

And if we are really lucky, maybe they will include 10 demo versions of the same Lindsey song and not bother with all those other Stevie and Christine demos. lol

The highlight of the Tusk boxset was without question Yesterday's Tears... Would love some exciting truly new material like that.

For the most part I could take or leave alternate takes and demos, unless they are radically different from what appeared on the album.:shrug:

Yep!!! 10 demos of Empire State" or "Oh Diane" maybe both just like all the same LB demos from the Tusk set...

I wonder if the reason for the multiple versions of Lindey's tracks on the deluxe Sets is that maybe Lindsey is more into giving permission to include that stuff than Chrustine or Stevie are? For Stevie, especially, I could see her not wanting to distribute her "practice" versions any more than they already are out there. A part of trying to control her image.
