Little PhotoShop Of Stevie
Way back in the olden days of the Ledge t'was started The Stevie Of Death. A fun thread where we photoshoped Stevie and friends into horrible historic situations.
That lasted a good long wile but ran out of steam. Not a surprise as the subject matter was limited. We started drifting into other areas of shopping but that was left behind. Now I think it is time to revisit this idea but open it up beyond just the one genre. Here at the "Little PhotoShop Of Stevie" I invite any and all to participate and show off their photo manipulation skills and their sense of humor. All categories are welcome. All styles accepted. BUT! I think that there should be one rule we must agree on. No Porn images. That is anything that is deemed N.S.F.W. No hard core sex acts. Asides from that everything is open season. "Stevie Of Death" "Artsy" "Political" and especially "Funny" is welcome. So to start this off I enter the first pic of the season. A quick job but I'm very rusty at this. http://i.imgur.com/TgmIevT.jpg |

Since some people do access the board from work, let's not post nudity. Obviously, the picture was not racy and, in fact, was just a tad more explicit than the Buckingham Nicks album cover itself. But we do want to gravitate away from the NSFW.
Thanks. |
OMG
She looks like Linda Blair  |

OK decided to start back at scratch and take my time with this.
I really didn't like the way the ear was exposedand the way the art was a little too cartoon-y. So I changed it to a lower face art and added better art to the head. |

So Which one? I kinda like the one on the left. |
Yes, the one on the left. The eyes seem bigger or warmer for some reason. Michele

I have found it a pain trying to match faces with painting textures. I have to ask, who is it? Not Marie Antoinette, is it? :sorry: |
Quote:
What I did, was extract the colors from the original painting's skin, and then literally paint it on the face, blending in darker and lighter colors using the smudge tool. :) |

This brings the image closer to the background. Then in Image/Adjustment/Exposure and adjust Gamma Correction. Then under Adjustments use a combination of Hue/Saturation, Vibrancy and others. You can get very close in most cases to the background image. To match texture use a little Filter/Noise/Add Noise. But that's just me :D |

Unfortunately, though, I don't use photoshop, so I have GIMP. I will definitely try to replicate what you said though, because it sounds a lot easier lol. I'm a painter though, so it was fairly easy to hand paint it like that. The problem I had with this particular face, however, was that I wanted to use this specific polaroid, "The Dealer" one, because it matched the painting pretty well I thought. But the problem was, I couldn't match the face, because when it did, it also completely ruined the eyes and lips by distorting the colours, or whatnot. What I'm amazed by though is how seamless your faces are... The one where she's in the plane doesn't even look like it was 'shopped at all! |

Gimp is a good program and I think most of this can be done without too many problems. I'm not overly familiar with it though I have used it for some cartography work. I find Gimp has better noise and cloud fill options and can make much better random coastal areas. |
