Fleetwood mac WILL record new album says stevie

http://www.showbiz411.com/2015/12/07...lenty-of-songs

Stevie was interviewed this week with mick and has confirmed that they will record a new album and have plenty of songs

Yayyyyyyyy

Andyleo 12-07-2015 02:38 AM

This is the best news I've heard about this new album, so looks like the five fireflies will certainly be on it! WooHoo!!:]:blob2::laugh::D

MikeVielhaber 12-07-2015 02:43 AM

2003 was before this person was born?

WayOfTheDragon 12-07-2015 03:06 AM

"Stevie told me that Fleetwood Mac’s long world tour is finally over. Now they will undertake a new album. Not just the four songs they released for download in 2014. “A whole album, we have plenty of songs,” she advised. This will be most welcome."

MusicInferno 12-07-2015 07:41 AM

GREAT news!!! :)

Yesssssss.
The next question would be...when???

This was a really confusing article. At first I thought the writer had mixed Mick up with Sting. Then I thought maybe it was written by Sting. After reading it a couple of times I'm still none the wiser, though I assume Sting was at the premiere with Mick and Stevie. I'm surprised Sting and Mick never seem to have crossed paths before.

Does this suggest the EP songs will be part of the new album?
Screams 'double album'.

louielouie2000 12-07-2015 08:27 AM

I'll be damned; Hell has frozen over! I *REALLY* didn't think Stevie would want anything to do with FM for a minimum of 3-4 years after this tour was over. I thought for sure sometime after the first of the year that Stevie would announce all of the reasons she would be doing something else. Yet 2 weeks after the tour has wrapped, she's saying the album is a go! What a wonderful Christmas present!

Bet it has more to do with Christine than anything. If anyone could get through to Stevie, it's her. Or perhaps, even though tiring, she really did have a blast being with the other 4 on tour.

I share the same thoughts. She is the one person that can talk her into doing it.

jbrownsjr 12-07-2015 09:14 AM

I hope Stevie writes new material!! No more old demos... save that for Dave...

Nick 12-07-2015 09:25 AM

So happy to read this and hope the album is out in 2016.

I agree... this was my initial reaction as well. However, the website seems legit enough, and the picture of Stevie backstage with Sting seems to reinforce that the author was indeed backstage talking to her. Getty Images has multiple pictures of the two together from last night. I guess we will just have to see if other, more trusted news outlets pick up the new album story.

He's making a joke, he just meant their last album of new material came out a long time ago. If you read the whole article, it's written very informally, as a gossip columnist would write.

Glad to hear a new album is on the way!

Thanks for clearing that up. I did get the hint that it was a joke. It wasn't completely clear. Certainly want this to be true! :p

vivfox 12-07-2015 12:18 PM

I retract my hoax statement. Now that I have seen the pics of Stevie posting with the little kids from the cast of School of Rock, I realized this interview is real.

Oy, I just reread the article and learned the writer is not a kid. But I hope this is all true. I want it to be true.

Fannymac 12-07-2015 12:28 PM

I'd like to see a standard version and a deluxe version, the deluxe including the EP songs redone with Christine.

MusicInferno 12-07-2015 12:53 PM

Oh so this was really written by a kid from the cast, then it makes sense!

stevienicksfan1 12-07-2015 04:00 PM

Just to clear things up the columnist is being sarcastic and most definently making a joke at his own age and also the fact that its been so long since their last album

This article is certainly not a hoax

Stevie Nicks: Fleetwood Mac Will Record New Album, Group Has “Plenty” of
by Roger Friedman - December 7, 2015 1:19 am, Showbiz 411

So: Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood were at the Broadway premiere of “School of Rock” Sunday night. Why? In the movie, Stevie’s “Edge of Seventeen” is cited and sung. In the musical, too. Big discussion of Stevie and Fleetwood Mac in the show, which got a lot of laughs from people in the audience who knew they were in attendance.

Backstage, Stevie told me the first time she knew “Edge of Seventeen” was in the movie, she was at home by herself with Sulamith, her hairless Chinese Crested, and watching TV. “I couldn’t believe it,” she said, “and I had no one to share it with but her.”

Stevie told me that Fleetwood Mac’s long world tour is finally over. Now they will undertake a new album. Not just the four songs they released for download in 2014. “A whole album, we have plenty of songs,” she advised. This will be most welcome. Their last album came out in 2003, before I was born.

I also met the great Mick Fleetwood for the first time ever. He is very tall and extremely nice, with long gray hair tied into a pony tail and a matching beard. We talked about the pre-Lindsay Buckingham-Stevie Nicks pairing coming to the Mac in 1977 for the self titled album that launched a mega career for the group (and went on Rumours, Tusk, and everything since then). Do you go back as far as [original member] Peter Green, Mick asked? I do, I told him, and we talked about “Bare Trees,” “Heroes are Hard to Find,” and “Hypnotized.” Mick was surprised that I knew Peter Green wrote Santana’s hit “Black Magic Woman.”

Sting, who’d really never met Fleetwood, said he went back to the Mac 1968 hit “Man of the World.” Fleetwood was impressed. I think he was impressed we knew that Fleetwood Mac started out a blues band.

Also PS I did ask Stevie why the original “Buckingham Nicks” album has never been on CD. It remains one of the few oddities of the rock era still only on vinyl somewhere (like my record bin). Mick chimed in “It got them the gig.” That was FORTY years ago. Well? “The real answer is, I don’t know,” said Stevie.

So much for that.

This article is certainly not a hoax

it's extremely sloppy article (if it can be even called that, reads like that person was talking, had his phone convert it into words, and never looked back to see whether what's written actually makes any sense ), but it never struck me as a hoax.

wish we had more of a direct quote than what's in there, but - FINALLY!!!!!!

this only took 5 years so far since the rest of the band first started actually recording it, for her to finally agree to another FM album. hopefully adding Stevie's contributions to the album will take much much less and we will see that album some time in 2016/17 time frame.

and hopefully the whole 2016 will now not be hogged by the rest of the band having to work on just the FM album.

My thinking is what she meant by referring to the EP was that what they will eventually release will be more than an EP. Not necessarily that those same songs will feature on the album.

shackin'up 12-07-2015 05:03 PM

Tomorrow she tells something else. I hope she'll fit in, but I think they will make a 12 song album based on what's already there, so that she has to come in 10 days to do backingvocals and then that's it.

olive 12-07-2015 05:12 PM

this could also be one more thing on the list The Rhiannon Movie , Gold Fish & Lady Bug cartoon , an album with Tom .... so sit back and wait

KarmaContestant 12-07-2015 07:44 PM

My goodness. I hope it's double album. With a deluxe edition that's a triple album!!

Macfanforever 12-07-2015 08:12 PM

Thats great. If it happens or not.I'm not going to loose any sleep over it.

I'm sure Stevie will have new songs, but there is nothing wrong recording a demo; they don't have an expiration date. Our familiarity with her demos has no particular consequence.

What if a song like Rhiannon never evolved beyond a demo? Would it be too "old" to record in the future? Wouldn't you like it if she promised you heaven?

I'm elated that she's on board. We only have a scant five studio albums by the five fireflies. A sixth final album is very welcome.

If it's true, I hope they flesh out the EP songs; Sad Angel is the only one that sounds fully formed. I have a feeling it will be a lengthy album, along the lines of Say You Will.

Wonder if Herbert Worthington is doing the cover photo?

secondhandchain 12-08-2015 12:51 AM

She must have agree during the last leg of the tour...hence the defrosting between Stevie and Lindsey. That's my guess. Good news! I hope this is true.

LB Freakazoid 12-08-2015 02:33 AM

I always felt that SN would do another album with FM. I must admit, though, it was fun to watch the debate whether she would or not.
How could she not??? Her past actions, quotes, interviews were all about FM carrying on. She always called FM "her band"... She came into the SYW sessions with "songs that were for FM".... Always proud of the "big time band of Fleetwood Mac". She knows where her bread - and clout - is buttered.
Even though she has had more commercial success with her solo career than my beloved Lindsey, the big machine of FM has done the same for her-- given her the avenues to pursue her own creative endeavors.

On a side note - going out on this last world tour, right after a huge world tour, because Christine came back, and putting all her own plans on halt, speaks volumes on just how committed SN really is to FM. I mean, come on!, there was no 3 year gap in between tours! Ha! I see it as she has sucked it up, marched on, and will not let the "whole big rock'n'roll thang of Fleetwood friggin Mac" whimper out.

And I think they all knew it too. Just drama... Just drama.....

I'e always thought the same. They MILK the "drama" to the press, because it has kept them in the press since 1977! None of them are stupid. Keep the tension simmering, and when they "re-unite, re-convene, re-habilitate", the press EATS it up!

...and FM is working on a project without her.

I should have known this was not a trusted news source.

MoonSister75 12-08-2015 08:25 AM

Oh dear  It did seem a little strange, like things were moving along too smoothly.

The saga continues....

Josh2003 12-08-2015 09:37 AM

I don't think it's at all a bad sign that Stevie wants to do a few "solo projects" before an FM album. In fact, I figured that was a given and what she was likely holding out for all along.

She can do a small solo tour in the spring, April-May, while the band tinkers with songs she gives them, then hit the studio with them over the summer, putting the new album at a fall 2016/spring 2017 release.
