Idea for Dave Stewart

I tweeted an idea to Dave Stewart: create an album with Stevie and Annie Lennox where Stevie covers Annie/Eurythmics tunes and Annie covers Stevie/Mac tunes. I think it'd be super interesting, and if anyone could pull it off it be Dave. What do you guys think? Is that something you'd be interested in?

I thought the same thing, but didn't want to be the first to say it.

I do like Annie Lennox, when she sings her own material.

Cover albums are lazy.

Amen, brother. :xoxo:

I would like her to cover Dave Annie's songs but I rather see her do a country album.

I seconded that

I wouldn't mind Stevie doing an album of covers, especially country covers, but probably her schedule is full for the next 2-3 years.

sorcerer999 12-05-2015 01:49 PM

No.

No cover albums.

I'd like to see Stevie do one more Fleetwood Mac album, one more SFTV album and one more solo record with new material. I think she could pull all three of these off in the next five or six years if she wanted to.

One can dream, right? :o

This is Perfect!

I don't think anyone would go for this idea LOL
Although it would be interesting to hear Stevie sing "Love is a stranger"

I don't think either of them would like to do cover songs. It would be so cheezy for both of them. I always hated the Eurythmics music anyway. I freaked out when Tom Petty released Don't Come Around Here No More ....although that song has grown on me over the years.

I think a better idea would be to have Dave work with Lindsey on Stevie's songs and get this Fleetwood Mac album finished and released.

StreetAngel86 12-05-2015 06:40 PM

hell no.

i would rather stevie solo stuff.
NEW stuff.

if dave HAS to be involved to get her interested
fine.

but i'd prefer she experiment with Mr Grohl this time.

Sorcerer999 ... your idea is perfect <3

Yes .Classic country tunes would be great. She can team up with Lady A or with Charles himself. He was great on the CMA Xmas show or some classic country artists like Loretta Lynn,Emmylou Harris or Dolly Parton.

I probably would beach about having Dave G with her as long that he does not get out of hand making her music sound like 90's rock sound and the loud guitars. Its not my thing. It must be my old age.LOL...................

Some would shoot me now but also I agree with BLY to have Dave S work with Stevie and Lindsey to get the bloody damn new FM album done altogether.

GREAT IDEA! I've always considered Stevie a country artist. For me, she is at her best when singing and harmonizing on country songs. For compelling evidence, see "After The Glitter Fades", "Rose Garden", "Silver Springs (1976)", "Sleeping Angel", "That's Alright"
and "Needles and Pins".

Yes .Its way overdue.I hope it happens in my lifetime. Time for a change.

Also I would like to add .I would love to see Stevie or Mac do a Christmas album after their current stuff is all done.Other artists have done it .Not its her or their turn.

I like to see he do what the kids call Americana ( we called it country) Like Jamey Johnson, Chris Stapleton or Lee Ann Womack , just honest story telling about life.

If Loretta Lynn at 83 can record 93 new songs over the last year and a half ( with plans to record more) , she can do 10 -12 songs in a few weeks it just a matter of wanting to she already has with 24 K

I can imagine Stevie eventually doing that... she's recorded "Silent Night" twice, and recorded "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"with Chris Issac. I can imagine Christine contributing a classic to a holiday compilation album. But a Fleetwood Mac Christmas album? Hell no!

The only Christmas album I love to listen to is the The Partridge Family "Christmas Card" album, released in 1972; the only album where you can hear Shirley Jone's vocals.
