John McVie joins Orange's artist roster

Peter Green & Danny Kirwan used Orange amps back in '69 & '70.

Now 45 years later, John discovers the wonders of Orange amps. (although it looks as though he's gone the route of "black is the new Orange")

First Carvin basses, now Orange amps...I thought John McVie was the "Quiet One"???

Has John been using Orange stuff for a while or did he recently switch from something different?

I, admittedly, really have never payed attention to any of his gear. Whoops.

Money talks. I can't imagine that he needs it, but maybe it's a stature thing?

FWIW, my favorite guitar player in Nashville plays through an Orange amp, and he's pretty much the only one down there doing so.

John McVie is probably my favorite member of the band and I hate these types of intrusive videos but I was quite sad to see that even after his bout with cancer he apparently is still quite a heavy smoker. Damn. :(

I didn't think any members of the band had to wait for their rides at arrival like the rest of us. And it's really cool that he's lugging around his 2 bags of luggage.

He is my favorite member too. That's the first time I've ever seen something of him just on his own. Here's a couple of my thoughts:

1. Interesting that it was him and Lindsey, and the person filming chose to follow him and not Lindsey. That would never happen normally. I love Lindsey too, but this was really interesting.
2. Who were the 2 women and the man with him?
3. Also sorry to see him smoking. I want him to stay healthy.
4. Agree that it's an invasion of privacy, but soooo nice to see a bit of him in everday life. I know, that totally hypocritical.:eek:

The man is John's assistant, or at least he's worked as John's PA in the past. John Bunker was an assistant tour manager for FM and I think one of the Euro tour books had him listed as JMs assistant (he was with JM in some of the previous Euro hotel clips, out on walks, and so on).

It is interesting that the person chose to film JM whilst LB managed to get away.

Look at the picture next to the orange amplifiers and then at the video. That man does not carry the same body in both images. Maybe the vid is older, like Vivfox suggested.

LAX provides 'escorts' or whatever they choose to call them for any VIPs/celebs coming through the airport. The blondish chick with the badge around her neck seems like an airport person from what I've seen in the past, but it's hard to say. He gives both her and the Asian woman a big hug, so maybe he just knows them from previous trips?

Also, does Lindsey go anywhere without a guitar in his hands?? LOL. Would love to have seen where he went/what his ride sitch was.

get it while you still can. He surely makes more from Mac tours than Mac albums, and if this is gonna turn out to be the last big tour, with an album iffy at best, doesn't hurt to open another revenue stream.

He used to endorse Ampeg, but they moved their production to China and have had reliability issues ever since. I suspect that has something to do with it.

We might be the only 2 people who realize this.

Would have been funny if we watched Lindsey walk over to stand underneath the sign for the airport shuttle back to his car.

there's a cut at 0:18 when camera is behind John and Lindsey walking, before they zero in back on just John and his group waiting. guess Lindsey's ride must have been there in time, unlike John's. :shrug:

Well, when Lindsey waved his arm, I wondered who he was waving to. His arm was so high up at shoulder level, that I didn't think he was just saying goodbye to John. I thought he was motioning to someone maybe in the street waiting for him.

No, your points are well taken. I look at the stomach beneath that blue sweater and I cannot disagree with you two, now that you have brought it to our attention.

It's been awhile since my last show, but John did not look like that onstage the last time I saw him.

That's a really exceptional picture. Yes, John still has a little stomach, but I don't know if it's as wide. Maybe that vest hides a lot of sins.

Nothing SCREAMS "country music" like a wall of Orange amps. :laugh:

Just watched a Kenny Chesney concert clip ("Beer In Mexico"), both of his guitar players have a wall of Marshall 412 cabinets behind them that would make Cream jealous!! :lol:

If there are any car buffs on The Ledge, perhaps they can take a look see at the video and try to identify any late model cars driving by. If there are no 2015 models we can assume it is an older video.
