Stevie Nicks refuses surgery while on tour with Fleetwood Mac

Maybe this is why she seems to not be in a good mood lately

She's got spurs that jingle jangle jingle . . . well, Stevie's roots were country.

Maybe Stevie needs to see one of those western Arizona foot specialists:

http://www.azfeet.com/services/Hamme...one_Spurs.aspx

It sounds pretty miserable. Take care of your feet!

wheart 06-08-2015 10:27 AM

I've heard bone spurs are very painful. Maybe she should have stuck with the reeboks??

It isn't rude at all, Skip. I'm glad you posted it so people can access it easier.
I feel bad for Stevie. Foot surgery, even bone spur removal, is no joke and if she can do without it she's probably better off. I had one removed years ago and I probably would've been better off leaving it alone. I wonder if she's had an MRI on her knee to see how bad the damage is?
It's no wonder she kind of limps sometimes.

louielouie2000 06-08-2015 12:35 PM

I know this is going to come across very badly, but all I can think about is Stevie's penchant for exaggeration. Remember when her implant ruptured and she said she kept it in her freezer as a reminder; then later totally reneged the whole story? Or the Epstein Barr diagnosis that was a thing for a while, then never mentioned again? About how cocaine burned a nickel-sized hole in her septum; except it was actually the dissolved aspirin concoction she invented that did that? I could keep going, but the point being... don't listen to her, listen through her.

Oh it's one of my very favorite pieces of Mac lore- right up there with the roadie-coke-up-bum urban legend.

I believe Stevie said her doctor kept the implant material in a bio-freezer. It wasn't in Stevie's freezer next to the frozen peas. ;) Epstein's Barr can lie dormant in one's body forever or it can periodically flair up. The nasal septum thing- I think you may have an argument there, but probably the coke did damage as well. If she used it to the extent that we've read about, it's not a benign "medication." You can find people who will tell you they have had nose bleeds from the irritation.

I like to imagine it next to her Weight Watcher meals. ;)

It's been forever since I read the article, but I seem to recall her saying she kept the implant at her home in Phoenix as a reminder. It was only later that she changed that claim after some journalists started making light of it.

Regarding Epstein Barr... I'm pretty sure it was actually Klonopin addiction. Ever since Stevie went through rehab for Klonopin, nary a word has been mentioned about Epstein Barr since.

And the coke hole... Stevie is the only person, celebrity or otherwise, who I have ever heard of having a hole burned completely through their septum because of cocaine usage. I cannot imagine her intake outstripped every single rock star or actor throughout history, either. She freely admitted within the past couple of years that it wasn't the coke that caused the hole, but the aspirin solution she made to combat the nasal irritation from coke usage.

I adore Stevie's musical/singing/songwriting talents, but personally... I'm inclined to not trust anything she says as the truth. It may reflect elements of the truth or at least her feelings... so I don't think she's really being intentionally dishonest. But all the same, I would never, ever trust her thoughts and recollections as definitive.

OK.thanks.My mother had bone spurs when she was in her mid 50's.Spending a lifetime on cement floors with bad shoes it added up.They very painful with my mother. When she had them remove. She was a new person with out pain.

I hope Stevie get these takin' care of after this tour is over. and also get that leg checked out.She has to find comfortable boots and stay away from those highrise foot high heel boots.

Back in 2009 I dislocated my knee when I lost my balance on the front steps of my old apt.as I was moving over here.At the time the pain was almost nothing .I end up going to see Stevie in Atlantic City .At that time I felt alittle pain and had a blast at the show and spend a couple days walking the boardwalk.I brought some pain killers which was Vicodin left over from my Dentist appointment weeks earlier .I'm glad I did not need to take them. The knee cap brace rig I picked up at the time helped alot. When I got home .I went to my doctor and found out I dislocated my knee which I did not know it at the time when I was in my travels to the concert. He relocated my knee and I was fine after that.

Well I did check to see if anyone posted it before I posted it. I would never think to look in a Waddy interview or a House of Blues thread

Don't blame it on me....blame it on my wild heart

Looks like Frankenboks from here on, folks.

Don't worry about it...It was originally posted in the "Rumours" New Interview-"The Mirror" and the fact that Stevie may require surgery is reason enough to start a new thread in the "Stevie" section...

Sorry about that guys.I missed Nicole's thread in the Rumours section about Stevie's Mirror interview myself.

So you can kick me in the a$$ with those boots in the photo.LOL..

BTW those look like work boots to me.They must feel heavy on the feet.

michelej1 06-08-2015 08:12 PM

I don't see anything wrong with her wearing comfortable sneakers -- uh, but not that tan color:lol:.

You know, you joke with the workboots, but look they are on trend. It would not be uncommon for a 20 year old girl to wear workboots with a nice dress today. They are fashionable now in a way that the Reeboks weren't when Stevie first started wearing them.

Well, Stevie said there was NO WAY anyone was operating on her toe. So ...

yes a few rhinestones on the front. But you know when she said "steel toe" boots this is exactly what I thought of. I don't understand resistance to surgery if it's going to help in the long run but whatever.

 You're so right. She may be the Queen of Rock, but she's also just a drama queen, prone to a conflation of events and fictitious meanderings. Though she is genuine in her intent, you shouldn't take everything she says as matter of fact. Just as she sang what you quoted : "Don't listen to her, listen through her." Words of wisdom!

why does everyone assume this is a "legend" ? ;)
the story is so ridiculous and Stevie is so "proper" [in how her image is represented out in the world] that it probably IS true.
i was barely a foetus during RAL but I don't think it's that hard to believe it to be true.
Just like the real level of her coke addiction

reebokandlace 06-09-2015 08:21 AM

I am not sure why she won't just go out in a pair of regular black reeboks without the platforms. They are a very comfortable sneaker. Reeboks and lace look nice together. Converse and lace is just strange...or maybe I just don't want to have to change my Ledge user name to "converseandlace"

:lol::lol::lol:

Why does Stevie call her platform boots "balleria boots". Wtf? There is nothing ballerina about them. I haven't seen her in ballerina attire since the music video in the 80's.

As far as her blowing a hole in her nose, its true. I blew a hole in my septum in the 80's. I had to get it fixed of course...but if you do enough blow it can happen. Every human body is different...there are people who can be hard core alcoholics their whole life and live to 90 and there are people who have liver failure by 50....every body reacts differently.

I blame YouTube. Stevie's aware that every performance of hers will end up on YouTube at some point so she wants to always look good in the heels. She didn't seem to give a crap from 2001-2004 when she wore the boks exclusively on tour.

This statement is so profoundly sad and yet so very true.

I can not figure out if she is a habitual liar or a pathological liar. I just tell myself she is a story teller who can't keep her stories straight, but the reality is (based on her track record of 30+ yrs of "continuous rewriting of her own stories") it is either habitual or pathological.

.

TsnFan4Ever 06-09-2015 08:35 PM

After wearing suede and leather boots in my "dress like Stevie" days, I have a bunion on my right foot--caused by the high heeled, pointy boots that I wore all the time in the 70's and 80's. I can't even imagine how much wearing her boots must hurt; they hurt me just to look at them. Surgery looks really scary (watch it on You Tube sometime if you want to have nightmares; yikes!). And this is likely why she's not a happy camper on stage. Foot pain is not for sissy's.

If Stevie needs to wear Nikes, frankenboots, or whatever she needs, let's support her. At least she's still out there singing her heart out for us.

Well for me, I like the reeboks because they were all black. They kind of blended in with her attire. The white trim is a bit distracting. Also, I don't think that wedge is comfortable. I mean it would be for one day, if you're just walking around Santa Monica on Saturday. But I don't think a wedge, even a Converse wedge, is good for a whole tour.

Michele

Macfanforever 06-10-2015 08:53 PM

She can just wear a regular black pair of comfortable sneakers with enough room inside for her toes and not scrunched together. Also padded innersoles too..She dont need those mile high heeled styled ones.
