Waddy Interview (guitar.com)
Extracts which are relevant...
http://guitar.com/articles/waddy-wac...icks-pat-mcgee Guitar.com: I figured it was something along those lines. And are you working with Stevie Nicks these days? W: Well I will be. At this point Stevie is on the road with Fleetwood. Guitar.com: Yeah, I mean when she's done with that. W: Oh yeah. We have every intention of getting back on the road and promoting the record we made, that no one has heard yet. Guitar.com: And you'll be serving as musical director? W: Sure, yeah. Definitely. I just spoke to her the day before yesterday, and she's looking forward to it very much, as I am. We made a great record and no one has heard it yet. Guitar.com: Right, you've got to get out there. W: Yeah. Well just timing-wise, it didn't work out, because Christine coming back into the band (Fleetwood Mac) precluded everything, because as soon as the promoters heard about it, every show was sold out. Guitar.com: Of course. W: And now they're out there killin', so it's great. But we'll be back early next year, probably. |
I knew it! Good news for the 24KG fans and bad news for her participation in the new Mac album after the tour is over.
Like I said in a previous thread, Christine's return and Stevie's album promotion was just a case of "bad timing". Perhaps when she gets 24KG out of her system, she will recommit to the band that made her famous in the first place. Although I'm a little miffed that she said she's "tired and needs a break from touring", yet is plotting this solo tour with Waddy for the first of the year. Part of me is ecstatic to be able to hear some of these 24KG songs live, and on a proper promotional tour...yet I'm also sad that this pushes the new Mac record back at least another two years. Dollars to Donuts we won't even see the next Mac album til 2017, to coincide with the 40th Anniversary of Rumours... |
Yeah! I knew it!
I hope she throws a second cd in the meantime! |
Good for her, I for one, am glad.
She postponed this to go on The FM Tour (which was the right thing as Christine was back) but now she can get on and promote her own stuff. With no guilt, either. |
As much as I love her, she's a big fat liar!!!
|
Record that nobody has heard yet? What? Is it already recorded??

Now she intends to tour and promote her baby... |
This is wonderful news! I hope he's right.

I think someone needs to raise the subject with Mick at one of the M&G's...
if he knows anything he could start blabbing. Remember when he was asked what Stevie was up to and he spilled the beans about "24K"., It might go something like this. Fan. "So FM is taking a few years off after this long tour" Mick. "I don't think we have any plans for an extended break" Fan "Well Waddy says Stevie has plans for new solo songs and there will be a solo tour in 2016" At this point Mick will either act surprised or let the cat out of the bag again... Mick "We are hopping to get the record finished next year" Fan "Waddy says they/Stevie are looking forward to getting the as of yet unheard solo record out and touring behind it" This is where his assistant says he does not have time for any more questions. or he will start crying (like he did back in 2010) about how Stevie won't record with LB and now he does not know if FM will ever put a new record out or ever work again... |
Excellent news, really. I hope she adds some more vault songs and also makes a concert vid of the tour.

It it would be interesting to hear what MF thinks about her touring solo next year and the possibility of her recording more of her songs solo before the FM record is done... |
Maybe she'll record some new vault songs and repackage the album. Didn't she talk about doing that in an interview earlier in the year?
|
Maybe they did other songs in Nashville at the same time they recorded 24 KG.
Or more likely she's just going to tour with 24KG. |

I obviously want a new FM album and Stevie to tour but seriously, does she have time to do all of this? There's no way she can record new music, tour 24KG and contribute to a new FM album by next year. She needs a well deserved but short break otherwise she's going to go insane (pardon the pun!).
It sounds to me though as if she's set her heart on touring 24KG and if so, then she can contribute to a new Mac album. The current tour finishes on November 22nd, so she can have a month break and start back up in January. She can contribute songs to a new Mac album by March, tour 24KG April '16 onwards and so on. You can juggle it Stevie! You've done it before and you can do it again! |

Thanks Nicole.
Waddy hit the nail right on top with a hammer with the poor timing issues. Great news.I have read the whole artical an see what he has been up to lately. Now that shed some light on whats going on. She probably be out on her own in 2016 .Lindsey will do his thing and the Mac will probably be out in 2017 doing their Rumours 40th Anniversary tour with or without a new album.Chris and John can relax .Mick will work at his restaurant and other projects. |
Also she's got to attend getting those feet takin' care of after this tour is done.
http://www.express.co.uk/entertainme...USA-Arizona-UK Stevie Nicks refuses surgery for painful injuries while touring with Fleetwood Mac Stevie Nicks is battling on despite suffering from previous injuries while she tours with Fleetwood Mac. By Jack Teague and Lisa Higgins PUBLISHED: 16:50, Sun, Jun 7, 2015 | UPDATED: 16:55, Sun, Jun 7, 2015 Stevie is currently spearheading the band’s On With The Show tour which hits the UK today when they play the Genting Arena in Birmingham. But the Arizona-born rock star has developed a bone problem and has aggravated an old knee injury while performing. “I have a bone spur in my toe from wearing my ballerina platform shoes on stage every night. “And I had a fall in 2013 where I really hurt my left knee,” she says. “Somehow a couple of weeks ago I reinjured it. I think I stepped down a little too hard on it on stage. |
I think the fact Waddy stated they'd start touring early next year is very revealing- Stevie almost always tours amphitheaters during the summer time. This infers she might just go tour behind 24k as quickly as possible simply to get it out of the way, all while getting her break from FM. In theory she could still join FM in the studio later in the year.
So this is possibly a win-win situation for all involved- Stevie gets to tour behind 24k, gets her break from FM, yet doesn't hold up the creation of the new Mac album by much, if at all. Because it sounds like most of the tracks Chris and Lindsey have worked on are still rough, and would require additional work before Stevie gets involved in the whole project anyway. |
I would say that the people who have never heard 24K don't want to hear it and aren't going to a Stevie Nicks concert to hear unfamiliar songs. They just want the "hits." The people who want to hear the news songs snatched up 24K the minute it was available and talked about every aspect of it long before that. So, the focused fans have definitely heard it. But yes, they want her to tour on it, too.
And I think it's healthy that Stevie still wants to out there and play some new songs. So, whatever excuse there is for putting 5-6 songs that have never been played in a concert before into the setlist, it's a positive thing. Michele |

My personal edit. Remember the source is a guitar player that wants to be paid. And promoting an album that's dead in the water doesn't make $ense. |

We will see. |

She can probably book small venues just for us without the regular concert goers. |

This is very good news though! In an ideal world, we can get a Stevie solo tour AND her participation in the new FM album, and everyone in the band is happy... |

More Likely it could be a shed and casino tour which is fine with me. |
People will fill a Stevie concert no matter what she's touring for. I'm sure she'll play plenty of 24 Karat Gold next summer. The fact this album exists at all is pretty miraculous - Stevie won't pas up the chance to play these songs, especially not after sitting on them for more than a year, probably thinking about it all the time.
My prediction is on a set list heavy with material from 24 Karat Gold, with all the required 'hits' thrown in. I'd be willing to bet heavy on Belle Fleur, Twisted, Watch Chain, I Don't Care, and even 24 Karat Gold being in the set if they can find a way to carry that mellow chugging sound on to the stage. |

Stevie has a hard time letting go. This album won't sell, get over it. Die hard Stevie fans like those who post here bought it, but for the casual Stevie Nicks fans these are considered "B-Sides" or "Leftovers".
Flashback to Beacon Theater a few years ago. Stevie does 6 (SIX!) songs from "In Your Dreams". My sister in law kept asking me where these songs were coming from. I was pretty embarrassed to say she was still trying to promote her most recent studio album. Who the f*ck does that? 3 or 4 songs from a new album is all you should throw out there. 6? That's pathetic. Going back to "Vault", while I enjoyed the album, this isn't going to be a big seller. Ever. I'm still excited for a volume 2 as I'm a Nicks fan (stan). I pray to God she does the Fleetwood Mac album. After this long tour, I don't see these elderly people touring for it anyway, but at least give the fans a final gift of 3 or 4 new Nicks-sung FM songs. |
