We love the band that is Fleetwood Mac and we simply do not, at all, care if our opinions and ideas are chunnell'd into a focus group page, blog like http://www.fleetwoodmacnews.com

Because, we know that we can influence and shape the debate about the people in that band - the Mac, because, we love their songs, because we want a new Fleetwood Mac album; we want a Tour DVD, we want a retrospective and a proactively filmed DVD Documentary.

We do, yes, want a film of and by the fans like Fleetwood Mac: The Fans' Film

or similar to Veronica Mars the Movie.

We can, should and possibly would put our money where our mouth is and vote with our feet if there never is any new songs!!!

We are a federation of the Fans, across all of the parts of the world. We love this band, and we hope and pray for their best health and also their prosperity.

We know that as the fanbase, we shape what and when they do their thing. This tour has spread like wild-fire from the west to the east from USA/CANADA to the United Kingdom/European Union and shortly over back to Oceanic District, oh, I mean Australia/New Zealand.

And naturally the ones who disagree with that power, or that union of love for great music --- of course they can and will try to Shut Us Down.

There is talk on the town; that she might go solo.

There is word on the street that she might be leaving out the "back-door". There is a man who really does hope, pray that Secret Love, was not on his tape.

So, tell me, if there are any promoting people or marketing gurus lurking here on the Ledge.....why kick your fanbase when the chips are going up, up and all the way further up?

is going on in the collective consciousness of the business and the group of players and one silly singer that, y'know owes it all to Mick, John and her supposedly best pal Christine McVie? :angel:

Angel Face should put two and two together, get four and realise 80% of a full record album has already been done. She needs a minimum 3 preferably 5-6 songs, new off the boat.

I know I read on a fan site that there was one called My Mothers' Rings.

Another, Carousel, supposedly.

Another, Belle Fleur (oops -- went solo on that one big time!)

This is, was and remains a big rude middle finger to Mr Buck, John and possibly Mick for roping her back in after Say You Will in 2009 but especially! Especially in 2013 ... it is just so clear that was book-marked for her solo S.N. time.

But ....honestly, you know who is losing??? Mick and John, the backbone of the great band who have half the touring revenue of all three songwriters.

That is the great travesty. The great leverage is that Mick and John own the Intellectual Property to the band's name " Fleetwood Mac". Still, it is a shame and remains a great betrayal by the one person who felt like she was never meant to be on the Fleetwood Mac bill. (Payroll)

But, but, but I must add this very subtle disclaimer, that he is too nice as is his friend, the bassist ... to kick someone out of a business that returned so much to their hip pockets.

Stevie wants to nuture young talent while doing nothing to help the very four, and one in particular, who is very open and honest always.

That thread, this thread sorry, is about Fleetwood Mac being a bunch of idiots, particularly the one GIRL who was never meant to be included in the group:

Stevie; Lindsey's ex-girlfriend, he let her come in with him "package deal" oh "it didn't look good for you now, did it, Stevie?"

And she kicks him Mr Buck in the teeth after he helped her grow her fame and wealth to a point where even Stevie herself surpassed Lindsey's wealth and talent.

Stevie is trying to pivot herself into artist management and artistic expression/ anti-celebrity mode.

It is not working.
She cannot sell her own product without Liz Rozenberg and Dave Stewart or Dave Grohl.

So really, why when she has a neat little trio set up plus Karen Johnston, then why does she --- pivot back away from Fleetwood Mac the band that she almost made her own? The people who gave her a home in the music biz and she kicks them in the teeth and refuses to honour the time-honoured agreement that if they tour, they also record and if they do a record --it is five a-piece, always, even if one doesn't pull her weight EVER.

We don't really know Stevie nor Lindsey, we just know what they let us know about them, so I think we shouldn't say things like "Lindsey would give his mate a hug; Stevie would sooner kick her Mates while they are down and her chips are up, up,up". I also think that we shouldn't care so much about their personality as such that what they do is MUSIC, they're not teachers or psychologists or doctors so it's a scandal for us if they're egocentric, all stars are egoentric, or they wouldn't have wanted to be famous, they would have been again teachers or psychologists or doctors.
I understand that you must be in a place of your life that is difficult and you're projecting your thoughts and emotions on outward and more controllable things but you should be aware that this behaviour doesn't reflects on yourself.

Hello again guys. It is 6.56 AM EST here in dull and shy Western Sydney; most people are asleep.

I was a little bummed that I had a ticket to the Houston TX show but had to sell at a 30% discount $180. Well, Flash Seats took the 10% G.S.T. tax off the top as commission (it was $200 that they sold for in USD and I paid about $237 USD to the ticket retailer).

All things being equal, I have read some much, much crazier things from people whose only excuse is "I AM A FAN YABADABDOOO!"

Well, I do have a psychiatrist on my side and the treatment medication the can and does neutralize issues of mental disorder in my psyche.

Sincere apologies for the wine comment. The last thing I'd want to be doing is mocking mental illness- Genuinely thought you'd have been a bit tipsy as none of your previous posts have been in the same vein to the best of my recollection.

By the way, I'm a Brit and I've completely lost it with UK politics- all three major parties have merged into a single characterless entity. The turn out at the next election is likely to be the lowest ever.

I'm not judging you for your mental illness, I'm a psychologist student and my sister always struggled with depression herself, so I don't take this things lightly but I had just noticed that you were behaving in a slightly aggressive way, probably because of some inappropriate comments and you're not so wrong with that.

I am Italian and I think that my country pollitically-wise is just as chaotic as yours, in the last 3 years we changed 4 government bodies (while the government of a party should last at least 2 years) and life costs are becoming higher every year, on the average an italian every year spends half of his income for taxes, university taxes are almost double then when I started university four years ago and there aren't jobs available while we're waiting for a Job's act since 2013. Not to mention Berlusconi is still alive.
I totally understand your anger about your country's situation but this is a blog about music and people come here in order to evade such heavy problems. This I know also because previously some of my statements about these things were met coldly.

I don't think here Ledgies judge you because of your disease, I think just a mix of your anger, your statements about your psychic conditions and talking about heavy political issues has made others feel awkward.

James thanks for explaining about your mental health diagnosis, it should help others understand why some of your posts are a bit rambling. I think you made a really important point -

They are both mental health issues.

They are different diseases but they're both problems we shouldn't make fun of.

By the way the author of this thread at the start made different threads that asked similar things and then they got brought together in this single thread, so that explains a lot of the "fragmentation" in the statements.

I think the best move for Fleetwood Mac now is to release box-sets of their classic albums comprehensive of the remastered original album, a disc of alternate versions and outer outtakes and a remastered live DVD, not again the Rosebud documentary because it's an offense to the paying fanbase.

If by "smooth musical operators" you mean professional, I think yes, with the passage of time they've become certainly much more mature after 40 years of experience.

For certainties I don't favor neither social media nor passage of mouth, I only turn to public notices. For everything else official sites and forums.

I read a lot but before university I used to read a lot of novels, now I only have time to read university books.

I don't sing in the shower, I sing doing housecores (but not wearing underwear!)
I have to say that during high school I was for a bit in the acting after school club where I had to sing among the other things, but I wasn't bad.

I don't think we should even talk about the existence of a centre fanbase with such diversity of opinion in our group.

"Selective Interest Group"= The machine that promotes/manages the band or individual members...I wonder how much influence "The Interest Group" has over the band and what percentage of the decisions made are actually made by the band itself or what the "Interest Group" has convinced the band is in their best interest to do...

I would imagine the "Interest Group" gets a percentage of the profits so are their decisions based on what's best for the band or their own motivation to increase the balance in their own bank account...

On the flip side how much resistance would the "Interest Group" give the band if FM informed said "Interest Group" that "We have decided not to tour for a few years and instead work on new music" Or what if FM decided that they were tired of the "Cash Cow" tours and wanted to play smaller venues and perform a largely acoustic set encompassing FM in it's entirety? I would imagine the "Interest Group" would try and talk them out of it since it would generate less revenue and in turn the "Interest Group" would have their income reduced. Would the band have the "Collective Willpower" in such a situation to tell them "This is what we are doing if you do not want to make it happen we will find somebody that will"

Who is really running the show? Could FM be just puppets in their own play?

By the way I think that the Interest group probably has much more power with pop new acts, that usually don't write their own songs and music and have small experience.

Recording as much as possible, releasing those recordings, and hiring a band archivist to work with Warner to make sure everything in any Warner/Reprise vault anywhere is catalogued and accounted for.

The best thing that FM can do now is something different " Fill in the blank_________" then what they have been doing for the last 40 plus years.

Maybe now is the time for a change.Try something different .Other artists and bands have done it and the fans were happy.

There is no collective willpower. And interest groups assertion is a good one. Seems that since Mick got them in trouble with his bad management skills during Tusk tour, they've been bowing down to selective management / interest groups to make sure they actually make money on tours... and that has put them in a completely different corner they are apparently willing to stay in.

Yes indeed! I think that combo, out from under the shadow of certain people, could really work magic.

I saw some things on this tour (3 shows) that I've never seen in many years of seeing FMac.

1. The lack of interaction between Lindsey and Stevie. There still is some, but this is the least I've ever seen it. Past tours have had so much more. I guess Mick's book sums up the SYW recordings where Stevie expected the two to renew some chemistry and it only went in the opposite direction. On a bright spot, this seems to be changing for the better. Let's hope they want to write and sing together again. The magic is building.

2. Lot's of interaction between Stevie and Christine. This is kind of new to me. They did a little on the Cage and BTM shows, but the friendliness and Stevie's excitement seems fresh and even 'non-staged'. I can tell how happy she is that Christine is back. Her voice and stage presence have really flourished of late and I think it's because the 5 of them are together again. Some friendly competition perhaps? Very healthy.

3. There's always been a lot of Lindsey and Christine interaction throughout the years, but to see them collaborating on new music and the hugging and kissing and the genuine friendship they keep displaying has been better than ever. Lindsey's face lights up when he talks about Christine in interviews. I love how he refers to her as, "The beautiful Christine". Those studio recordings the four of them participated in must have been amazing. Especially because he was the one least enthused about her return in the beginning.

I think all the album drama is just a matter of Stevie wanting to control her own destiny. That's my bottom line statement on the whole album matter. In my opinion the quality of her work has always been better within the band. Fireflies!

Bingo. Some fans really seem to have a problem with this. :shrug:

Because if you are in a band there are compromises. You don't get everything you want. She's trying to get it all.

Actually, I don't think she's trying to "get" anything. If anything, she's giving them all what they want by even being on this tour. So, who's getting what? Stevie could be on her own tour, playing to her own sold out crowds.

If anyone in Fleetwood Mac is getting what they want, it sure as hell isn't Stevie.

wait? are you implying Nicks doesn't want to tour with FM either? and we know she doesn't want to record with them. what is left then? wouldn't that mean she shouldn't be in the band that she has absolutely no interest in anymore?

i don't know why anyone would have a problem with a person controlling what they want to do. people have a problem by somebody controlling what the whole band wants to do. (unless that person is Jon Bon Jovi in a band with his name, and people still may have a problem with that too. ;) )

really? you may know those statistics much better than me but by the cursory look it seems that the only venues she sells out are the same venues even Lindsey was playing solo on his own, without any band. ;)

Lindsey has been very clear that he would love to work with her again. there's no need to hope there.

It's quite humorous that someone who is allegedly a musical genius is spending so much time begging someone to work with him. Perhaps it's time he found someone else to push his slick artsy pop sound upon.
