Least loved 3 by the 3

Apologies for the negativity- obviously follows on from the other thread.
Quite difficult actually.

Lindsey: Make Me a Mask, Oh Diane, Empire State
Stevie: Freedom, Love Is Dangerous, When I See You Again
Christine: Save Me, World Turning, Hollywood (Some Other Kind of Town)

Wdm6789 11-15-2014 06:41 PM

I love Empire State

I love Empire State too. I've never understood the hate for it. Solely looking at the studio versions, I'd probably pick that as my favorite of Lindsey's on Mirage.

DauphineMarie 11-15-2014 09:27 PM

Lindsey - The Ledge, Blue Letter, Family Man
Christine - Don't Stop, Say You Love Me, Save Me
Stevie - Freedom, I Don't Want to Know, Love Is Dangerous

GypsySorcerer 11-15-2014 11:10 PM

Lindsey - Empire State, Family Man.....I'd have to go into solo territory to pick another one
Christine - One More Night, Only Over You, Hollywood
Stevie - Welcome to the Room...Sara, When I See You Again, Love is Dangerous

I also love the song. Lindsey has a lot of quirky songs. This is his quirky ode to New York City.

"Big apple taking a bite of me
Whole world moving below my feet
Not like we do in L.A."

Very clever!

pattyfan 11-16-2014 01:29 AM

I'm limiting my response to Fleetwood Mac songs.

Lindsey: That's All For Everyone, Family Man, Red Rover
Christine: Only Over You, Little Lies, World Turning
Stevie: Silver Girl, Running Through The Garden, Not Make Believe

Kevin

ChickenStu 11-16-2014 06:48 AM

I quite like Make Me A Mask but I've never been all that keen on Little Lies.

jmn3 11-16-2014 11:27 AM

Lindsey:
Empire State
My Little Demon
Family Man

Christine:
Only Over You
Wish You Were Here
Sugar Daddy

Stevie:
When I See You Again
Silver Girl
Freedom

aleuzzi 11-16-2014 01:27 PM

Stevie:
When I See You Again
Welcome to the Room, Sara
Goodbye, Baby

Lindsey:
Empire State
Oh Diane
Make Me a Mask

Christine:
Skies the Limit
Do You Know
All Over Again

I really do NOT like any of these songs. At all.

tabruns 11-16-2014 05:29 PM

Nicks - Welcome to the Room, Sara. The Second Time. Affairs of the Heart.

McVie - Sugar Daddy. Never Make Me Cry. Never Forget.

Buckingham - Book of Love. What Makes You Think You're The One. Red Rover.

caveat: I've never heard McVie's songs from the Time album.

KenB 11-16-2014 05:58 PM

CHRISTINE
Save Me
Oh Daddy
Only Over You

LINDSEY
My Little Demon
Family Man
Not That Funny

STEVIE
Sisters Of The Moon
Silver Girl
Illume (Of course, these are all basically the same song.)

Count me among those who actually like -- not love -- Empire State.

mitzo 11-16-2014 07:36 PM

Christine: Save Me; Sugar Daddy; everything on Time except All Over Again

Stevie: Affairs of the Heart; Freedom; Angel

Lindsey: Everything except Steal Your Heart Away and Big Love

secondhandchain 11-16-2014 08:26 PM

I'm limiting mine to the classic five lineup

Stevie: Everything on Tango
Christine: Sugar Daddy, World Turning, When I see you again (it's not a Christine song but I hate it so much I'll blame Christine for it too)
Lindsey: What Makes you think you're the one, That's enough for me, Oh Diane

I'd love for you to elaborate because I don't see it at all.

tabruns 11-16-2014 10:21 PM

Yeah those three songs seem wildly different to me, too.

If you want Nicks songs that sound really similar try "Outside the Rain", "Dreams", "How Still My Love"....they aren't carbon copies of each other but they sound very similar.

Frankenstein 11-16-2014 10:43 PM

Lindsey - The Ledge, Come, Empire State
Christine - Never Make Me Cry, Save Me, Don't Stop (mostly due to overplay)
Stevie - Silver Girl, Affairs of the Heart, Welcome to the Room...Sara

Ha this made me laugh out loud for some reason. :p

But I think Stevie has to own this one. We can't even blame LB because his playing and his vocal actually are great and make the song far better than her alone.

This made me snort. Thank you!

blinker12 11-17-2014 08:09 AM

Surprised by all the dislike for Freedom! I thought that was one of Stevie's more admired early 90s efforts.

Christine: Warm Ways, Only Over You, Wish You Were Here
Lindsey: That's All for Everyone, Oh Diane, Come
Stevie: Welcome to the Room... Sara, No Questions Asked, Silver Girl

Artemis 11-17-2014 08:44 AM

This was surprisingly difficult. I'm largely indifferent to many of Lindsey's songs, but there are surprisingly few I can outright say I dislike.

Lindsey:
That's Enough For Me
Teen Beat
Say Goodbye

Christine:
Don't Stop
Only Over You
Mystified

Stevie:
The Second Time
Smile At You (just to clarify, this is the SYW version only. The demos are perfection. The album version is pure garbage)
Without You

I've become oddly fond of When I See You Again, destroyed voice and all. Ditto Silver Girl, the chorus is actually quite brilliant. (She was a hardcore/girlie girl... on the other hand, decidedly less so!)

FuzzyPlum 11-17-2014 08:49 AM

I am very surprised by some of the suggestions that have come up.
I cannot fathom the dislike for Welcome to the Room ...Sara. I know its not everyone's cup of tea but I didnt think it would get so many votes (its probably amongst my favourite Stevie songs).
I am surprised Oh Diane hasnt featured more heavily and I'm bewildered by the apparent love for Empire State.

I think Christine is the most difficult as I think she's probably the most consistant with her songwriting.

I love Welcome to the Room...Sara. It's my favourite Stevie song from TITN, and though I think the production could have been better, the demo is divine, and is really a stand out for me. Oh Diane is my least favourite Mirage song, but Empire State has grown on me slightly. I love these threads though because it shows how diverse this group really is.

secondhandchain 11-17-2014 02:47 PM

There's really very few I hate from any of these three. I found Christine the most difficult for some reason. Am always bewildered by the hate of That's all for everyone, it's gorgeous. Always loved Empire State.

tabruns 11-17-2014 03:37 PM

I think "That's All For Everyone" is gorgeous too. Amazing production on that one.

Actually that's the thing about Tusk...although its known for stripped down production on its songs, many of them like "That's All For Everyone," "Brown Eyes," "Storms," "Beautiful Child," "Tusk," and "Sara," actually have higher production than Rumours songs.

SisterNightroad 11-17-2014 04:41 PM

Stevie:
Desert angel
Docklands
Jane

Christine:
Wish you were here
Never forget
Mystified

Lindsey:
Empire state
Save me a place
Family man

The Juggler 11-17-2014 04:53 PM

Christine
Only Over You (such an uninspired song)
Wish You Were Here (again, pretty poor)
Temporary One (sounds like it was written in 2 minutes, too bland)

Lindsey Buckingham
Not That Funny (a bit obnoxious)
Oh Diane
Red Rover

Stevie
Freedom
Affairs Of The Heart
Silver Girl

moon 11-19-2014 01:33 PM

(except for the '90-'95 songs, of course they would fill Chris and Stevie's options!)

- Stevie: Beautiful Child, Storms, Thrown Down

- Christine: Oh Daddy, Sugar Daddy, Honey Hi

- Lindsey: Errr...

wondergirl9847 11-19-2014 05:22 PM

Lists!

LB:

Not That Funny (Live, it's fun, but on the album, meh)
Oh Diane
What's the World Coming To

SN:

When I See You Again
Silver Girl
Welcome to the Room...Sara (I like this song, but since Stevie's FM output is strong, it's one of her weakest amongst the FM songs)

CM:

Sugar Daddy
Warm Ways
Honey Hi

Two of my fave Christine songs and three of my favourite Stevie's.

huh? You really think Beautiful Child and Storms are Stevie's worst songs.

And Oh Daddy? Interesting...

HoursAndHours 11-19-2014 11:42 PM

Christine: Honey Hi, Sugar Daddy, Don't Stop

Stevie: I Don't Want To Know, Love Is Dangerous, Silver Girl

Yes, really! Even when I can heard them a thousand times, these songs did not generate anything on me. I think there's another better ones. But well, is just an opinion. I can't say anything to those who don't like the Mirage songs...
Regards and thanks!!

Dreamz19 11-20-2014 03:21 PM

There aren't that many Mac songs I flat out hate or don't like. So this has been difficult. So I would say

Lindsey

That's Enough For Me
Oh Diane
Red Rover

Stevie

Seven Wonders
Without You
Landslide (I'll probably get stoned for this, but I'm just really sick of this song. Some of my friends who don't even like FM, play this song to death. Its not one of Stevie's worst songs at all, but it has been overplayed so much I can't really even listen to it unless its live. Rhiannon, which I have always loved, is starting to have the same affect on me)

Christine

Wish You Were Here
Remember Me
Love in Store (I used to really dislike this song, but its been growing on me lately. Just not enough to not be on the list)

Me too! That's one of the few Lindsey songs I love on Mirage. I realized before I liked many of the Mac's most disliked songs, but this thread proves it even more lol. I really like/or love Empire State, Family Man, Only Over You, Hollywood, Welcome to the Room... Sara and When I See You Again. Ironically, when it comes to Stevie's Tango songs, I'm not a fan of Seven Wonders which seems to be the favorite.
