S and L

When I was at the 10/29 Philly show I had side seats and when S and L were coming out for the encore I saw L say something to S and she looked at him and gave him a firm "No!" twice and Mama did NOT look happy. Are the kids acting up again?:rolleyes:They didn't seem to have much connecting going on onstage either.Maybe just a bad night for them or were other shows like this?BTW I could only see this b/c I had binoculars.

Macfan4life 11-09-2014 05:20 PM

He probably asked her to start signing those albums in the front row
HA HA

They did NOT seem to be getting along in the slightest, in Indy. Matter of fact, I have final bow pics and I don't even think they were touching

Maybe she wanted to interact with the audience more this tour and Lindsey, running the show, said forget it.That's why I asked on a previous thread if anyone had a DVD of the Philly 2013 show b/c I really want to see this in action.I don't think that kind of intimacy will happen again.

I don't think that's the cause.

As for the Philly 2013 show, I don't have a DVD but I can point you towards some videos. I basically collected a list of all the versions of the heavy-on-interaction-between-Stevie-and-Lindsey songs at every gig from last year's tour. Philly wasn't the best show for that tour by far when you look at interaction, but still...

They have for the most part, though their convincing impression of extremely happy people often seems to be gone at that point. I think there were maybe two occasions in particular where Lindsey literally was holding his hands in front of him like this though, lol:

http://38.media.tumblr.com/e95e6d130...a43o1_1280.jpg

The last two shows have had contact in the final bows but something's definitely off with them at the moment, even accounting for the natural lessening of interaction because they have less 'space' and the change in tour focus.

http://33.media.tumblr.com/ba5b470ff...8si8o2_250.gif

Look, if it gets to the point it did for one show for SYW, where Stevie literally made sure John was standing between her and Lindsey for the final bow, then I'll be properly concerned. :D

yes, because you are worried about her snubbing him?

when he keeps snubbing her, it's all ok in Nicole's world. ;) :xoxo:

it's about the album, plain and simple.

it's been noted at various shows over and over. apparently the lowest was at the DC show, to the point that LB came out for the encore holding Christine's hand and kissing her, instead of holding Stevie's hand as is the part of their usual choreography this year. i have a video of that Chris/Linds encore entrance, even.

sometime between DC and CT show they must have finally reached a turning point in their album negotiations, because people report that CT show on saturday was much more normal again.

plus from saturday on, both LB and SN started telling people that each of them is planning solo tour some time in 2016.

so they finally must have firmed up some plans, instead being in the standstill and limbo as it had been the case from the start of the tour, it seems. at least i hope so!

No, because I think that an occasion where one of them (I don't care which) literally stands in a different place solely so they don't even stand NEXT to the other (in the same show that he ended up on his knees begging her while she told him 'no') is a different matter than not putting an arm around her shoulder at the end of a show. It has nothing to do with who supposedly 'snubs' who - though I'd say some of this is more ignoring than snubbing. You know full well I want them BOTH to get along and neither of them to have a grievance with the other. But, as Stevie said last year, "even though we argue, the love is always still there."

I do think they're far more unsettled on this tour than last when it comes to each other, and I think that whatever the major problem is, it's probably causing one or both of them to more easily flare up over the smaller, niggling issues too. Whatever the case, it doesn't worry me, particularly. I find it frustrating and it makes me miss last year's consistent lovefest A LOT but I'm not worried. These two go in cycles and I'm patient enough to wait them out, lol. *shrugs*

Thanks Nicole for your efforts in listing the highlights of 2013.I haven't had a chance to watch yet but I as soon as I have a chance I will.Just a fleeting thought - maybe Mama is pissed that the tour was extented to May/June because she was planning to push her new CD much sooner?I know she has said that she wishes the tour would go on forever but what she says isn't exactly written in stone:rolleyes:"sometimes she was just an actress, but you'll never really know".And you know if the CD sales are low for "moi" she will blame the FM tour for not allowing her ample time for promotion.;)

Macfan4life 11-10-2014 05:14 PM

I don't buy any of the tension where they wont touch eachother. Even when things were horrible between them they still touched during concerts. So that is no proof of anything. I think they are all different people and all having fun. This thread reminds me of the one where someone said Stevie looks sad just because it was a quick moment. They are all past the stuff now. They don't hang out that much but get together on stage and enjoy the moment. I don't believe there is any new tension or fighting between stevie and Lindsey. There is no reason for it to be. They are not working on an album or working closely together. All in good fun IMHO. You can slice and dice any moments of a concert anyway you want.

which sounds like no FM recording anytime soon to me.
FM work takes them through 2015. So in 2016, Stevie needs some time off from FM for that year so, as before, Lindsey decides to fill that time with solo work..?

Not mad at Lindsey… mad at Stevie. I mean come on. What does this mean for FM album?? 2017 recording for 2018 release???

no i choose to think it means SN will finally record with them the summer of 2015 (maybe even april?), instead of the solo summer tour some said she was originally planning during a break in the FM world tour.

but then again, FM77 thinks there will be no AUS FM tour in 2015. although who knows, he may not be up to speed because these people seem to have been changing their plans as the tour is going on, trying to convince each other (i.e. Stevie) what they should do, or some other things may happen... ;)

but hasn't she said she *will* do some touring for 24k when the Mac tour is over? If the last Mac dates are 6/30, she's gotta get her band together, rehearse, and then do some shows. That'll be at least the summer of 2015 right there.

She said in JANUARY of this year at the Grammys red carpet that:

“I can just tell you I’m looking forward to two different tours next year and I’m looking forward to American Horror Story…”

This is nothing new.

agreed, but I was just speaking to elle's timeline, saying that if we take Stevie at her word, she won't be available to record with FM next summer as elle hoped.:sorry:

I thought the quote was "two tours THIS year" and we were wondering if she was going to do some guest spots with Dave Grohl or something before starting the FM tour.

So sad, album drama is all you got. LOL.

For all anyone knows Stevie's vocals have already been laid down. Just as the case was with the EP when they kept stirring the pot saying Stevie wasn't on board - when in fact that EP had been in the can for months. I know because a friend of mine had a contact who had already seen the artwork and knew how many tracks were on it.

So, the point is - music tracks go down first. Vocals go down last. No matter what the spin is - from Mick or anybody else - the buzz that Stevie is "refusing" to do an album is a bit OTT to me. Lindsey has already said she would be laying down her vocals and he didn't seem like it was a big deal or fight - it's been stated as a definite happening. Fact is she could be laying her vocals down in a hotel room right now or maybe they will wait until there's a good break in the tour. What may be more unknown is the record label part. The EP was not on a label.

The speculating that there's friction over the album involvement seems really off to me. They sure seemed happy enough on the last tour when Lindsey kept saying there was "no new album ... yet!"

Don't think the issue is Stevie doesn't want to be involved. Why would Stevie "Never Leave Your Band" Nicks not be all about doing one last album now that one of the million BFF's is back? I would think she would be on that like white on rice.

But, label or other negotiations - or things getting held up or put on back burners or the timing of solo projects... I would think there are a lot of business matters that could be ticking people off (and by people I mean SnL because the other 3 look pretty ecstatic...). I doubt we will ever know the details.

ok, here goes!
Saw the concert in Toronto on Oct 18. Was sitting fairly far back so couldn't really tell how they were walking on together, or how much they were interacting, other than what was on the jumbo-tron. It seemed normal. And the concert was incredible. I was a little worried after hearing the Today show performance. Christine had sounded a bit off, but I didn't want to chime in with the skeptics that were saying she was terrible, because, come on........she's 71 yrs old and doing something that most of us could never even attempt. And especially at that time in the morning. So, needless to say, in Toronto they sounded phenomenal.

Jump to Winnipeg on Monday night....November 10. Stevie walked out with Christine, which was a new one for me. I watched them pretty carefully to see what type of interaction was going on. For the first part of the concert, there was little interaction between her and Lindsey. My heart was sinking, except that the music kept buoying it up!! For Landslide, no interaction until the end when he smiled at her, and she smiled at him. When the lights went down, then he came over and gave her a half hug and a kiss on the side of the head. Phew, I was relieved. The rest of the show was pretty standard, except with little interaction between them. Now, the interesting thing was that Stevie seemed to be having sooo much fun up there. She was more goofy, giggly, and just looked genuinely happy. As did Mick, Chris and Lindsey. John always looks the same. All 3 of the voices sounded better than I could have imagined. Stevie sounded so much better than last years tour, and Chris sounded just like 35 years ago. Lindsey always sounds good, as Mick said at a meet and greet-"nothing seems to affect his voice, no matter how much screaming he does." Once, Lindsey did his crazy guitar move towards Stevie, and she did that shy away thing that she does when the crazed guitar player is coming at her. But she had a big smile on her face, and he was laughing too. They just all seemed happy, but without having to act like they still pine for each other (which I'm sure they do!!). Don't get me wrong, I love the pining for each other act. Maybe Kristin was here??? But that would be next to impossible, and that hasn't stopped them in the past. My sister kept commenting that Mick looks like he loves every single minute of what he is doing. Stevie and Lindsey stood next to each other with the bows at the end. They were touching, I think had their arms linked or something like that.

Thanks for your review. Glad to hear the overall mood seemed good. I think we aren't getting great videos and pictures this year as much as last year. Obviously, last year was about BN. This year it's about Christine's return. Too much SnL interaction would be unnecessary - none though is ridiculous. I don't care what their relationship is offstage - if you are onstage together you need to not ignore that there are other people up there too - especially with the other frontmen.

Let the good times roll. :)

My cousin is going tonight as well!! She's going based on my years of raving about them. She's still rather young (late 20's). But she is VERY excited. And the friend she is going with read over the set list I sent.......and she started to cry she was so excited. She's in her 50's and has never seen them before. That's a true fan!!!

If tensions are brewing on this tour.Mind as will forget the album recording sessions.

Who wants to work in a atmosphere with bickering.I know she dont like it and L probably dont like it either.

Unless its stage play. And fun ball breaking I dont know.

Here's what my cousin said about the concert: "It was sooooooo good. Stevie Nicks is so cool, wish I could be her for a day. They played for 2.5 hours!! I recognized pretty much all of it! Carolee is your age so she was in heaven. My favorite was Landslide....it was so beautiful."

Potential new punter/ledgie??????????

It was good! The crowd was a little less enthusiastic than the last two times they played in S'toon, but security decided to keep people from rushing the stage and lots of people on the floor weren't pleased with that.

As for S&L, Stevie seemed very happy but I didn't notice a lot of interaction between her and Lindsey.

Well, even with that horrible, selfish Stevie being public about not knowing whether she'll do the FM album , things seem to be improving on the S/L front...

I LOVE having seats on the SIDE OF THE STAGE at the lower level. I sat at the far side of the stage for the 2013 tour in Houston, Texas and I was able to see SO MUCH going on backstage. I got to see Stevie's little clothes changing tent....which seems to be like a little lounge. I saw Stevie going in and out of there many times, Lori and Sharon would also step in there during the little amount of time they had off (during Lindsey's long guitar solo for "So Afraid"). I also got to see Stevie and Lori chit chatting backstage with some assistant in the mix.

I will be sitting in the same section for "On With The Show" on December 15. As usual, I will be watching close for any backstage drama. However, I don't expect I'll see much drama. Honestly, I don't think these folks spend very much time together when they are off stage. And, while they might go to dinner rarely, I think Stevie does her own thing. I don't think Stevie and Lindsey see each other much at all, except right before they are about to walk onstage. With limos, hotels, assistants, handlers, managers, assistants to assistants, etc.....How much interaction do they really have that is NOT staged for the crowd??

And if they did, how would we even know?

I'm still interested in a comment Ryan Murphy made in passing last year while FM were touring that SnL were working on a re-do of an old song about a witch, for example. I'm also amused by how much Stevie plays down Lindsey's presence (for more than the requisite two days...) while she recorded TISL and IYD. And I'm also bemused by several years ago when Stevie had a habit of discussing what hobbies and sports Lindsey's kids enjoyed, that Will was 'quiet' at home, etc.
