Advice for getting tickets for the 2nd leg?
 

Ok, so I just found out that some more tour dates were added and when I saw that they are coming to Knoxville and Nashville in March, I actually started jumping for joy, because I'm moving to Nashville in November and with the scheduling of this first leg, my chances of seeing them were really pretty slim. But now that they're actually going to be out there--and in my birthday month no less!--I have to try and get tickets for this second leg!!

So any advice? I've done the whole Ticketmaster thing trying to get tickets for the first leg and nothing great came up. Ideally I'd like to get floor seats, but I know from personal experience that's not always the easiest thing to do. Tips from seasoned concert-goer Ledgies would be very much appreciated!! :thumbsup:

Be on your phone, Tablet, computer or whatever you use and be ready to go at 955, as soon as 10 am hits buy your tickets. That's how I got floor seats for one of the October shows. It's timed, so be quick, but accurate when filling everything out.

About an hour to half an hour before tickets go on sale wherever you are, make sure your computer is on, your internet connection is functioning properly and be logged into your Ticketmaster account or whatever service your venue is using for this concert. Make sure also to have your payment info ready or stored/saved in your account for faster checkout. Those things are timed usually and if you don't have that stuff stored/saved, you can lose your tickets during the checkout process.

The minute before tickets go on sale (usually 9:59am) start hitting that refresh button but don't hit it too much because I've heard people would get locked out of the Ticketmaster site.

Another tip: Have the specific seating chart for your venue and this concert somewhat memorized! Go on the venue's website and see if they have a specific seating chart made for this concert. I made a mistake once of not knowing that double lettered rows (i.e. KK) came BEFORE single lettered rows (i.e. K) for a concert I recently bought tickets to and ended up being farther back on the first level than I wanted.

Make sure you have an American Express card or some other way to participate in the pre-sale, which is usually several days before the general public gets to buy tickets. (Here in St. Paul the pre-sale is this Monday 10/13.) And be ready to purchase tickets right at 10 AM. There aren't many good seats left by the time the general public sale starts.

Don't you have to punch in an AMEX code to access the tickets?

Just wanted to know if anyone who's participated in the AMEX pre-sales in the past have had to use their AMEX cards to pay for the tickets as well as getting into the pre-sale with the code mentioned above?

Do you absolutely have to use that card or can you purchase them with another method?

I've always bought pre-sale tickets with the AMEX card since I had no reason to use a different method. I would hope that only AMEX cards would be accepted because it's one of the perks offered in exchange for a high annual fee. (I got the card primarily for earning frequent flier miles.) If anyone could buy pre-sale tickets without the card then it's not worth the high annual fee.

I hate the fact that you have to keep clicking the refresh button to find better tickets and then run the risk of getting locked out. :/ Is that something you avoid over the phone?

Also, with the pre-sales, I'm a little confused. For Nashville, there is the AMEX pre-sale, then there is the Facebook pre-sale, and also a Live Nation pre-sale. I'm guessing the AMEX pre-sale is the best? What's strange though is that the VIP pre-sale comes first, THEN the Facebook pre-sale. You'd think they would release the better seats for the AMEX sale. Hmmm...

NO, there is an allocation of tickets for each pre-sale. It's not a case of ALL the best seats being offered in the first Amex sale. In fact, if enough people do the Amex sale you will probably get worse tickets than if you hold off to the later sales.

So I think the main point is to be on the ball with each of the sales and doing whatever it takes to get tickets. I think I'll be on the phone and on the computer at the same time, seeing if I can score some good floor seats. Fingers crossed!!

What exactly are the "VIP Package Presale" and "Facebook Presale" ? And what is required to purchase tickets in those presales?

Presales are not usually available via phone...it's difficult enough trying to talk to TM representatives during a general on sale...the reps will have NO idea of what you speak.

The VIP presale is the "Mick Fleetwood VIP package" which is $750 per ticket (seat in first 5 rows) and includes a Q&A, early entry into the venue, VIP host, lanyard, official tour merch item, autographed 8x10, photo session with Mick onstage.

I guess someone posted above that Knoxville has two-tiered M&G packages: one that is exclusively front row (and $100 dollars more = $850) and the other which is the $750 regular one. I don't know if this is true for other dates.

You buy these tickets like you normally would on Ticketmaster. There's a drop down menu to choose and one of the options should be "VIP."

The Facebook Presale just means that there is a code given out on Facebook when you "Like" the Live Nation page. I posted the link to the LV FM page above. I'm just assuming right now that the presale code is "MAC" because that's what it was on the first leg.

I have another newbie question for you guys...is buying tickets through StubHub safe? How does it work? I would hate to get to the door and find out I have a fake or non-transferable ticket. Missing the show AND losing a ton of money would be horrible!

There is NO risk buying from StubHub...if your tickets crap out at the door, you just call their customer service and you'll be upgraded to better seats. There is no upside to a seller cheating a buyer via Stubhub...the seller not only has the money taken out of their bank account-they also get banned from Stubhub.

Anybody used ticket liquidator before? I usually only use Stubhub but bought decided to go through ticket liquidator for the Pittsburgh show tomorrow. I am going to the fed ex to pick up the tickets I just worry because they don't seem to have the best reviews.

It's interesting to note in that last paragraph that the VIP service doing the meet & greet has changed from "Future Beat" to "On the List Presents." Maybe they did get complaints about wait times after all.

Nothing for me in the AMEX presale. Pulled a couple of floor seats way back, and then got "high demand" errors. Nothing came up for the M&Gs.

It's taking sooooo long for tickets to come up. The first one I got was for the upper deck at MSG for $221 each.

Had the exact same experience. Absurd. I'm going to three shows during this leg, but I think I'm only going to the next leg if I can get real good seats - which is apparently still quite difficult! :mad:

I'm not getting any floor seats in A B or C at MSG...the closer floor section.

And in the first tier, I keep getting the same sections on the far side of the arena, not close to the stage.

ETA: I got a 2nd row seat in Louisville for the M&G! :thumbsup: I have never splurged this much on a ticket before, but I decided to go for it this time. The closest I've been in the past was the 6th row, and Christine wasn't there.

Note to other AMEX presale buyers: if you choose "American Express Preferred Seating" option when buying, you may be offered good floor seats but at a cost of $3,250!! I finally chose "American Express Pre-sale" but by that time the lower level seats in St. Paul (@ $198) were 2/3 of the way back. I decided to get an upper-level seat closer to the stage for $98, which is OK since I was very close in Minneapolis on 9/30.

Oh man, I'm so glad I waited about 15 minutes into the sale. It was getting unbearable for me to always be seeing that never ending spinning circle. I was getting 200 level tickets initially too for the Rosemont show.

I almost bought tickets in the back of the arena farther back in a lower level section, but then a row AA came up in one of those sections and I snapped them right up. I was like what?! Even though it was in the back I've never gotten tix in the front row of a section before!:thumbsup:

Sierra- If you don't mind me asking- what was the price? I'm going to try during the next pre-sale (no AmEx card).

These prices are only for the 2/14/15 Rosemont show at the Allstate Arena (ticket prices vary by venue and city I've noticed. Please check with your venue website for specific details about your concert).

Without Ticketmaster fees: $189.50 (face value - i.e what's printed on the ticket)

With Ticketmaster fees: $189.50 + $14.50 (service charge) + $5.10 (order processing fee) = $209.10

This is just for one ticket.

And speaking of getting "print at home" versus a regular paper ticket, I just wanted to let some know who didn't that the option for getting a paper stock ticket is buried underneath the "other delivery options" on Ticketmaster. It will always default to print at home, so you have to click the other delivery options and hit "standard mail" to get them delivered.

After much stress I was able to purchase 2 Mick m&g front row tickets for the Providence show! I'm sure this concert will be cancelled for one reason or another, however.

Haha....so true. I wonder if anything special will happen. I saw the Mac minus Christine here for the first time last year. It's an all right venue. The United Center is better in my opinion.

Has a Facebook pre-sale code for Lincoln, NE been given? I didn't have such a hard time finding codes this close to the pre-sale date for the first round of tickets (I was unable to get tickets, however).

I had friends who bought Lincoln tix today. Nobody got better than 107. I was surprised.

I hate the Ticket Master system. I kept refreshing and the same tickets in the same sections keep showing up. It's pretty clear they only opened up a few parts of the stadium for the presale. I just wish you could zone in and pick your seats like you can do for a sports game.

That's exactly what they did. That's how it works unfortunately for pre-sales. They won't open the entire arena for anything because some of those tickets have already been bought by radio stations, promoters, and scalpers and because their website would crash from everybody trying to get on. I went on SeatGeek on Sunday night looking for a more detailed seating chart for my venue, and I saw there were already tickets being sold for seats in the 100 level on the sides and some on the floor, BEFORE the pre-sales had even started. Now if those were legitimate tickets I don't know.

I couldn't use the interactive seating chart for my venue because TM blocks it if there's "too many fans buying tickets right now." It wasn't until I went on later that I saw the interactive chart again.

But I understand your frustration, these so-called pre sales are sad because they give away somewhat good tickets and then there's nothing really good left when the general sale happens about a week later. Some people don't realize how these things work until it's too late.

Are there any other pre-sales this time around other than the AmEx one? I know last time there was the Facebook one, but haven't seen anything mentioned/passwords, etc.

I'm just assuming that the Facebook pre sale code is "MAC" because that's what it was on the first leg. Fleetwood Mac News recommends going on the Live Nation FB page and asking them for the pre-sale code for your specific one. I think you can only do this if you've "liked" the page though. I think there are different codes for different shows though. Keep digging around online.
