Love it!

Sounds fun, and Stevie's voice is perfect on this…..

goldenground 09-12-2014 01:52 PM

I didn't think I'd like it as I'm not really a fan of the song, but I'm pleasantly surprised by the clip.

BlueDenimLamp 09-12-2014 01:56 PM

Well there's the harmonies everyone has been complaining they haven't heard yet...

gypsy333 09-12-2014 02:00 PM

Lovin' This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :]:]

ViscountViktor 09-12-2014 02:06 PM

Always loved the demo, and, just like most of the other tracks so far, another quality job!

Christopher 09-12-2014 02:07 PM

Nice! Jazzy. 1920s inspired delish. The vocals & arrangement are spot-on.

markolas 09-12-2014 02:16 PM

I love this. Very 192os blues sound. I always liked the demo and am tickled ****less that she put it on an album.

I was wondering how Stevie's older voice would sound on this particular tune, and it actually fits the song so much better! While the style is a bit too Broadway/Vaudeville for my tastes, this is going to be such a fun little song all the same.

jwd 09-12-2014 02:31 PM

Spot on vocals and harmonies. I like this one. Very light, playful, and jazzy.

jkmaletic 09-12-2014 02:37 PM

I can totally picture myself singing this one to my 2 kitties at home. :D They're gonna love it!

Finally :)

Jondalar 09-12-2014 03:19 PM

Well I'm digging this. Her voice is rich and just perfect for this. The harmonies are the best I've heard so far.

MoonSister75 09-12-2014 03:41 PM

Love it!

Amazing!!! :) :) :)

TheWILDheart 09-12-2014 03:54 PM

Well I LOVE the vocal on this!!

desertangel 09-12-2014 04:32 PM

This is great! I love this clip.

I'm imagining all the clips we've heard so far and thinking this album is going to be rich with texture. All of her albums have texture, but they're usually the ballad/rock-type textures. IYD has some Dave Stewart-influenced funkiness and that was great too. I love Stevie's jazzier compositions and would love to hear her do more good ol' fashioned blues too. I'm so excited for this new album! The Instagram clips was a fantastic idea.

BombaySapphire3 09-12-2014 04:39 PM

Wow!..great job all around on this one..and better than I expected.

sorcerer999 09-12-2014 05:12 PM

Totally and thoroughly SURPRISED at how amazing this song sounds! I'm usually not keen on standards, jazz or vaudeville...but this one had me snapping my fingers and humming along. She sounds spot on! The harmonies with the girls is killer (and seems to help Stevie's "higher register" play out a little more "pleasing" ~ even though there's a slight strain, which makes it all the more endearing) and last but not least, she's only singing this song ONE NOTE LOWER than the original demo!!! I thought for sure there would be a really dramatic lower key change, but there's not. :D

Ok, it took a minute. BUT, I am now officially ECSTATIC about "24 Karat Gold" !!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this snippet of "Cathouse Blues". It has ALWAYS been one of my favorite demos.........and I'm so happy that it's made the record. I can't WAIT to hear the full version.

pattyfan 09-12-2014 07:03 PM

I love the original, and I think I'm going to love this version too. Cool :)

BTW, here is my guess for how the arrangement on the CD will be.

After "but she's awake and night and she'll be gone" they will do a solo, then do a repeat of "Blue gray, eyes that say" until "but she's awake and night and she'll be gone" again, and then to go the end, just like in the original version. In other words, if the "blue gray" part is the chorus, then they will just add a solo and a repeat of the chorus after the first chorus. It'll be the shortest track on the CD at around 2:30. :)

That's my guess. :) Of course, knowing Stevie, she wrote 10 other verses, Sharon found them on a reel to reel in an old trunk, and now the song clocks in at 8:56 :)

I love this!

This whole album seems to have an atmosphere that a Stevie Nicks album hasn't had before, and it's very authentic. I am loving all the reality of her voice, and how intimate the vocals sound on every song so far. Like she's up front, right there. Like a demo.

Lisa W 09-12-2014 09:20 PM

I like the sound of this snippet so much more than the demo! It also leaves me feeling that this is going to be a very diverse set of song styles which is wonderful. I love that her voice is so prominent in the mix for each song.

SpyNote 09-12-2014 09:38 PM

The vocal sounds good. It always makes me smile when I can hear some tones of her old voice.

Lol. Don't forget the 9-minute vocal ad-lib. Seriously though, the harmonies and percussion are a nice touch. So far, so good. :D

sorcerer999 09-13-2014 12:46 AM

I made a mistake earlier. Upon further inspection, and repeated listenings, it seems that Stevie is indeed singing the song in the same exact key as the original demo!!! AMAZING!!!

Jondalar 09-13-2014 01:16 AM

when should we start receiving our purchases?

SorcererJP 09-13-2014 06:03 AM

Give this woman another bottle of Jack Daniels and a box of heavy smokes to make her voice more raw and raspier. I loved the demo for over two decade and this version just kills me ...

WOW , cannot wait for the real thing.

wheart 09-13-2014 06:38 AM

it sounds bloody fantastic!!!! I don't even remember the demo but I love it so far. And what's with that high note she hit in the beginning of the snippet? Wasn't expecting that at all!

sleepless child 09-13-2014 08:07 AM

I really like the sound of this.:]

Where's the photo of the blue cat from?

Artemis 09-13-2014 11:46 AM

I so hoped the snippet would be the first glorious "I got the caaaaaat hooooooouse bluuuuuues" part, but it's done it's job, I can't wait to hear the full thing!
