24KtG vs. new FM Songs
So, which (if any) demos do you think are most likely to be passed over for 24KtG in favor of finding a home on the new Fleetwood Mac album, and why? Or do you think she'll write all new material for FM, because of what she's doing for the new solo album?
My most likely guesses: 1. If You Were My Love Wasn't this one almost on Mirage? 2. All The Beautiful Worlds According to this site, it was recorded for SYW... 3. Any/all of the Rhiannon Songs, especially if this is to be the last FM record as some have speculated. |
If the FM contributions are all new songs, they will most likely pale by comparison with the 'vault' compositions. I don't think Stevie is incapable of writing great songs anymore, it's just that her focus these days is seemingly on conjuring up commercial pop moments that just leave me cold. I hope to be proven wrong though...

I disagree; I believe Stevie still has the potential to write songs that could be future classics. She wrote some great songs on her last album.
Did Fleetwood Mac really record/or attempt to record a version of All The Beautiful Worlds for Say You Will? It's the first time I have heard about that. Any of those songs would be at home on a Fleetwood Mac album. Since Stevie is taking stock of her back log of songs for her new album, I wouldn't be surprised if something familiar to us shows up on a new Fleetwood Mac album. But I hope she will write something new too. |

Another way of looking at this is that she is clearing out her backlog of OLD songs that she didnt want LB to get his hands on and change. She likes the way her production teams does her songs, FINALLY after all these years and says the sound the way she wants them to be. When her music gets sucked into FM it gets changed, sometimes for the better, sometimes for worse. I think this way she can give fresh, new words or poems or demos to FM and be much happier with the way they come out.
ALSO, the Ledgies will have nothing to complain and B1tcH about when FM records and "OLD DEMO" and "RUINED IT OMG!". It will be fresh to our eardrums and we will be thankful for something rather than nothing. |

My guess is that "Moe" saw this and included these two tracks on HIS fake list. Howard Cohen must have seen this list and thought it was correct, since he hadn't been given a FULL list yet. Which is why later on, he tweeted, "I'll need the deluxe version as I want Watch Devil. Forest of Black Roses didn't make it, I see." Hope this clears up some confusion. I doubt that someone who works for the Miami Herald would lie about the fact that they spoke to Warner Brothers and confirmed those two tracks. |

This is probably a long shot, but I hope Cecilia makes it onto one of the upcoming records too. To me, those two songs "go together." |

@HowardCohen So u confirmed with WB that WatchDevil & Dealer are definitely on new album? Last 3 tracklists have been fake, including Moe's to which he replied... @DaveyPants999 Yes, confirmed. The Dealer is opening track. Watch Devil is on deluxe version only. Will receive advance shortly. Interesting that he confirms Watch Devil as only being on the bonus disc, since Moe's fake list also had the same. Coincidence? |

This track list drama has generated as much duplicity and intrigue as the Manchurian Candidate.

As weird as it is, I'm just really hoping for Mabel Normand, Night Gallery, Gypsy Beggar - any of those weird RAL demos that always sound like crap.

Didn't Stevie write "My Mother's Ring" after her mom passed away? I'm thinking Stevie has a few new contributions for the new FM album.

I think Stevie has new songs kicking around, although I don't know how old they're allowed to get before they become "vault" songs, in all honesty. She's probably written a few with Dave just by spending so much time with him. It's all a question of what ends up working with the band. Which, to be honest, is anybody's guess.

As for the much talked about record FM is promising will be out early next year (and I still have serious doubts they will have it done in time)...
Does it really matter when Stevie's songs are written? It's going to be more important finding out what impact Dave Stewart producing will have on her FM songs VS when they were written ... |
