hi d- wonderful find. confirms many things peter has often said about that period - that i never completely believed because of the lack of documentation etc - like that's when he played his best, played w/o mistakes and so on

great photo too

john altman is a really interesting person! a couple of years i read a wild note he'd had written about ollie halsall http://www.olliehalsall.co.uk/ollieandali.htm

Is it really a photo? It seems it could just as well be a screenshot taken from a 24mm film. You can seen the next frame at the bottom of the still.
If so........ oh my God, wouldn't it be nice (Beach Boys, lol) if it were a film and could be made public?????

sharksfan2000 05-30-2014 08:23 PM

Not sure whether the photos in these links have been posted here before - I saw them about a year ago - but here are three more shots from the 100 Club:

http://www.classicrockimages.co.uk/c...6&prodID=31183

John Altman (who played with the Brunning Sunflower Blues Band) and Duster Bennett can be seen along with Peter in these photos.

Most likely it's from a contact print / contact sheet.

Yeah, that sounds plausible. Alas....

I see now that I did post those 100 Club photos last year, but not this one (which I can no longer find on the web but downloaded last year).

Er.. no such thing Vouter 16mm or 35mm for movies !!

However, it is intruiging ,cause ,if it is a contact print taken from the still negs ,then it's a contact STRIP rather than a contact sheet which is unusual , though possible (unless the several strips of neg were spaced very far appart on the contact paper or only one neg strip was printed onto a large contact paper -all possible ). If it was 16mm movie film B&W positive light would hve to be shone through it to get the image we see ,but then you might expect to see light coming through the sprocket holes -which you don't .So I'd go for it being a contact STRIP and there are obviously other images on that strip ..............

Thanks, a great find :).

This proves that Mick Fleetwood in 1970 was only after money.

Peter Green leaves FM at the pinnacle of their success in America with the new Boston Tea Party album. Mick Fleetwood didn't allow that album to be released in any condition until Lindsay Buckingham left FM in '85. I get around late 1969, Peter Green was still trying to be the modern Neil Young. Mick Fleetwood wanted to make money. Now Mick Fleetwood regrets those days, and speaks of how Peter Green was brilliant. Mick drove him out. Live with it, Mick.

You mean like the "End of the Game" sessions?

becca 07-26-2014 04:59 PM

Those photos really speak of Peter's enjoyment in playing and jamming. When it became work with pressures and schedules it took away from that and he wanted to get it back.

Ollie Halsall was a great player too in Timebox and (minus one member) Patto! I think there was an excellent article on the group(s) in a Shindig, Flashback or Ugly Things not too long ago. I want to hear everything Timebox/Patto or Rutles!

No, I mean the gigs he did with Nick Buck or one of the benefit gigs.
