Will the Country World fully accept Stevie?

Crap! Can't fix redundant error in title!

This question came to mind while I was watching the Country Music Awards show. Sheryl Crow, who was nominated for her recent country album. There appeared to to complete acceptance of her as a cross-over country artist.

I see Stevie as slightly less commercially mainstream than Sheryl, but I believe she will be equally embraced by that community. I won't be surprised if this album becomes a big deal. A smart move for Stevie.

Given her much cited early country influences, and a dozen or so of songs in her canon that- if not pure country - are heavily influenced by it, her intentions for this album seem very authentic.

Props to Dave Stewart to motivating her and showing her there are ways to record albums in a short time and concise manner.

Christine's unexpected reappearance has certainly collided with this solo suprising solo project. I hope Stevie's involvement with Fleetwood Mac's new album doesn't turn into a "Tango" situation. I have faith Stevie will carry her weight. The stakes are really high now because now they have increasingly little time to waste time. I don't think Stevie will sabatage what may be their last album.

sorcerer999 05-19-2014 06:38 PM

I'm confused. Are you implying that 24 K Gold: Songs from the Vault is going to be a country album?

Since she is not technically releasing a "new" record and probably isn't planning on having a hit single it's quite possible some of the songs will reflect her country leanings...If Bella Donna were re-mixed or re-recorded with a few slight changes it probably would be received quite well by the country community...

Look at how well "Landslide" was received...This is from Stevie's Wikipedia page...The Dixie Chicks covered her 1975 classic "Landslide", which became a Top 10 hit (#1 on the Adult Contemporary chart) and a No.1 Hit on the Country Chart. This cover also earned her a BMI Songwriters Award in 2003 when it won "Song of the Year" (the award is given to the songwriter of the track, regardless of the performer). According to BMI, "Landslide" also earned Nicks the 35th Robert J. Burton Award as "Most Performed Country Song of the Year". This distinction is given to the song tallying the most feature US broadcast performances during the eligibility period. Included on the Dixie Chicks' platinum Monument album Home, "Landslide" was a Country, Adult Top 40, Hot 100 and AC Billboard charts smash...

If "24 Karat Gold" does well it will provide a lot of momentum for FM to build upon with the fall tour and new album...

My assumption was that this is going to be a heavily-leaning country inspired album
I absolutely depise the dreadful title; so cliched, presumptous and pedestrian. Was any thought and effort made at all to come up with a more imaginative/unique title?
The last thing I want her to do is to rehash her old material (other than re-release her back cataglog, cleaned up and with lots of bonus material).

The title might change...I have no problem with her recording a countryish album so long as Stevie stays away from the current "Nashville corporate sellout sound" and sticks to her own brand of "little country songs"...Why? Because I like her 'little country songs" and I wish she would do more of them so I'll take whatever she want's to put out...

BombaySapphire3 05-19-2014 08:59 PM

She recorded the album in Nashville because that is where her producer's studio happens to be .There is no reason to believe that this album will be any more or less country than any of her albums.

Macfanforever 05-19-2014 09:04 PM

It would be a dream come true.

It would be a dream come true.I must of said that a million times on this forum.LOL.

Stevie on the Grand Ole Opry.I'll be there.

Sorry guys.I hope this up coming LP is loaded with country tunes.

Yes I dont see why not.She would be a hit if "After The Glitter Fades" was released today If she was her age when the Belladonna album was released.

As we know she will be 100 percent better what we see now on the country charts.I'm not saying this because its Stevie behind the mike. She can sing without the bells and whistles like these manufactured country artists out there now.

ATGF did peak on the country charts around 71 in 1982 as I remember. The locals did play the tune.Leather and Lace was played on the local country station at the time too.

If she wants to get on the charts.Country is the route to go.I say the same for FM too.

Her tunes probably sound too country for todays country music standards.
Today's country sounds like rock and roll.

Plus her other country flavored tunes from her solo plus FM tunes.

Yes here I go about radio again.LOl.......

With the target radio audience demographics of age 18 to 49 where the advertising bucks are plus radio dont like playing new music from older artists which I think its age discrimination .I hate to say it .They probably round file her new CD like regular formatted stations did with her IYD CD.

I'm out of that range. They dont give a rats a$$ about us old geezers and old artists that we love as we know.

I agree what the results with Landslide with the Chicks. It was a killer on all of the charts and Stevie enjoyed it too.

Bandon 05-19-2014 09:20 PM

After the Glitter Fades would have done better on the charts in 1982 but Fm released Hold Me and ATGF fell.

1. Again Stevie needs to stay away from the current country schlock and that includes the "Opry"...But she should do a show at the Ryman like Neil Young did and put it put out on DVD...

2. Like I said if Bella Donna were to be re-mixed to give it a little more of a country sound than it already has I think it would do well if re-released...Or and I hate to even think of this happening with Bella Donna...There were to be one of those ghastly country tribute records where the trendy country stars cover a iconic record (Thank goodness the country "Rumours" tribute record never got finished)...Even though I dislike the concept of a Bella Donna country tribute I think it would sell well...

3. Yes and how many awards and millions of dollars did that bring Stevie...

WatchChain 05-19-2014 09:45 PM

Several of Stevie's compositions are essentially just country songs. I've ALWAYS thought of her as a country singer. Yes, she can "rock a little" at times, but at her root, she's just a "dance hall girl" singing in front of a steel guitar and mandolin. My favorite Stevie Nicks Country songs are:

After the Glitter Fades
Rose Garden
Landslide
Silver Springs
Angel
That's Alright
Garbo
Sleeping Angel
For What It's Worth
Too Far From Texas
Leather & Lace

I agree. Dave Steward's Blackbird Studios just happens to be in Nashville. I have no reason to think that Stevie is necessarily recording a country album. I certainly don't think it will be marketed to mainstream pop/country radio.

Right.. it is an album full of songs that she wrote for the most part decades ago which Dave has already referred to as "classic Stevie Nicks"Sure there will be some country elements ..that is part of her sound but I don't expect anything to sound as if it is geared toward current country radio..and that is a very good thing.

Blackbird Studios is owned and was created by producer, John McBride, Martina's husband. He and Dave are really close and that's why Dave records all this stuff there.

I've lived in Nashville all my life ~ Even though country is still very much alive here, it has become more of an Indie/Americana/Prog Rock kind of town. Especially in the last 10 years.

Talented session players are EVERYWHERE ~ I'm sure that's why they were able to record quickly. I don't think, other than Waddy, that Stevie had her usual "Studio Posse" with her this time around. I think it was just the three of them (perhaps Christine?) and a slew of kick ass session players.

I also don't think this is going to be a country album. I can see her having the usual one or two country songs on the album, but I think it's gonna be your typical Stevie record.

You aren't kidding,, I remember looking at Billboard the week Hold Me debuted on the Hot 100 singles chart at #33 ATGF was right above it at #32 that week,..then promptly dropped off the chart as Hold Me continued to rise.

Yes I do agree about the current schlock of country artists.Stevie likes hanging with the young crowd of any music artists.I wish she can teach them to sing and write the right way. I'm not a fan of todays generation of so called country music.I rather hear the classics from the 1920's to 1980's with a dash of the 1990's.

Probably Lady A is one of the only current country bands that I follow.

Yes I love to see a country tribute of Belladonna But from older country artists.
That why I made the comment on todays manufactured country artists.I dont see any country in them.

I was wondering about the Rumours country tribute. That sucks that it did not get up and going.Maybe Dave could give it a jump start.

Get Paulette Carlson She would do great with Stevie song .She looks like Stevie and sounds like Stevie.Wynonna could do a kicka$$ cover of Stevie's tunes.

As I remembered .My friend complained that IYD did not rock for him and he said there is no meat on it and it could pass as a country or easy listening music. He hates country but love FM and Stevie's older tunes.

Jondalar 05-20-2014 04:59 AM

maybe - country is not country, its full of rock wannabes

Yes your are right on that one.I went to a Keith Urban concert a few years ago and I thought I was at a hard rock concert. My friends walked out I end up staying to the end to hear him out.I like his music but some of his tunes are to rocky and loud.

Yes I agree. As far we know .She could be recording a jazz or a classical album.

Alot of horns in jazz and classical pieces.

Linda Ronstadt's and Rod Stewart's classical albums were great.

It's apparent now that country music has adopted of a lot of pop/rock sensibilites, yet rock and roll always flirted with country/blues influences. The lines are so blurred now, classifying any style of music as either country or rock is rather dubious. Is it country rock or rock country?

Sheryl Crow straddles those two worlds. Primarily considered a rocker, yet she released an album that clearly caters to a country audience. As a result, she was embraced by the country world, nominated for an award, and sat in the audience as one of their own.

Stevie's country influences have alway been there. While her new album will likely not be a direct and defined country album like Sheryl's album, I can't help but think that recording in Nashville will have a influential impact on the style of music.

I think the music being made for this album is going to be a big surprise. Kudos again to Dave Stewert for inspiring and pushing Stevie into new ways of approaching the recording process. Otherwise, we would not have In Your Dreams, nor this new album. After all, not too long ago Stevie was ready hang it up, convinced that no one was interested in new music or buying CDs.

Digital media seems so souless to me. I love reading liner notes, appreciciating the artwork. Just the act of holding the work in your hands, opening it, smelling it, reading the liner notes and lyrics, appreciating the artwork that gives visual context to the music, physically putting it on the record player or in the cd player --- You gain a more intimate connection with the artist and the music. (Even more so when the artist is directly involved in the design.).

I just bought the two new CDs - Aimee Mann/TedLeo's The Both, and The Black Keys' Turn Blue. I will get the vinyl versions eventually. I still get the same euphoria I did when I was a kid in the seventies, bringing home a new LP album - the excitement of rippping off the plastic, playing the record while sitting on the floor, absorbing all the visual information on the cover, paying attention to every detail.

Music may be easier to obtain with technology, but it's much less intimate, and thus, more disposable than ever.

Just the thought of a Bella Donna country tribute album by what passes for country artists today is enough to make me wish my steadily fading vision would hurry up and go and take my hearing with it. The last thing I think I'd ever want to hear (or see) is such an amazing record as Bella Donna fall victim to the "country tribute" machine. I don't know which thought is worse, that or the Miley Cyrus version of Bella Donna. I could see the tribute selling reasonably well.

All joking aside, I think with the proper songs and proper production Stevie might be able to turn out a record that could be accepted by modern country music (which IS full of rock wannabes, I agree with that wholeheartedly). She's said many times her roots are in country music thanks to her grandfather. Some of her past songs have had a very definite country flavor to them. They were classic Stevie that just about every fan still loves to this day and lists as some of her greatest compositions.

I don't think I could ever actually think of a Stevie Nicks record as "country" even if that was the market it was specifically geared toward. For the past 40 years with songs like Landslide, ATGF and L&L I'm used to Stevie having that "sound" and only her singing about tractors, pick-'em-up trucks, drinkin' beer down by the crick and hound dawgs bayin' at the moon would make me stop and think "woah, this is COUNTRY" instead of "oh, new Stevie Nicks record!". ;)

It's bad enough that Miley apparently can't be bothered to learn the lyrics to "Landslide" and has to read them on her iPhone in concert...

I agree with yours and "PenguinHeads" posts and I don't think Stevie has to go country in order to have a country hit record...With the state of country music these days I think all Stevie has to do is record her little country songs like she's done in the past with just a little more emphasis on sounding country and she'll be noticed and accepted by the country music community without loosing the things that make her Stevie Nicks...

In a mid-1980s interview, Stevie spoke about how RAL was her "rock" album, and hypothesized that her next album could be a country album. Don't get me wrong, I love TOSOTM, but a late '80s klonopin-free country album from Stevie could have been pretty spectacular.

I like playing Stevie country connections. Has anyone checked out who her official twitter follows before? I have. There's some fun things in there, including a fair number of country connections. See?

John McBride - Sound engineer and so on. Co-owns and works at Blackbird Studio in Nashville. Martina McBride’s husband.

Phoenix Stone - Nashville-based country musician that I wasn’t aware of. Had to laugh at the lyrics of ‘Radio On’, which even has a lovely Johnny & June reference.

Little Texas - Country music band founded in Nashville in 1988. Signed to Warner Bros. in 1991.

Jessie Baylin - A fun fact. The Sheryl Crow account that the @realstevinicks account (which, btw, I'm 99% sure was run by the same person who runs @lndsybuckingham) follows? Follows Jessie. The official Stevie account? Follows Jessie. Jessi Nicks? Follows Jessie. And Jessie’s husband, in fact. Some more fun facts? Jessie Baylin is based in Nashville, is married to a member of Kings of Leon, has worked and written with Norah Jones a lot, had Waddy play on her third album, has worked with Dave Stewart, and has covered 'Storms' and adores Stevie. She’s also friends with John Mayer, and said this:

"My friend John Mayer once told me, “Just write. Write as much as you possibly can. All the time.” Also, John knows I love Stevie Nicks, and one day when he knew he was going to see her, he bought a Moleskine for her to sign. He told her, “I know this girl who loves you and I really feel like you’re going to inspire her if you sign this. She’ll fill it up.” He then sent it to me with a note that said, “To help you on your way…” I opened it up and it said, “With love, Stevie.” The day I received the signed Moleskine, I wrote “The Glitter.”" [a song about her experiences on first moving to LA, lol]

She posted this on Twitter/Tumblr, replied to THIS on twitter, and her husband tweeted THIS to her when someone tweeted it to him, ha.

Sunny Sweeney - Nashville based country musician. Stevie is a hero to her.

CMT

Sarah Buxton - Country music artist based in Nashville. Keith Urban recorded a co-written song of hers called Stupid Boy - at the request of Nicole Kidman, and another called Put You In A Song. She’s also co-written several songs which have appeared on the TV show Nashville (which Callie Khouri - who happens to have known Carol Ann Harris back in the day - runs). Interestingly, Stevie was one of her heroes growing up:

“Stevie’s lyrics were like poetry,” explains Sarah, “so I started to write poetry of my own … full of angst, and confusion. And the more I became interested in artistry and disinterested in school activities, the more nervous my poor mother became!”

"At my high school, a group of my friends sang “The Chain,” which is a Fleetwood Mac song and I came home raving about it and my mom went to the record store and bought me Rumors, which is something she never did so it was very strange, I heard the album and immediately was like “Oh my God! That’s way better than what I just heard at the talent show!” I’ve always been a lyric reader and I guess it was the way they wrote the lyrics on there and just a name in bold at the top and I saw “Dreams – Nicks.” So I thought, wow, “Stevie Nicks” wrote that. There was something about the way she puts a melody with a lyric that made me just realize the personalness of it and realized that I’ve been writing in journals and poetry my whole life so why not put music to it?”

She’s even had the chance to chat with two of the members of Fleetwood Mac, who helped start her on this songwriting journey. “I met Lindsey Buckingham a few weeks ago and told him the whole story about ‘Showtime,’” she recalls. “I also met Stevie Nicks that summer after my senior year. I actually got to have a conversation with her that made me go, ‘You know, she’s just a person who made it happen. I better go do something, too.’”

After graduating high school, Sarah apparently got the chance to meet Stevie, who encouraged her to pursue music and move to Nashville. As per Sarah’s twitter: all hail the high priestess!

-

And because it's amusing information to have and my curiosity got the better of me the other day... Here's some other musicians she follows:

Dave Stewart

Rod Stewart

Pink

Jacqui Sandell - Appeared on Season 4 of The Voice, and covered Dreams. Stevie’s twitter account even praised her for it.

I have been a fan of Stevie’s since I was probably 10 years old when my sister got me into Fleetwood and subsequently all of Stevie’s solo material. In fact, the reason I wrote with Rick Nowels last time was because of his work on Stevie’s Rock A Little album. If you look at the credits on ‘Spin’ you’ll see I quote ‘Sara’ on there actually as a dedication to Stevie’s influence on me. If you ever get a chance listen to ‘I sing for the things’ and ‘Has anyone ever written anything for you’ off that album.

The "RealStevieNicks" twitter is a complete FRAUD!!! It was set up by Clayton Morris and the account info was given to Stevie or someone in her inner circle...
The info was then stolen or the account was hacked after which someone started tweeting first as Stevie then as Karen after people knew it was not Stevie...
This upset Stevie to the point that she issued her hand written "I DO NOT TWEET" letter...

http://i1361.photobucket.com/albums/...psb936a26a.jpg
The "RealStevieNicks" has not tweeted since July 18 2010 the day before Stevie issued her "I DO NOT TWEET" letter...

As far as the "verified" Stevie Nicks twitter goes I highly doubt Stevie has anything to do with it or even has a clue as to who @StevieNicks is following and whoever is doing the tweeting is completely clueless about how it should be used...Here's a perfect example...The Stevie twitter has not tweeted about hew new album or her ICON award or about the PSA she did to raise awareness about homeless veterans but they just tweeted about a tambourine Stevie signed for the "Tazzy Fund" which last time I knew was chaired by Mike Campbell and his wife...While it may be fun to see who the account is following and try and make a "Stevie" connection I don't see the @StevieNicks twitter as much more than a novelty right now...If Stevie herself were to start tweeting then I might take it seriously...

Yes, I'm well aware of the various twitter accounts, and this is merely a list of the musicians that the VERIFIED one follows. She's not as clueless as she seems in regards to technology, to be honest, and while I think they miss many, many opportunities to use social media well, I find it curious to see who 'she' (or her people, or Karen, or a WB intern or whomever) follow, that's all. Because it's not just people she's been working with, or celebrities who tweet her or whatever. There are quite obscure people on there and I think it's amusing. I certainly am not sat here going 'Oh, Stevie goes on Twitter and thought it would be fun to follow a professional wrestler/obscure country artist/Australian radio DJ who interviewed her/New Zealand new wave band/LA coffee shop and so on'. It's just fun; that's all. It's not really a 'novelty' at this point (thought it was FAR more amusing when they had the Annabel Lee tweets going; very kooky) - it's just a marketing tool that they should learn to utilise more effectively. Plenty of celebrities have their teams tweet for them all or much or the time - what's tweeted and followed can still be interesting. To me, anyway.

Why would you assume this to be a country album? I'm ODing on demos. I have been listening to them almost nonstop and I don't think it's going to be country at all. What I'm getting is heavily atmospheric music with a Cat Stevens vibe, who I think was a bigger influence on her than anybody ever imagined. This album will sound like classic Stevie Nicks in my opinion with edge of darkness.

P.S. Sheryl Crows country album tanked. It only sold 65,000. In Your Dreams sold better.

People assume it will be country because the recording studio is in Nashville which IMO is kind of silly.Christine recorded her 1984 album in Switzerland and I don't hear any yodeling on it.:laugh:I just wish Dave would put up a 30 second snippetof a song to put that idea to rest. Not to mention that I'm dying to hear how it does sound!

Of course they'd accept her.

The only person I can think of that country didn't accept was k.d. Lang, and that was their loss.

Alexia - Musician. She’s from Arizona.

Res - As per her twitter, “Lamont’s daughter, singer, songwriter and music selector. I am 1/2 of Idle Warship.” Her Stevie connection? Her most recent project was called Refried Mac.

Mindy White - Musician who who is a former member of Arizona-based indie rock band Lydia and current lead vocalist of the band States. Born in Houston and moved to Nashville at the age of five. Still based in Nashville, according to her Twitter account. She digs Stevie and her and friend Juliet Simms (best known for The Voice, I guess) gushed over her in the comments section, lol.

Joy Valencia - LA based musician who studied music production and engineering. Independent artist.

Paul Draper - Liverpudlian musician, songwriter and producer, best known for his work with rock band Mansun. Lived in Memphis and Nashville for some time in the 00s.

Darren Hayes - Australian singer/songwriter, best known as half of Savage Garden. He LOVES Stevie. Like really. He saw FM on the SYW tour and wrote this about it for an online blog:

On a personal note, I saw Fleetwood Mac in concert on Saturday night at Earls Court and finally met my goddess Stevie Nicks. Anyhoo.. my point is that I’ve loved Stevie for years and finally met her and it lived up to any ‘fan’ experience you might ever want. And I got some great advice. So Stevie, if you’re out there… you’re still the poet in my heart.

Twitter reference #1 is HERE. And when poor Darren died of envy at Keith Caulfield interviewing her, ‘Stevie’ was a dear and replied to HIM.

Cher - LEGEND. TWITTER QUEEN.

Lea Michele - Glee connection. Stevie also wrote e-mails & send gift to her in the wake of Cory Monteith's passing.

MDNAMafia

Papa Roach - Aww, I’d forgotten they even existed! A hard-rock band, of course. I’m very jealous because ‘Stevie’ sent them a DM earlier this year on Twitter. So random. I assume it was a VERY late reply to THIS.

Katy Perry - a more recent adoptee. Still amused at the John Mayer thing, considering SnL are both fans of him. Also, "No, you're gonna make ME roar."

Jimmy Star - As per his twitter, “Director of Operations of the Urban Division of The Spectra Music Group Largest Indie Record Label in the World”. Based in Philly, PA.

US Royalty - Washington, DC based indie rock band. They’ve covered Wild Heart a number of times live. HERE and HERE, for example. People have also compared their sound to FM before - particularly this song, Monte Carlo. One member said this about them:

"I remember, in 8th grade, a friend of mine taped this Fleetwood Mac PBS show around the time when The Dance came out, when they reunited,” Thornley tells SPIN. “I was so enchanted by this ‘Rhiannon’ song. They sounded like rock’n’roll, but they had this mystery to them.”

Joy Williams - Of The Civil Wars.

Bif Naked - Canadian singer-songwriter, actress and motivation speaker.

Hypnogaja - An LA based alt. rock band which started as an electronic studio project. They’re big fans of FM, Lindsey, and Stevie. They went to a concert in 2009, watched the Rumours era footage from Japan, got excited at shaking Lindsey’s hand, and went to Stevie’s show at the Wiltern in 2011.

Brandon Hilton
- Apparently a ‘pop/dance artist, songwriter, and actor’ as that’s what his twitter account says. He LOVVVVVVES Stevie.

Justin Warfield - Musician and hip hop emcee, who is currently half of a darkwave duo, which draws from groups like Joy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode, and Interpol. He joins a discussion which includes the topic of FM on this podcast.

Brian Ray - Session musician, guitarist, bassist, songwriter, musical director, etc. Best known for playing in Paul McCartney’s recording and touring band for over a decade now.

Kim Yarbrough - The Voice Season 2 finalist. Naturally, Adam was her coach. She’s also made guest appearances on various telly shows.

Foghat - British rock band who peaked in the 70s. So cool, Stevie. :D She attended a show of theirs in 1977 and there’s also THIS photo of her with them from back in the day.

The Raveonettes - Danish indie rock duo. Lots of good two-part harmonies and quite dark lyrical content. They love Stevie, as evidence by saying she sang like an angel when watching her in March. Were rumoured to be covering a song for that recent tribute album that people like Lykki Li were also on.

Diane Birch - She loves incense. Surely that’s enough reason for a follow? NYC based singer-songwriter. People have compared her voice to Stevie’s before. She partially covers Dreams HERE, and did a cover of Landslide which aired on NCIS: LA.

Jann Arden - Canadian singer-songwriter. She has covered Dreams on an album, interviewed Stevie on her radio show in 2011, and both of them performed at the Voices in the Park gig in Vancouver.

Smashing Pumpkins - Who of course covered Landslide, amongst many, many other awesome things they’ve done.

Filter - Industrial rock group formed in 1993 by Richard Patrick, who broke from Nine Inch Nails and formed a new band. Two former members have also played in Billy Corgan’s touring band. Patrick likes the guitar hook from Gypsy.

Jillian Jensen - Contestant on The X Factor in 2012; auditioned for American Idol XIII.

Melissa Etheridge - They both performed at an AARP event in NOLA in 2012.

The 69 Eyes - Sits nicely between the Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, no? :D They’re a Finnish band and the band’s fans describe their style as ‘goth ‘n’ roll’.

The Civil Wars - There’s a picture of her chatting with Joy at a Grammys afterpart which I ADORE. Her niece Jessi is also a big fan. Stevie’s compared them to Buckingham Nicks which is along the lines of what a lot of fan and media say. Info HERE.

Karsh Kale - Indian American Musician and producer. Pioneering figure in defining Asian Underground genre, and is also involved in table drumming and film composition. Can we play degrees of separation? Karsh Kale > Anouska Shankar > Norah Jones > Lindsey Buckingham is a fun way to go. :D He was VERY pleased to have Stevie follow him on Twitter. You can watch him perform HERE with a FM shirt on.

Kids of 88 - New wave duo based in Auckland, New Zealand. They cop to being brought up on many bands, including Fleetwood Mac.

Mackenzie Phillips - Actress and singer, who gained stardom in the 70s. Had drug and alcohol problems into the nineties. Phillips references Stevie’s ‘I Miss You’ in her autobiography (she played the song a lot in the wake of her feather’s death, identifying with the lyrics), and she mentions Waddy in it as well. Had mentioned S on Twitter a few times.

Corey Britz - Bass player for rock band Bush (headed by Gavin Rossdale, Gwen Stefani’s husband). They’ve covered Landslide before. More than once.

Fyrare - Rapper/singer/producer with Island Def Jam.

Lisa Lambe - Irish actress and singer. Member of Celtic Woman. She likes Stevie. A lot.

Amber Coffman - Member of The Dirty Projectors (a band Lindsey really likes, btw). Dressed up as Stevie for a Halloween gig in 2009.

Cyndi Lauper

Lady Gaga

There are other follows as well - a marketing dude for Warners, several venues, FM News and so on.

Holy Cow.Thanks Nicole for this info.Alot to read and study.

The info was then stolen or the account was hacked after which someone started tweeting first as Stevie then as Karen after people knew it was not Stevie...
This upset Stevie to the point that she issued her hand written "I DO NOT TWEET" letter...

I think the RealStevienicks account should of got deleted by Clayton,Twitter or whoever .Its confusing her fans.

"I do not TWEET" LOL . I love that .That makes two of us.As same goes for Face Book and MySpace too.

BTW .I always loved her beautiful handwritten letters.

I would question the authenticity of the Lindsey twitter because it's been active for 5 years without being "verified" and it doesn't link to a web site...

Is this the retweet you're referring to...

This is another bogus Stevie twitter...

And another bogus Stevie twitter...

Would Stevie ever say "My internet friend and iTunes" in the same sentence as well as "copy & paste" a link...

The multiple "Stevie twitters" were indeed confusing...Now that Stevie's twitter is "verified" it will be fairly difficult for someone to impersonate her and it will make it easy for fans to know it's actually Stevie's twitter...

As far as getting the fake twitters deleted I believe that someone from "camp Stevie" has to lodge a complaint with twitter that people are impersonating her...

Jondalar 05-22-2014 01:33 AM

This is definitely a country song. Maybe this will make the album. She could do the duet with a country star.
