Why would Stevie be performing with The Roots when Dave & Krist are on the same show...

louielouie2000 04-03-2014 08:34 AM

Stevie with The Roots? Sounds like a belated April Fools joke.

kak125 04-03-2014 08:37 AM

Ann Wilson was just on recently performing with the Roots. It was cool but I would have preferred her to just be the musical guest since she will only get to do a snippet of a song while going to or coming back from a commercial.

wheart 04-03-2014 09:12 AM

Stevie needs to be in the studio with The Mac, not doing all this promo stuff! There's nothing to even promote yet!

Maybe she'll be singing what she's going to sing for Linda Ronstadt?

Another reason I love NYC! I might try to get standby tickets for the hell of it, since they do ticket reservation a month in advance. I'll just have to leave work early for the taping, but why not?

It would definitely be interesting to see her with The Roots, but I agree with you @wheart - what is the point of her appearance? There's nothing to really promote.

Macfanforever 04-03-2014 11:15 AM

Thanks for the heads up.

I have not seen Jimmy's version of the Tonight show yet .Did he carry over his other skits and stuff from his old show.Roots are great.

I can do without Dave G if he is performing with her but I like hearing him when interviewed .

and do what sit around and get high ... she's not a musician so there is little or nothing for her to do until all the tracks are recorded and she can do vocals, and with ticket for Fleetwood Mac going on sale monday it will probably give sale a slight boost

Hahahahaha. She probably get board sitting around.

I LOVE all these odd little things she does. I loved her with Dave G. I loved her with Lady A. I loved her on American Horror Story. I loved IYD and Sound City. I really rather she keep dabbling in all these creative avenues. Really, how many times can we watch her sing Dreams and Landslide. Well...forever really, but you get my point.:o

BlueDenimLamp 04-03-2014 12:00 PM

She's on the same show with Dave Grohl coincidence or not? Maybe they are up to something...Music/grunge tour...

wondergirl9847 04-03-2014 12:36 PM

Hmmm

I'm wondering if perhaps she'll be singing in that segment that Jimmy likes to do with The Roots where they use kids' musical toys to make music? That might be super fun! :)

I think you're on to it Kevin. Stevie's doing the Ronstadt thing in nearby Brooklyn, NY on the 10th. She likes to shop in NYC, she likes the hotels there--might as well spend a couple of days and get some PR going for Fleetwood Mac at the same time. It's all good.

ChristyL17 04-03-2014 06:41 PM

Stevie on Jimmy Fallon next week

From Stevie's Facebook Page:

Stevie will be the musical guest on Jimmy Fallon this Wednesday, April 9th! She will be performing with her long time guitarist Waddy Wachtel and the amazing Roots.

good for her and Waddy, Roots are cool.

annabellee 04-03-2014 06:48 PM

Singing something from this century wouldn't kill her...

Phil 04-03-2014 07:18 PM

I wonder if it might be a Linda Ronstadt track, considering that the Hall Of Fame induction is due to occur the following day?

Macfanforever 04-03-2014 07:54 PM

I'm glad she will have Waddy there with her.

UnwindedDreams 04-03-2014 09:55 PM

She should perform "Gold Dust Woman" with Dave, Krist, Waddy, and The Roots like she performed it with the Sound City Players in 2013. THAT will get people psyched for the tour!!!

Macfanforever 04-04-2014 09:24 AM

I just got the news that David Letterman will be leaving his show in 2015.I hope Stevie gets on his show before he is done.I love when they joke around .I still pissed that the Tonight Show people did not book Stevie before Jay end his run on the Tonight Show.

I hope so. Dave Grohl's (with Stevie as one of the Sound City Players) version of Gold Dust Woman is quite Hendrix like and awe inspiring. Rock it on the national tv mama!

Stevie may announce she's done with the Mac studio squabbling and that she and Dave are starting a band called "Nicksvana"

[Spin Magazine discusses upcoming show]

http://www.spin.com/articles/nirvana...on-late-night/

It'll be Grohl and Novoselic's first public appearance together since winning Best Rock Song at this January's Grammys, but what this appearance will actually entail is unclear at this point, as Nicks is billed as the night's musical guest. Given, however, the Fleetwood Mac member's involvement in Dave Grohl's Sound City project — and the fact that we saw the pair perform "Landslide" together a year ago — further collaboration between the two wouldn't be a surprise.

Is Waddy in the Roots or is the Nicks Fix clueless...

Macfanforever 04-09-2014 04:09 PM

Who ever that gets in have fun.Later share the behind the scenes info with us.

loverly13 04-09-2014 04:34 PM

So they called the first 9. Then ended up bringing six "reserved but unticketed" people in front of us, took us all down to security, then said they only had 8 seats. Damn those jerks! Had it not been for them, I'd be in! But I'm not giving up just yet. I'm going to hang out then head to the exit talent usually leaves from justttt in case.

Oh that sucks.Keep trying.

What time do they tape the show?

I will set my recorders in case I doze off during the news before it starts.

I remember when Stevie guested on Jimmie's show, she told him, that someday he was going to be the next Johnny Carson! Does she really have a crystal ball? :D

Crystal f'n Visions

loverly13 04-09-2014 06:26 PM

She came and left through the garage, at least that's the general consensus. I saw a big van leave that probably was her, but called it quits after 45 mins after the show taping ended.

Spoiler alert:

She sang edge of 17
