Only 1 Texas date, and it's not until mid December? Oh well, gives me plenty of time to shore up my bank account for the undoubtedly higher "reunion prices." :p

StevieNicksfann 03-27-2014 08:24 AM

Is the tour called On With The Show?

New dates on Ticketmaster for Chicago say:

Fleetwood Mac: On With The Show

United Center, 10/2/14

kathy1 03-27-2014 08:25 AM

they are going to be in philly on oct 15 at the wells fargo center. might be going to that one. hoping for an atlantic city show.

ADAM_EVE 03-27-2014 08:30 AM

Toronto is $199 ($217.75 including fees) so they did jack up the prices. I hope this doesn't backfire on them. The economy in the USA is still not great, and this might hurt ticket sales in some markets.

WildHearted 03-27-2014 08:33 AM

Only 1 show in the ENTIRE southeast? (Florida doesn't count.)

It's in my city, but that means it's going to be a lot harder to get good tickets because all of the people from surrounding states are going to have to go to this one show...

Meanwhile there are 6 in CA. Okay.

FMlex 03-27-2014 08:33 AM

Came out of long retirement to say:

YEAAAAAAAH!!! :]

CADreaming 03-27-2014 08:34 AM

Christine hasn't toured in 15 years?

This is called getting your feet wet.

ADAM_EVE 03-27-2014 08:37 AM

Ottawa date added Oct 26th Fleetwood Mac is returning to Ottawa, and touring the rest of Canada.

The classic British rock band will play the Canadian Tire Centre on Oct. 26, with the reconvened lineup of Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, John McVie and Christine McVie.

Ticket prices and sale dates have not yet been released.

The band’s On With The Show tour will also play Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary Edmonton and Vancouver. See all tour dates and watch for ticket information at fleetwoodmac.com.

Additional dates seem to be trickling in. There was only 1 Texas date earlier (Dallas), and now Houston has been added too. I had the same reaction- we have over 25,000,000 people in this state. 1 date will not do it!!

The big question is... will Mick do another VIP Experience package? That was really a great way to get guaranteed front row without having to get too stressed out.

I see VIP package sale dates are listed on the Ticketmaster site, but no specifics yet. Pricing for regular tickets is $49.50-$179.50. Not nearly as bad as I thought!

Press release

Hello all---

Here is the text of the official press release.

It's great to hear that they're doing a tour, but does starting in what is essentially the beginning of October mean no new album? If so, that's not entirely great news.

Also, not to rain on the parade, but the whole Amex thing is just further proof that money is a big factor in this effort. These shows will surely sell out, and for those of us who don't use Amex, it essentially means we're going to end up paying premium prices at StubHub or elsewhere.

Not to mention the fact that tickets are going on sale 6+ months before the first shows. The Houston show is 8.5 months from the on sale date. That's just plain greed. They're trying to get all their money up front before they even start tour rehearsals.

Cheers,
matt

I find these extremely early ticket sales a bit odd, too. But here's my theory- they are doing it this way so they can finance recording. After all, I'm sure the band's days of seeing giant album advances is long over. They may not even have a record company contract until most of the songs are complete, either. There has to be a certain risk of an album not being completed- Christine high tailing it back to England, as an example. Maybe if these dates sell out quickly at this early of a date, it'll look encouraging to a record company. So perhaps this is all being laid out this way on purpose- to shore up their prospects with record labels.

HelloMonster 03-27-2014 09:12 AM

Guys! Mick is probably doing the VIP packages! Check his website, the dates have been added!

TM/Livenation holds the proceeds from ticket sales in escrow until the day of the show, so your theory is not correct.

Hi All.

Heres the FM Ticketmaster ad I captured as i was recording this mornings interview on WNBC channel 4 NYC.

I'm not a fan of fall, winter and early spring concerts due to driving in bad icy weather.I was hoping for a summer tour.

Uh guys,

none of these date/location combinations work for me, please go back and redo this list thanks. :sorry:

I think I'm going to go to the two Bay Area shows, especially since they are a week and a half apart. :) Has anyone heard anything about the pre-sales?

Well, 2 dates actually, but on consecutive days.

AGGHH!! I go to sleep and wake up to this?? :) Looking good for Aus/NZ early 2015 then...

michelej1 03-27-2014 01:21 PM

In one of the print interviews Christine said it would be a world tour, so we probably don't even have half of the dates that will eventually roll out.

Due too the Ridiculously High Ticket Prices ... it ensure it will sell ...giving the buyer time to save or to justify buy paying the minimum on a credit card ,

WildHearted 03-27-2014 02:00 PM

Christine mentioned that they were breaking for Christmas but then would return to the US to "finish up" after New Years... before eventually hitting the rest of the world.

So it seems there will be a second leg. Hopefully with more southern dates.

KenshiMaster16 03-27-2014 03:20 PM

Hopefully an NC date gets added post Christmas. Starting college in the fall and won't have the expenses or time to travel out of state for this one this go around and I'll be properly bummed if I miss Christine's grand return tour. :distress:

I Don't Know Why They Wouldn't Play Long Island!

I Guess Jones Beach Is Cold, But What About Nassau Coliseum

What About The Setlist?

jwd 03-27-2014 05:14 PM

I'm sure this is just one leg of "the tour". There will be more dates added next year. Don't be disappointed if you don't see your city on the list yet. Another way to look at it is, chances are they will have recorded some new material the next time they go out on the road, and THEY WILL, and you'll get to hear the new songs. That's my positive spin on it and I'm sticking to it!

welcomechris 03-27-2014 06:02 PM

Excerpt from USA Today

"We're being sensible about not overcooking the tour schedule," Fleetwood says. "I'm not comfortable doing five gigs a week. You get burned out. It would be stupid."

And the band's healthier habits should ease road stress, too.

"I don't drink like a fish anymore," Fleetwood says. "At 7 every morning, Chris and I are out on the lawn working out."

McVie says, "I need to be fit for this tour. I've never worked out in my life. This is the first time I've had a trainer or gone to the gym. I'm 70 and I need to be 45 again."

Fleetwood feigns shock and blurts, "You're 70, Chris? Oh, I've got to rethink this!"
