Fleetwood Mac's Sexiest Song

- and trying to avoid the 'define-sexy-debate', which FM song do you think is the most

seductive/alluring/luscious/exciting/racy/risqué/hot/horny/let's-get-dirrty

of them all?

My vote goes to Chris' Brown Eyes. So subtle, yet so full of longing and urging...

holidayroad 01-26-2014 01:20 AM

Brown Eyes
Tango in the Night
Big Love
In the Back of My Mind
Come

Johnny Stew 01-26-2014 01:33 AM

"Brown Eyes," absolutely. I also think "Sara" is a very sexy song. And I'd put in a vote for "Bleed To Love Her."

Jondalar 01-26-2014 01:40 AM

Tusk Tusk Tusk Tusk Tusk Tusk Tusk :)

TrueFaith77 01-26-2014 02:19 AM

Brown Eyes. Good call.

Brown Eyes is one of the sexiest songs I've ever heard :). It's just so slinky, so sensual. Suggestive without being filthy. I love it! :D

I don't necessarily think of Sara being sexy, per se. To me it's one of the one of the great romantic ballads of all time.

singertobe 01-26-2014 03:59 AM

Well Tusk is the only one about sex right? Fleetwood Mac is a pretty clean band. That's one of the things I love about them:nod:

Don't tell me otherwise. I really don't feel like having my innocence soiled.:distress:

Artemis 01-26-2014 05:26 AM

Well, I lost my virginity while playing Sara, so it'll always have a certain Je Ne Sais Quoi to me...

I'd give Brown Eyes a shout out though, so seductive.

Well there aren't too many about sex in the Rumours Era FM. Try the Peter Green stuff if you want to hear stuff about sex. Just think about Jeremy Spencer and the whole "come on baby, suck my knob" on Blue Suede Shoes...

WildHearted 01-26-2014 07:44 AM

I'd say Tango in the Night.

Although, sonically I think Gold Dust Woman is extremely sexy.

brickney723 01-26-2014 09:33 AM

Brown Eyes, then Sara.

ChickenStu 01-26-2014 10:49 AM

Massive Attack is the best band to listen to for that kind of thing...

So I'm told... ;)

Josh2003 01-26-2014 11:08 AM

Warm Ways

Although I think I'm alone in that sentiment.

Nope, not at all. I'm with you on that.

GypsySorcerer 01-26-2014 11:15 AM

"Brown Eyes," without question.

Honorable mentions:
"Tango in the Night"
"Over My Head"
"Bleed to Love Her"

elle 01-26-2014 12:38 PM

blatantly sexy (if we don't count Peter Green's songs of course... i mean Rattlesnake Shake?) - definitely Come.

Lindsey is in general into double meaning songs where one of the meanings is blatantly sexy while he will describe the song as meaning something completely different, deeply philosophical, and supposedly "not what you think" ;) :xoxo:. but i guess most of those examples are in his solo songs, other than something like Tango in the night. or Second Hand News, of course, where even he just came straight out and said that it's obvious what let me do my stuff in the tall grass means. :D

I guess it's in the eye of the beholder, but I'm interested to know how that song could be considered sexy? Sure, there's a crude reference to orgasm in the lyric, but I'm not convinced otherwise.

guessing you are talking about Come? let's look at the lyrics:

Think of me sweet darling when everything's going bad
Think of me sweet darling every time you're feeling sad
Think of me sweet darling every time you don't come
Can you feel the fever?

Think of me sweet darling every time things get rough
Think of me sweet darling when the best just isn't enough
Think of me sweet darling every time you don't come
Can you feel the fever?

'Cause nobody else is doing it
Nobody else is doing it no no
Thought that our harmony was the new harmony
Lord it was a little too strange
And the band played on

I said I was going to put God away she's been here a while
Living in the guest room I guess she goes in style
I said I was going to put God away but I just can't let her go
Can you feel the fever?

Now I lay me down to sleep in this enemy bed
Tomorrow morning I will wake up hurting from the things we've said
One thing leads to another but I guess you know about that
Can you feel the fever?

'Cause nobody else is doing it
Nobody else is doing it no no
Thought that our harmony was the new harmony
Lord it was a little too strange
And the band played on

and maybe you want to check 7:25-7:30 here noted by some reviewers as, well -

Ulpian 01-26-2014 01:05 PM

^ You and I just have different concepts of 'sexy'!

I find the song pretty repugnant. ;)

possibly, but i'm not necessarily talking about my concepts here, just very general and blatant. as the opening post nicely said:

Yes. I know the op wanted us to avoid a debate on the meaning of "sexy" but I'm not entirely sure how we can really avoid that.

Come is certainly a sexual song. Lindsey wrote it all about sex, certainly. But "sexy" is something different, to me. And among the op's list of adjectives (seductive/alluring/luscious/exciting/racy/risqué/hot/horny/let's-get-dirrty) Come basically doesn't fall under any of them, to these ears. Except perhaps, "racy".

I would echo the chorus of those who say Brown Eyes and Sara.

Artemis's post kind of makes me want to go back in time and lose my virginity while listening to Sara. I lost it listening to my ex-partners roommates trip out on ecstasy through the walls. Not quite the same effect.

i agree with sexual, and also bolded the other adjectives you can consider it under, especially if you isolate certain lyrics. everybody seems to be focusing on one word in that song. but, "can you feel the fever"? maybe *you* can not? or you might if the same message was delivered by a different messenger?

oh talking about a different messenger - just remembered but i won't even say anything about a certain WY lyric. people have been debating whether that one was intentional or not.

brickney723 01-26-2014 01:31 PM

I remember reading when Lindsey left in 1987 he was saying how he could now focus more on his own artistic statements when going solo- when asked what those statements would be, he said "lust, longing and loneliness." I was thinking, when was it you did not write about these things?!? He's got more songs about blatant sex than anyone else. Sexy means sensuous to me though.

Dex 01-26-2014 01:33 PM

I think for me a song's sexiness just has much more to do with sonic qualities than lyrical content. When I'm thinking of a "sexy" song I'm thinking of the "feel" of it on my eardrums, which doesn't have much to do with the literal meaning of the words.

Sara, for example, is mostly about a broken down relationship and its end. Is that a particularly sexy concept to me? No. Do I consider Sara a sexy song? Absolutely. I'd love to f*** to Sara. Maybe that makes no sense at all, but heyo.

Makes total sense. That's the reason Sara is so sexy, it's the feel of the music.

Agreed. I think Come is angry, defiant, and yes, sexual...but not "sexy."

singertobe 01-26-2014 02:49 PM

Oh my gosh! You guys really have your mind in the gutter!

HelloMonster 01-26-2014 03:34 PM

Sara is the furthest away from sexy as possibe, in my opinion. No.

I think Caroline is sexy: the heavy, rhythmic beat, and how the lyrics imply Caroline has a hold on the singer, even though he knows he shouldn't. "Keeps on coming, keeps you running"... "so attractive, so reactive"... "Cut the cord if you can." Caroline also has a belly-dancer type sexual vibe throughout it! If I were a stripper, I'd consider this song a good one to dance to.

BombaySapphire3 01-26-2014 07:37 PM

As far as vocals and overall production of the song I'm going to go with "Dreams".

golddustwoman77 01-26-2014 08:07 PM

Sexual: Come

Sensual: Beautiful Child, Oh Daddy, Over My Head

Sexual and Sensual are different things to me.

Villavic 01-26-2014 09:20 PM

When I didn't speak/understand english, I found DREAMS sexy. Sensual voice.

lovethemac1 01-26-2014 09:45 PM

Crystal
Come
Caroline
Tango in the night
Silver springs
Blue denim-I know it's a Stevie song but I love that it's about Lindsey
I'm so afraid

Angel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nN8MvFQKtz8

Sometimes the most beautiful things
The most innocent things
And many of those dreams pass us by
Keep passing me by

You feel good
I said it's funny that you understood
I knew you would
When you were good
You were very, very good

So I close my eyes softly
'Til i become that part of the wind
That we all long for sometime
Yeah

And to those that I love
Like a ghost through a fog
Like a charmed hour and a haunted song
And the angel of my dreams
Talking 'bout my angel of my dreams

(You said) you feel good
I said it's funny that you understood
I knew you would
When you were good, baby
Mmm, you were very good

I still look up
When you walk in the room
I've got that same wide eyes
I guess they tell some story

I try not to reach out
When you turn around and
You say hello
And we both pretend
No great pretender

So I close my eyes softly
'Til i become that part of the wind
That we all long for sometime

And to those that I love
Like a ghost through a fog
Like a charmed hour and a haunted song
And the Angel of my dreams

Angel of my dreams

I still look up
oh yeah

I try hard not to look up
Ooh, yeah

That girl was me
Yeah, yeah, yeah

We'll track a ghost through the fog
La,la la

We'll track a ghost through the fog, baby
Yeah, yeah, yeah

We'll track a ghost through the fog, baby

Ooh, you try hard
But you'll never catch me
Yeah

Woohoo

Well that girl, that girl was me
Yeah

Well that girl, that girl was me

We'll track a ghost through the fog

WatchChain 01-29-2014 09:27 PM

without a doubt, "HYPNOTIZED".

bluefox4000 01-29-2014 10:48 PM

Tango in the night for me.

Mick

Dreamz19 01-30-2014 03:20 AM

For some of these songs, it is the vocals/music that makes them sound sexy to me.

Sexy/Sensual

Brown Eyes
Only Over You
Woman of 1000 Years
Dragonfly (live version)
Tango in the Night
Caroline
Bad Loser
Gold Dust Woman
Sara

Edit: Forgot to add Big Love and Mystified.

Sexual/Racy

Come
Second Hand News.

redbird 01-30-2014 03:32 PM

"Brown Eyes" hands down!

"Dreams" is sexy too, the sound of it anyway. "Woman of 1000 Years". "The Way I Feel". I could see "Hypnotized" and a few on Tango too.

"Tusk" is pretty horny fwiw. "Oh Daddy" has a great slinky lights-off sound but the words don't lend themselves to sexiness IMO.
