Thanks for the post!

What's more, the second season of Oprah's Master Class will showcase still more household names, including Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Stevie Nicks, Diahann Carroll and Susan Sarandon, music mogul Berry Gordy, supermodel Cindy Crawford and journalist Tom Brokaw. New episodes of Oprah: Where Are They Now? will focus on Apprentice alum Omarosa, rapper Bow Wow, Octomom Nadya Suleman, Dennis Rodman, Gennifer Flowers, Heidi Fleiss and Columbine Families. Both programs will return in March.

It says Lenny Kravitz and Stevie Nicks... does that mean we'll get half an hour Kravitz and half an hour Stevie??? Kind of confusing

SummerlongBoots 01-06-2013 02:07 PM

Guess those rumors about "filming for the Oprah Show" during her concert in Saint Petersburg, FL were true! Maybe you'll see me making a fool of myself! :blob2:

I think they've grouped the various "types" of people together.

Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Stevie Nicks - musicians
Diahann Caroll and Susan Sarandon - actresses
Berry Gordy - music mogul
Cindy Crawford - supermodel
Tom Brokaw - journalist

But, it could also be that the ones who have no comma separating them are part of the same show. Either or.

Looks to me like Stevie has her own episode. Season 3, episode 3, is labelled only 'Stevie Nicks'.
I'm pretty excited for this by the way. I like the idea of Stevie telling us stories from her life and lessons she's learned. Stevie is literally what inspired me to go to rehab and get clean off opiates and coke. I always tell people that she saved my life.

mitzo 01-06-2013 03:16 PM

Cool, but what is this program, exactly? A kind of interview thing with Oprah, where one discusses one's career and success and struggles and so on?

If it's like the other Master Classes, it's a first person account basically of their lives... It's an interesting concept and the few I've seen were cool to watch. For instance here's Jon Bon Jovi. Oprah narrates the set up then lets the artist take off speaking... You don't hear the questions being asked to prompt them to speak about themselves, they just speak.

Hmmm, unique. It would be really interesting to see Stevie in a format like that one.

Shall we start the betting on how many times Stevie says "Lindsey" in her telling of *her* life?

"Lindsey and I moved to Los Angeles."

Macfanforever 01-07-2013 02:59 AM

I hope somebody will post the show.I dumped extended basic cable TV.

PolishStevieFan 01-07-2013 03:51 AM

This programme will work fine to promote Fleetwood Mac's tour.

haha this could turn into an interesting drinking game ;)

i've never watched Oprah's Master Class before, so i've been going through some clips from Goldie Hawn's episode. i really like the format, but it made me wonder...do you think this will bring forth any new information we don't already know? it does seem quite the different show; i can see the potential for some new insights.

WildHearted 01-07-2013 08:37 AM

Somehow I have a feeling it will be a lot of the same stories we've heard throughout the years. But hopefully a few new things.

And if nothing else, I'm sure there will be a few nuances in her retellings that will be fun to pick apart & analyze

I think we might learn one or two new things. She'll probably show us a few pics we've never seen before from her childhood and we might get to see a few snippets of some great live performances from the 1970's that we'll be begging to see the whole of, but they will never be revealed again, anywhere. I sound so optimistic, don't I?

ah well, that just comes with the territory :xoxo:

i hope she can open up a bit more - like i said, i was watching goldie hawn, and when she was talking it felt so real, like she wasn't putting on a show. i'm not saying stevie isn't honest, i just think she can come across as being a bit more performative in recent years. maybe since there will be no audience we'll get something more real, if that makes sense

Well, you know how she talks so much to Jim Ladd. I was thinking that she may be prompted to go into stream of consciousness like that by this format. But, of course, the presence of the cameras may make her more aware that she's doing this for an audience and cause her to be more restrained.

Love, love, LOVE the Stevie milk carton! Describes how I feel about her the past year.

this board could be interviewed by Oprah and partake in a Stevie Nicks Master Class :D:D:D

Oprah and Stevie always seem like such a mismatch to me. Oprah is so cut-to-the-chase, tell-it-like-it-is/was kinda person, no sugar coating, and Stevie is just the opposite... filter everything thru rose-colored glasses and make even the really sh&ttiest stuff sound romantic. Plus Oprah likes to get right to it and Stevie tells such long, meandering stories. it could make for some very interesting television.

Oh, Oprah can make Stevie get pretty concise. "What? Oh Christine and I always had bodyguards. We never did anything on the road. We couldn't go out. We never saw a man. And I always took my make up off before going to bed."

I think this interview took something like 6 hours. The folks at Oprah edit it to one hour for air of course. She was very excited to do it though. And no, Oprah doesn't do the interviews for Masterclass. The questions are all asked off camera, via satellite I think. The series is very well done.

Wonder if Stevie and her team got the editorial review/control that they have demanded (and gotten) the last however many years... the right to see the final product and approve before broadcast or ask for deletions/changes. I would be disappointed if Oprah gave anyone that kind of control.

FM77 01-10-2013 03:54 PM

Not sure who got editorial control but SN seemed pleased with the experience. I think the stories will depend on the questions asked. I know she was asked a lot about her family because she provided lots of old photos.

LB Freakazoid 01-18-2013 10:18 PM

During Oprah's Next Chapter interview with Lance Armstrong, they aired a promo for the Master Class series...
Looks like SN's episode will air in March....

Macfanforever 01-19-2013 12:37 PM

The Lance Armstrong interview got Oprah's channel high TV ratings.

Ghosty 01-22-2013 03:47 PM

This would be neat. I haven't been watching much Oprah in a while, but I watched when she interviewed Steven Tyler. I like when she goes to the person's house and walks around, and all that. I hope that is how the Stevie show is, and that Stevie gets a full hour to herself. Of course, she SHOULD get two full hours. I mean, she is much more interesting than Lance Armstrong, lol! And please, please, let Sheryl Crow NOT be there. However, Lori and Sharon, that would be cool. Ending with a little acapella song. We can dream, right? ;)

Oprah needs to rummage through Stevie's wardrobe closets...I can so see her doing that.

LB Freakazoid 01-22-2013 04:08 PM

I believe that the "Oprah's Next Chapter" show is where Oprah goes to the person's house and does an hour or so long interview.... "Oprah's Master Class" is pretty much the person talks directly to camera with a black backdrop and shares insight from where they've learned their greatest lessons in life....

SN's promo clip was her saying how you better have an extra $50,000 if you decide to do coke, cuz that's how much rehab is....

Well, that's how the previous episodes have played out....

so I just saw the clip on Nickslive Blog. I hope that her episode isn't totally salacious. I remember how Gale wanted to dig things out of her. Drugs were so 20 and 30 years ago. Move on.

michelej1 01-22-2013 07:54 PM

Does rehab cost $50,000? Maybe at Betty Ford, but there are other places to go to get help.

Lmao especially in 1986! But I guess when you are Stevie Nicks and/or coked out of your mind, prices may vary when you go to be admitted XD
