If I ever get married, Fleetwood Mac songs will be banned. They're bad luck at weddings.

"Don't Stop" is my life song.

No way! My mom walked down the aisle to Songbird, she and my dad just celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary!

jbrownsjr 10-29-2013 10:34 PM

This was the wedding song for TomKat.

WildHearted 10-29-2013 10:51 PM

I went to wedding last year and the bride surprised the groom by singing him a song (apparently he'd never heard her sing before). She sang Songbird.

All but one wedding I've been to thus far where they've been played has ended in divorce. The one that hasn't, which was just last year, was karaoke, but I still think that one will last.

But for me, no, I'm not taking a chance.

singertobe 10-30-2013 03:22 PM

*holds up 2 outfits* "Which one do you think looks Stevie-er?

crystal73 10-30-2013 07:59 PM

My husband of 14 years and I DID dance to "Crystal" at our wedding!! It's been good luck for us so far! Funny thing was I really wanted to dance to the BN version, but the DJ (even in 1999) wasn't equipped with a turntable or tape deck. LOL Ah well, good thing I love the white album's version, too! As far as things we fans say, this may not be quite what you're referring to, but even now, 16 years (!!) after The Dance, my husband and I will still find ourselves quoting Lindsey in one of his speeches from the album, "Isn't that weird??" :)

They did, my dad still says it was the longest song he's ever heard waiting for her to make it down the aisle lol. No matter, I still plan on walking down the aisle to it at mine as well :-)

Stuff FM/Stevie/Lindsey/Christine Fans Say...

...refer to any point of time, years or months are "eras"

The Bob Welch era
the Mirage era
the unleashed era
the Wild Heart era

Always thought it was funny that a 2-year span here at least are called eras!

sywlindseyfan 10-31-2013 05:12 PM

Stuff Fleetwood Mac fans say when explaining the band to other people:

"Yeah! The guitarist is a guy and his name is Lindsey and his girlfriend name is Stevie. Yeah I know, weird right?" OR "Yeah I know funny, right?" even though it's neither of those things, and it's annoying to explain.

= )

Considering the changes musically and personnel wise that have occurred over the years, it makes sense to divive the different times and albums into sub groups. Now who came up with the idea of different "eras" and why that word was chosen is a mystery to me. pun intended.

Things I've said who knows how many times:

"Lindsey Buckingham is not a girl."

"Stevie Nicks doesn't worship the devil....and No, I do not worship Stevie Nicks!"

"MTV had a lot of nerve benefitting from The Dance, since the last video I'd seen them play of FM/solo was maybe in 1993."

"I don't care if Lindsey's hair made him look like Eraserhead."

"No, I don't think SN and LB should get back together. They'd be divorced in less than a year."

"No, I'm not tired of Fleetwood Mac or any member of Fleetwood Mac. Yes, I'm still a fan all these years later."

"I know Lindsey is old enough to be my dad and older than my dad, but Lindsey is still the most attractive guy I have ever seen!"

Also, when I am around people that act in ways that make me not want to be around them, in my mind I say "I don't really see myself working with those four people again".

I'msoAfraid95 11-01-2013 09:50 AM

Lindsey Buckingham's name is spelled with an "e" not an "a".

No, Stevie does not sound like a goat.

michelej1 11-01-2013 11:59 AM

I often say, "You know Rumours is not the only album they have, don't you?"

I recently said this!

one of the most common conversations when following LB tour:

what brings you guys to our town?

have you ever heard of Lindsey Buckingham?

blank stare.

have you ever heard of Fleetwood Mac?

slaps his/her forehead: ahhhhh, yes of course!!

Lindsfan 11-18-2013 08:31 PM

Saw this on Facebook today...

My first thought was they spelled Rumours wrong :distress:

My second thought was, I love Tusk more!

FutureGames71 11-19-2013 03:01 AM

Things I say/do:

It's Kirwan not Kirwin!

The white Fleetwood Mac album was not their first album, they had 9 others before.

Person: Oh yeah I love Bob Welch! His songs are amazing!
Me: Did you ever listen to any of Fleetwood Mac songs?
Person: He was in Fleetwood Mac?!

"I love hearing Rumours about myself, they're a mystery to me! People who make them up are just hiding behind the mask and can't face their future games" lol

Trying to explain to explain the whole history of the band from start to finish to a non fan and seeing the confused look on their face.

And most of all turning them on to the works of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie and so on :D

chriskisn 11-19-2013 07:48 AM

The most often thing I say (especially on these boards)

"Dave Walker is brilliant and underrated" (or some variation of such).

Doesn't seem to get me anywhere but I keep trying to convert the masses...

applebucked 11-19-2013 08:03 AM

Some things I've said.

"Ya know, Fleetwood Mac did not start with Buckingham Nicks." or "Buckingham Nicks is NOT Fleetwood Mac."

"No, I don't care if Christine McVie is old enough to be my grandmother. I would marry her if I could."

"Just because I ship Lindsey and Christine does not mean I want them to be in a long term relationship. God, no."
