Thanks! Doesn't seem to have hit Google yet.

All the best to John and his loved ones.

Silver Springs 10-26-2013 04:12 PM

Holy ****. I only just found this out on Facebook (seems to be how a lot of people get their news, these days).

Good karma your way, John!

WildHearted 10-26-2013 04:13 PM

Wow, this is shocking.

Sending all of the prayers and good vibes I can muster to Mr. McVie and I hope him a quick and full recovery.

Stormwind 10-26-2013 04:15 PM

I'm shocked...i don't know what to say, damn. I can not even think properly. I wish you all the best John! Hope in a quick recovery!

jenniferuk 10-26-2013 04:20 PM

Oh no! Poor Johnny--this is so sad. Glad he had his family with him on the UK tour--hope he is surrounded by love and positivity. So much love sent his way--

missundercover 10-26-2013 04:22 PM

All the best, John... come back soon! No Mac without McVie.

Macfanforever 10-26-2013 04:26 PM

Oh my god. This is shocking.Get well John.

louielouie2000 10-26-2013 04:30 PM

I'm not sure I've ever been more shocked or saddened by any Fleetwood Mac news. I wonder if this is why Christine was with the band in the Netherlands today?

In any event, John, we all wish you a speedy & full recovery.

mylittledemon 10-26-2013 04:33 PM

^Same here. I was looking forward to meeting Mick at the VIP thing... selfish of me to be mad about that. But I'm more shocked about John... and wondering if this is why Chris has come out of retirement. :(

nicole21290 10-26-2013 04:38 PM

Well, crap. Thoughts with him, best wishes for him and prayers all round. And for the family. :( #fckcancer

missundercover 10-26-2013 04:40 PM

Where did the post on Facebook go?

Anyway: John will be in my thoughts. Play on!

WildHearted 10-26-2013 04:41 PM

People are now saying the FB page was hacked, hence the deletion of the post, and that John is not sick.

If that's true - what a horrible thing for someone to do.

estranged4life 10-26-2013 04:42 PM

It was a false...

story, apparently the FM fb page was hacked and story was false.

The absence of any news reports had me wondering. But then, half of the press uses Facebook as a source now anyway, so what are we to do?

The internet is volatile. Here's hoping it is just a rumour.

Ugh. For what purpose would anyone do that?

Too many people seem to find joy where they create misery, unfortunately...

jenniferuk 10-26-2013 04:49 PM

Tears of sadness turn to tears of joy turn to rage at the scum hacker. I thought it odd to make such a statement with a concert in progress, and when we know John is so private, but I fell for it.

WildHeart69 10-26-2013 04:50 PM

I'm wondering if the news was broken prematurely and that is why it was taken down? im wondering if the "hacked" reasoning is to cover up "spilling the beans"? i dunno. i hope its not true, but that means there are some sick ****s out there....

It's a power thing. Look at the response, here and on Facebook, that was elicited. And just from knowing where to click and what keys to press. Power. And the joy of exercising it and showing off.

Good news for Aussie/NZ fans though.

Oh thank God!!! I'm so disturbed by that news...

TimeCastASpell 10-26-2013 04:55 PM

Wait so not true? I just saw this posted again within the last half hour on FB and my heart sank. So if it was deleted it looks reposted- although FB is being weird to me so... Still not seeing anything on google either.

I'm still flipped out. I just shared the story with my best friend who joined me at the Detroit show and has become a huge Mac fan since then had to say oh wait, I hear it's a hacker. Gotta say too that I wondered- wait, what about the show in Las Vegas and that seemed weird. (Trying desperately to find a way to get to Vegas because I need more Mac!) So... Anyone hear anymore? Like I said, looked as if it was reposted within the last 45mins unless Facebook is doing something weird for me. Kind of screwy to hope its a hacker but what a terrible, terrible thing to do. Flips out all of us fans and must be especially upsetting for anyone who with tickets to he Aussie and NZ shows.

missundercover 10-26-2013 04:57 PM

Who says it was hacked?
I sadly think it's rather WildHeart69s theory.

But... I do hope for the former.

I don't know. If they had cancelled it they'd surely want the word out ASAP? Shorter notice = more irate fans. They would at least retain a statement that the tour was cancelled, surely?

But then, they didn't make a post saying "please ignore the hack" either. I guess the lesson here is to take everything with a grain of salt and not reach conclusions until more information is presented.

I'll assume it's false until something more official comes along to say otherwise.

mylittledemon 10-26-2013 04:59 PM

My reaction to hearing it was fake.

How disturbing. Whoever it is needs professional help.

Gypsy0033 10-26-2013 05:01 PM

The original post on the official Fleetwood Mac Facebook page is gone. People are saying it was hacked. I hope its not true about John.

Gypsy0033 10-26-2013 05:06 PM

Also if this is not true then the Fleetwood Mac FB page should announce it as a hack , don't you think? Now there's fans everywhere thinking John has cancer and the tour is cancelled. :/

Dex 10-26-2013 05:06 PM

Would someone be able to change the title of this topic to clarify that the "news" is tenuous at best?

olive 10-26-2013 05:07 PM

link about John taken off FM facebook page

no explanation why

SpyNote 10-26-2013 05:09 PM

Wow, it's crazy how many people reported this to be true without getting an official statement.

Gypsy0033 10-26-2013 05:12 PM

Just went to the FM FB page..there are all kind of people that still believe this to be true and some are asking what the heck is going on. The thread it was posted in had over 1000 reply's when I saw it. A lot of people saw it. There should be a statement..one would think.

there was an official statement.

it was since pulled from FM FB page. some random people tweeted FM FB page was hacked but that may or may not be a speculation. nothing was announced on their FB page since that initial announcement was pulled..

their twitter acct didn't tweet anything since Christine's London show.

gldstwmn 10-26-2013 05:35 PM

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to John. Hopefully they are not necessary and this is just a ridiculous rumour.

If any of this is true (I'm skeptical), management could be trying to prepare something official, rather than a passing comment on FB. But Live Nation would be the ones making any official announcement since they are ultimately responsible for the tour.

On the heels of the John McVie death rumors from yesterday, this is probably also untrue.

yes, i believe that was one of the speculations - that someone jumped the gun on FB before all the ducks for LN etc announcements were put in a row.

if true, it would be good to put their ducks in a row fast, and if the page was hacked, let people know fast too. but extrapolating from LB UK/Ire tour cancellation events in 2011, LN / PR are all off for the weekend and will not issue anything till Monday.

hope it's not true.

BlueDenimLamp 10-26-2013 05:43 PM

You would think that when the post about John was taken down they would have at least said something about being "hacked" and that everyone was alright and the tour was still on...
