Stevie Nicks took off again

17th October 2013 (Google Translate)

Fleetwood Mac traveled from Stuttgart to Berlin. The band checked into the Ritz Carlton on Potsdamer Platz one. A classy home that has hosted U.S. presidents, heads and other important winning, celebrities and many widely traveled and experienced personalities. Stevie Nicks (65), the beautiful Rimes voice of the band, apparently not classy enough. The musician rushed off again and moved to Regent Hotel am Gendarmenmarkt. The relationships in the band were always difficult. Maybe did not want to sit on each other so closely with the other nicks.

Maybe she didn't like the view from her room ?

I wonder what Lindsey Nicks, John Nicks and Mick Nicks' reaction would be to this article?

michelej1 10-18-2013 01:00 PM

That's pretty funny. When they found that they were all registered as Nickses they probably kicked her out of the hotel.

Goodnight John(boy)...

bombaysaffires 10-18-2013 01:51 PM

well, Stevie always has to have the Presidential Suite... maybe she didn't get it at the Ritz because someone else had it or, god forbid, someone else in the band....

The Regent is pretty posh

Well, who's booking her? I mean, you go to all the trouble to check in and then move? What did they do try to pass off a regular suite as the presidential and hope she didn't notice? lol

Karen's in the doghouse........

and it would not surprise me in the least if Stevie was booked into a hotel, got there, looked around, hated it and said I need to move. Not in the least.

I actually remember Mick (I think) talking about that not too long ago. He said she hotel hops pretty frequently. Where she'll check into one and decide she doesn't like it and go to another one.

Too bad for the hotel staff that was surely waiting and excited to have their pictures taken with Ms. Nicks.

gldstwmn 10-18-2013 07:11 PM

Sometimes I think if there are too many fans staying in the hotel, Mama splits. Maybe there were stairs? Supposedly she is not fond of stairs any more.

I remember this too! I thought it was quite amusing. Oh to have that luxury :p

Macfanforever 10-25-2013 10:34 AM

I would hide and sleep on the tour bus and save the money for a rainy day.

KarmaContestant 10-25-2013 11:38 AM

Didn't she say once that she requires a giant piano to be put in her all-pink hotel rooms? Maybe she had to move because the hotel wasn't able or willing to accomodate that.

You mean a WHITE piano in her all pink hotel room. Stevie now says that's not true that she never did any of that. But I wonder if her accountant would agree with her. ;)

I think this happened in Stockholm as well. According to Lindsey, who I randomly bumped into when I had an evening walk, Stevie wasn't staying in the same hotel with the other Macs.

Well I guess the Amstel Hotel in Amsterdam was up to her standards, because I just posted videos of her and the other members of the band leaving the hotel (separately) to go to the Ziggodome show.

I'd hate to see what her hotel bill for this tour was, then.

applebucked 10-27-2013 11:52 AM

As long as Mama can pay up, doesn't really matter.

teedeerocks 11-08-2013 08:56 PM

Mama is one spoiled brat and it probably started WAY back with her rich daddy.Good thing she's so adorable and rich or she wouldn't have too many friends(or "yes"people who ACT like friends). Her Garbo attitude really gets on my nerves sometimes. She needs to get over herself and be more appreciative of what she's got. There's not enough money in the world that would get me to be her assistant.Sorry guys:sorry:I don't think her interviews and appearances on things like American Idol reflect the real Stevie-she's probably a royal BEECH.

And yet you continue to give her money...Which in a way makes you an enabler or a "yes person"...

Macfanforever 11-08-2013 11:43 PM

I love giving her my money. She earns it too.

So you've met her and have first hand knowledge of this?

I don't care what she's really like. Her only importance to me is her music/art. So long as it's good, that's all that matters.

MoonSister75 11-12-2013 08:55 AM

 I know she likes her luxuries, but that's not such a terrible thing. She has worked hard for most of her life, seems to have many genuine long term friendships, and has helped lots of people through her music. She's done lots of good in this world, and made people happy

Pretty much exactly this. If you think you'd prefer to stay at a different hotel, and it is within your means to do so, then switching hotels is a perfectly reasonable thing to do. If people want to relish in the old "rich people are all massive knobheads" class-division sentiment that's their prerogative, but there's no need to bring Stevie into it personally. By almost all accounts she's a fairly likeable, albeit flawed, person. Her lifestyle may be hard to relate to, but that doesn't make her a massive spoilt bitch by default.

She's really not a 'royal BEECH' ,she's only changed in little ways the last few years but she's still a down to earth, normal, genuine lady who is super appreciative of Fleetwood Mac,it's fans & the countless people that she's worked with throughout the years that have afforded her the lifestyle that she has.

Bryan 11-12-2013 01:24 PM

^ P.S. if you want to join the term 'royal BEECH' with 'assistant' in your post teedeerocks..that would be closer to the truth

HomerMcvie 11-12-2013 01:44 PM

I've told this story before, but I know a lady who worked backstage at a Stevie show, about 15ish years ago(maybe more, I don't remember now). She was in charge of "backstage hospitality"...and she said Stevie was a complete bitch, and complained about everything, that nothing was good enough for her.

Maybe she was coked to high heaven(if it was still the coke years), or maybe she was having a bad day, but "nothing was good enough for her".

#princessproblems:rolleyes:

HomerMcvie 11-12-2013 01:45 PM

And I am personally having a love affair with my new avatar.

OMFG.

Well when I'm not happy with a service,be it a hotel,a store, anything I will let it be known ,you wanna cuss out the woman at the checkouts? go for it. See the hotel manager 'cos something's not right? do it ,it doesn't make you a bad person by wanting things to go smooth. There are many stresses in life and having people be unprofessional is certainly something nobody should put up with.

Basically Stevie is allowed to be a diva ..anyone is! You want the best you should get the best

That's work though. I work with a lot of people and I'd be surprised if some of them didn't have similarly unkind things to say about me. Certainly I don't feel warm and squishy about everyone I've come accross at work either. It doesn't mean any of us are bad people. That's just what happens when people with jobs to do mix, and everyone has a reason for acting the way they do.

Stevie could be a big dickbreath of a woman for all I know, but it doesn't seem fair or even reasonably logical to judge her based on the impressions someone got from an isolated workplace encounter. I'll stick to the impressions people who actually know her give.

and that picture of Stevie...well its just pure Stevie Joy - makes me smile every time I see it :]

i always get the vibe from stevie in interviews that you would never mess with her and that she is one tough cookie.

still that doesnt bother me - i am not interested in being her friend or getting to know her -i just love her music.

OMG Stevie looks like she is "special needs" in that photo. Everytime I see it, I think of the "special needs" kid from southpark with the aviator glasses who does an occasional appearance. Dead ringer.

I know its not the most flattering Stevie photo ever, but she is VERY happy in it :D. I'm sure Stevie would hate it, but I also like to think she would see the funny side.

There is a huge version of it in the "videos of the band leaving their hotel" thread, I just had another look...and yes it makes me laugh every time (in a nice way :angel:)
