A CD or tape to slide onto the stage

So, you know how Stevie has said that she has rediscovered songs on YouTube that were lost, like Without You and Secret Love etc., and then re-recorded them? How about someone making a CD or tape with the "lost" songs we'd like her or BN to record, and sliding it onto the stage?
What would be on the list?
I think we should seriously do this. I'll be in Tacoma monday and if there's enough input, I'll do one. Somebody from the Ledge should do one at each show, lol.

Off the top of my head "Forsaken Love" is a must.

mitzo 05-17-2013 04:53 PM

MirrorMirror
Have No Heart
Joan of Arc
Ooh Baby
Forest of the Black Roses
If You Were My Love

Artemis 05-17-2013 04:59 PM

Immediately thought of Joan of Arc, there's a fantastic song hidden in there somewhere.

Have No Heart
Races Are Run
If You Were My Love
All The Beautiful Worlds
Forget About Me
Julia
Call On Me For Magic

rhiannondontgo 05-17-2013 05:40 PM

Blue Water, China Doll, The Dealer, Forsaken Love, and the slow Julia from the first recording, are my all-time favorites :)

What is "call on me for magic"? I looked around for that but can't find it.

She has said before she can't accept CD's & such because of her history of being sued over the song Sara. So if y'all put a CD on the stage, she'll never hear it.

Sorry to interupt your conversation lovelies, but I have heard multiple times about the story her being sued for Sara, can anyone just give me a quick summary of what exactly happened there? Or evena lin maybe? Thanks so much! :o

You should title it Stevie these are your songs and we want you to record them

In 1980, a woman from Grand Rapids, Michigan (my hometown!) attempted to sue Stevie because she believed a song she "wrote" was extremely similar to Sara and that Stevie had ripped her off. Stevie won, of course.

Yeah, I thought maybe something like that! lol

WildHearted 05-18-2013 11:04 PM

Really we could just throw a piece of paper up there with demo titles and at the top write: "Tell Karen to look for these on Youtube" lol

Perfect title better yet address it to Karen that ought to get the ball rolling.

It has all the makings of a terrific torch song.... it just needs a little help to sound a little less.... "Disney"... you know?

She couldn't do the high notes anymore (not consistently anyway) but this could be a really cool song for her to sing as a "mature" woman.

WildHearted 05-19-2013 08:04 PM

It sounds like it's from a musical.

Not necessarily a bad thing, though, 'cause I love showtunes.

Why does this stop her from listening to CDs she is given?

Because if she does, then someone could come back and claim that a song she put out after the fact was ripped off of whatever song of theirs they put on the CD that she listened to.

Fair enough. But I thought this was about someone giving her a CD of her own demo's.

It was, but unless you very specifically and clearly advise on the cover or something that they are her own songs, there's a good chance she won't listen just as a precaution.

I believe it was produced by David Kahn if I spelt that iChat who produced love changes I believe this is his song not Stevie's. she just sang it for on it for him

justdreamin 05-20-2013 03:53 PM

Maybe I can give it to Mick at the meet and greet thing. I'll figure something out.
Thanks to eveybody who gave their input. I'm putting it together now...in the car on the way to tacoma (I'm not driving ;-))

That's the perfect idea!!! By doing that you know it will definitely make it into Stevie's hands. If not at least Mick can hear them and know that these are the songs the fans want to hear.

I can picture it: Mick goes to Stevie asks about recording and she says I don't have any songs i really want to work on at the moment. He pulls the cd out and says how about these!

:D

TOP STEVIE NICKS DEMOS THAT HAVE NEVER MADE IT TO AN ALBUM

Watch Devil
Julia
Blue Water
Space Needle
The Dealer
Cecilia

rhiannondontgo 05-20-2013 08:05 PM

I'm so obsessed with the slow demo of Julia from when she first wrote it. Needs to be recorded. It's my favorite demo right now. And the incessant coke babble in between it all just makes it even better. Sara Recor/Fleetwood was laughing about this all yesterday on FB with me and my friend Bailie. She says it's a good thing Shelly's so patient and referred to him as a "strong man"

Thats a good move.I would be afraid if the CD was left on the stage it would got lost when the crew packs up for the night if it was unnoticed on the stage at the time it was put on it.

Yes .Ditto on the tunes mentioned and I would put a note in the CD case to and even make an audio message for her on the CD to.

justdreamin 05-21-2013 01:25 AM

OK! I did it!!
I made 3 full CD's with everything that was requested and some other stuff. During the meet and greet I asked Mick if I could give him some CD's with Stevie demo's on them and he looked at me a little surprised and then said "what? you have what? It sounds very mysterious!" I explained it to him and he said "yeah! absolutely!" So when he came down to do questions and autographs I just stood up and handed the CD's to him. He said something like "great, we'll get some new music.." His assistant, Robert, said, "I want to give them to her" and took them from Mick, and Mick said "no I want to give them to her" but Robert wouldn't give them to him. Then Robert said to me something like "I think this should be my job" and kind of winked.
So, no doubt that she will get them!
I'm kind of excited now. I wrote a note and mentioned that the requests were from fans from the Ledge and said there were more where those came from.
Thanks everyone!

I LOVED your story. I condensed it to save space though I really loved every word you wrote.

That's delicious. I was laughing when you described how Robert argued with Mick about who would give it to her. He probably knows Mick too well and realized he'd put it on a desk and forget about it.

Very exciting that you accomplished your goal.

What a GREAT story! We have to keep updated on this....

seekerj 05-21-2013 11:07 AM

I hope someone remembered to include "Love You Enough" or whatever the title is; it was found on those reel-to-reel tapes from the studio. I don't really know the title, but some of the words are:

I look at you
And I know you've not forgotten
Still make me laugh, in the laughter
we were lost in
I still love you, though we cannot be in love,
But when I see you, I just can't get enough...

I'll never be able to love you enough
Though my spirit lies deep inside your soul...

I feel alot better it went that way then the CDs on stage route. They would of getting' lost in the shuffle.

Thank you very much.

seekerj 05-21-2013 11:09 AM

The Catdancer 05-21-2013 12:05 PM

Selfishly though, I hope Mick forgets about the cd and Stevie will use it for her next SOLO record.

I should have kept the list, but I went through all the requests and found all of them and then added some that I found on my mediafire account. I think there were about 30 songs total.

Fantastic! I am very happy you went ahead and did this. Such a great idea. There's always so much negativity around here, it is great to see someone actually doing something fun & positive.
