When will the EP get released?
 

This poll was inevitable. I wish there could be a prize for guessing it right.

Some time in May. I voted for 14th because it's in the middle of the month and I think that's the earliest we'll see it. I won't be shocked if it's later.

I agree. I voted o5/07 but with no clue, just randomly and with a hope of "soon". But actually I have no idea.

I kind of doubt that we'll ever see it. We may eventually see the songs from it released somewhere down the line, but in a different way, much in the same way that Buckingham's solo projects tend to turn into Fleetwood Mac material. Maybe this will end up being the reverse with Fleetwood Mac material ending up on a Buckingham solo project.

My question for the band would be, however, is that if they cut a substantial amount of material in the studio last year (it often sounds like they cut more than just the 3-4 songs that are going to be released on this EP), then why not just put all of that together into an "album". If Stevie is underrepresented in the new material, maybe just get a couple of new songs of hers recorded and then add them to the mix. It may not end up as a particularly cohesive set of songs, but that didn't really detract too much from Say You Will, and at least since the material was done with Fleetwood Mac in mind, it might not sound like two solo albums thrown together.

This reflects the thinking behind my vote as well.

I'm not worrying about it because I dont need the stress worrying about it.

I will say it will happen sooner or later or they will hold the 3 tunes for a complete album which I prefer then a 3 tune EP.

If there was an option on hold the tunes for a complete album I would cast my vote on that option .So I probably have to pick "It will never be released" now option.

But I hope EP wont fall into the same dept as IYD DVD as we still waiting for a DVD release on the Docu.

My answer is "in a few days"...

I'm going with May 14th. More or less a random choice for me. I do think it will be released before the summer really begins. :cool:

I say give it a month. Someone posted that they overhead Lindsey saying it was "Pending artwork approval" ... which sounds like a very political answer smothered in politeness to me. ;)

I will believe it when I see it.:shrug:

Amen. I am pretty damn cynical about this touring without new music thing. And we all know FM can leave new music sitting around for years and years while endless reissues of old material keep coming.

Today is National Record Store Day!!!
So many bands release limited edition albums just for this day
There's another in the all to many of Mac lapses!

Last year I waited in line for 3 hours to try and buy "white-album" record day special. When. I got to the cashier, the one copy the store was given had already been purchased.. Dag.. I hope it was a true fan who scored.. Sat this record day out.. It has become too much of a Black Friday mentality.. I understand vinyl is cool.. But not waiting in line cool..

Yep. Perfect for an EP release.

It doesn't say that. It just says it's featuring the three that we know the names of. There could be one or two more.

If it is just 3 songs then EP is a bit strong of a term... "Single" would be a better term: one a-side and two b-sides.

Buckingham says, "it's the best thing we've done in years." In fact, it's the only thing they've done in years.

Let's hope there's more than three songs on the cd release.

every damn band says that for every new album they release. I think it's in the rock band handbook. Reminds me of the movie Bull Durham where Kevin Costner, as the seasoned vet, gives Tim Robbins advice on how to do press interviews and all the cliches that athletes are expected to use like "I'm just happy to do my best for the team" blah blah blah....

That's exactly what I was thinking. 3 songs isn't much of an EP.

It's a new song, like Sad Angel. Lindsey wrote it and when Stevie was at his house working in his "bunker" for 4 days, she sang on it. We have not heard it yet.
