Not That Funny, Sad Angel, ISA definitely. followed by SOTM.

EDIT: newish should be songs that have been swapped since the last tour. which is only 4 - NTF, SOTM, EOTW, and SG. and 2 new songs SA and WY. those should have been on the list imo.

I thought of adding EOTW, but I haven't really heard much talk of it like I have Lindsey's other songs, i.e. ISA/GYOW/ Also, I'm trying to keep it balanced between Stevie and Lindsey (yeah, I know) :shrug:

Remember to use the "Other" option for songs like EOTW. I'll probably will run another poll next week with the top two or so from this one and any from the "other" option.

Other: Sara (I like that Lindsey has been added on the vocals although I don't know if this has been done in the past.) Eyes of the World, Second Hand News.

Picked "Sad Angel", "I'm So Afraid", and "Other", which I would give my vote to either "Second Hand News" or "Not that Funny".

ISA definitely had to make the list, as Lindsey absolutely brought down the house at the Verizon Center with the guitar solo. SA was great, mainly as it's so rare to hear new material from the band anymore, and it's one of the best new songs from the band in a while. I'm a bit biased towards SHN, as it's right alongside GYOW as my favorite song, and it was a great way to kick off the set list.

Sad Angel, Sister's of the Moon & Silver Springs. The absolute highlight of every show so far for me has been SOTM. After every performance I'm so excited waiting for a video to surface.

I picked Sad Angel, (I want the da@n EP), Gold Dust, and other - Sara.
Im not seeing them til late June in Charlotte, NC. So lets hope Sister`s and Without You is still on the bill those songs get better with each show. So, lets take another poll in 4-6 weeks and see if our opinions change???

I absolutely LOVE Sad Angel!! Can't wait for the EP! I reeeally enjoyed Rhiannon! I think that tusk is the best it's sounded since The Dance. I love how they recoreded the narching band in advance, it sounded amazing! And then theres I'm So Afraid (my fav Lindsey song) totallyamazing! his guitar was spot on! And then last but NOT leas Dreams! By far my fav song EVER, was simply incredible as ususal. I went to the Toronto Tuesday, and so far in my opinion that was the best Rhiannon they performed. Stand Back sounded really good too! :blob1::blob2::nod:

It was GREAT hearing SOTM again. The highlight of the show for me!

I voted once for "other" because I really love Tusk this time. The reduced speed makes the beginning even more epic to me.
GDW and The Chain are my other choices.
Honorable mention goes to Big Love.

I ONLY wish she'd go for the "A" in it. She can hit it, because she hits the same note in GDW.

Okay, I'm going with Sisters of the Moon and I'm So Afraid. I'm also going with the other option and voting for Gypsy.

I like Sad Angel, but I find it hard to vote for it, when I don't have a studio version :rolleyes: or previous live versions to compare it to. Mick is driving those drums so hard on SOTM and Lindsey is tearing up his guitar on ISA. I also like the more laid back version/style for Gypsy.

Special mention to the new intro for Tusk!

I can honestly say the only videos I've watched of this tour thus far are of Sisters Of The Moon. I just can't find the will to care about anything else... :sorry:

I've listened to Sad Angel & Without You twice each. Both are definitely good, but overly safe to a kinda boring extent. Sad Angel just seems like bits & pieces of The Best Of Lindsey Buckingham strung together in one song. I could see totally getting into it if I were there in the flesh, but listening to the youtube vids, it just doesn't really elicit anything from me. I can honestly say I've not listened to any other songs from this tour besides Sisters, Sad Angel, and Without You. :eek:

happy to see ISA is doing so great and that people can appreciate it, after all pre-tour calls to get rid of it from the set. its standing is even better than newish WY, and is only behind Sad Angel and Sisters! it's been spectacular on this tour. :thumbsup:

:laugh: i like it but you are onto something there, i thought the same when hearing it first. guess that was probably the intent - best of commercial-ish / fleetwood mac-y (as he says) LB.

I'm glad too about ISA though I get a little surprised that GYOW and Tusk didn't get a lot of acclaim.

ISA wasn't a hit or a single, but has endured throughout the years on the Mac and Lindsey tours.

I'm So Afraid is Lindsey's Gold Dust Woman. :cool:

Gold Dust Woman gets considerable airplay, though.

However, in terms of it's life as a part of the setlist, I agree.

hmm, puzzling comparison.

while i love GDW (perhaps more than ISA as a song), i think it's been done practically the same - and therefore it became boooring - at most shows in the recent memory (meaning last 30 years i guess? i can't really speak for SN solo shows though. but even with SSPs while a bit different it was not any better. best newish version to me was Courtney Love's). it was done great at European part of the UL, when Lindsey jazzed up his guitar parts. of course there were bunch of complaints then that he's showing off on SN's song. :rolleyes: other than that it's just going through the motions with those golden shawl twirls at the end happening for like 5 extra minutes of wasted time (imho of course, most audience goes into hysteric trance when this happens lol).

ISA however has been done differently over the years and tours, mostly recently OMS version was completely different (whether you love it or hate it!), and it's always been the highlight of LB's performance and people who have never even heard of him are completely amazed when they see that performance.

so you have one extremely well known and loved song done in a tired way but elicits audience reaction b/c of its cult status (and i love hearing it in concert and singing with it! just wish it would be cut short), and another completely unknown song, done amazingly in concert which inspires owe every time. so yeah, to me, these are 2 very different songs.

I find that unlike Dreams or Rhiannon, this song has remained fresh precisely because it does change every time, both with the Mac and in her solo shows. I know you think that the ending is a snooze fest, but I think the dramatic finale is the place where the variations matter most and I find them quite effective. Discovering what her adlibs will be this time around and exploring the new doors they open in meaning, the change in context and desire, is one of the highlights of the concert for me.

could be, i have to cede to your opinion there since i didn't really experience or saw it live that much.

the fact that GDW is a timeless rock song, much more so than Dreams or Rhiannon imo, may be a factor too?

I chose Sisters Of The Moon, Without You, and Sad Angel, because they were new to the stage for me. These were the stand out performances for me so far.

Without You- Beautiful, the joy, and smiles at the end are from the heart.



Sad Angel-- Not much of a visual, but I love the audio.

Replying back to elle and michele, my main point was that neither Gold Dust Woman or I'm So Afraid were singles and were in done on those first tours to fill out the setlist with Lindsey/Stevie songs. GDW and ISA became such concert staples often the best part of the show(both Mac and solo), that they have became as ingrained in our minds just as the actual hit singles, a al Rhiannon/Dreams and GYOW/Tusk have proven to be. I can't image a setlist without the hit singles, just as I can't imagine a setlist without GDW and ISA. Both songs are so much "more" live than they are on the studio recordings as Stevie and Lindsey's persona comes alive during those songs. :cool:

Although not a single, GDW got a lot of radio airplay and still does to this day. I just heard it last week. Even a casual fan who hasn't previously seen Fleetwood Mac in concert would recognize this one.

I have heard Gold Dust Woman on the radio too. In fact, the last time I heard it it caught me by surprise, since I'm not quite sure about the singles vs. deep cuts distinction and what can be played on radio. I think Christine probably gets the most play time, especially with Say You Love Me and You Make Loving Fun (then Stevie with Landslide, Dreams, and Gypsy; Lindsey with Go Your Own Way), but I have to say I've wanted to hear Songbird for a while. I'm surprised that one isn't a staple on Adult Contemporary stations.
