Madness Fades 04-15-2013 04:21 PM

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this awful tradegy.
What's the world coming to..

Macfanforever 04-15-2013 04:53 PM

I wont be going to this show .But I will be going to the Mansfield show in June.

I hope they dont cancel this show.

TerraRhiannon 04-15-2013 05:01 PM

Macfanforever 04-15-2013 07:46 PM

How close was this explosion to the venue where FM is playing Thursday. The area will be all blocked off for days for investigation according to the radio .If FM does pull out.I hope they dont wait until to last minute.

I've been to the BOA Pavilion Not the TD Garden .

OK did this show sold out.

It's not close to the venue.

editme2 04-15-2013 08:28 PM

It's across town, in another section of the city.....I'm just wondering if they'll shut down all large events where thousands of people will be, given the heightened security this week.

We'll see if the Celtics game is cancelled tomorrow.. it's not as of yet, according to the website.

Thanks guys.If its across town.FM show probably go on.

Mind as will leave cameras, cell phones in the car because of the high security check.

I dont see any problem bringing in them.

I hope the show goes on as planned.

The game for tomorrow (4/16) is cancelled according to the TD Garden page but we probably shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves. It's still days away and everything is just so unsure in Boston tonight. A lot can change in a few days. Plus- the venue is pretty far from the area where the bombings went off. It's such a sad day around the city- I sure hope the show doesn't cancelled.

Enchanted_Stevi 04-16-2013 10:36 AM

I don't have tickets yet.I want to go....but I'll definitely be going to Mohegan Saturday

vivfox 04-16-2013 11:27 AM

Those of you who are attending the Boston show should call the venue and find out if the show is still happening. Especially you, Jillian. I'd hate to travel all that distance for nothing.

Macfanforever 04-16-2013 01:29 PM

Those of you who are going to the show Thursday night..Try to have some fun at the show on Thursday.I know it will be hard to do after events of Mondays bombings.

I know Stevie and the band will try to make the show a warm feeling and comment about what happen and wish everybody well in recovery after the senseless act .

Yes I agree with Viv.Call the venue to see whats up.Especially those of you that travel for miles to see your favorite band.

olive 04-16-2013 02:34 PM

the Celtic game was canceled out of respect . they do not need to even play this game both teams secure and The game would not matter in terms of playoff seeding,

as for the concert , there is absolutely no reason fro them to postpone or cancel

eric51078 04-16-2013 02:40 PM

The venue also does not accept incoming calls. Doors open at 6:30! Lets all go and let the music make it a better place!

PoetofRhiannon 04-16-2013 03:10 PM

I was less than a mile from the explosions yesterday. Really freaky.

I don't think the show will be cancelled though.

Yes its scary. It seems like everything is going to hell in a hand basket.

I'm still shocked about the news about my neighbor was doing weeks ago.
This is only crossed the street.

I also have a good feeling the show will go on.

drag00n 04-17-2013 01:27 AM

According to a friend living in Boston, they are cancelling all events with large attendence.. Plus OBama is invading the city, so...even if they do not cancel the show, with that added mess and the necessary added security.. it wil be an even bigger mess...

May be true, but the hockey game was rescheduled for today, which is at the Garden and will have a large attendance.

Kayt1234 04-17-2013 06:15 AM

True and Obama is scheduled to be here at 11am on the other side of the city. Might not affect things as badly as one would think. The garden's website is still selling tickets for the show and listed it as a scheduled show- not canceled. I also got my meet and greet info in my e mailed well ( not that that's always 100% but still..). This is a controlled area with bag checks and security. Definately different than an outside gathering of people. I'd expect security to be a bit more heightened- more thourough checks maybe- so be prepared for that. Also account for more traffic entering the city. I still feel like the show will more than likely go on.

ParisKnight 04-17-2013 07:29 AM

As of now Bruins game is on for tonight at the Garden. The President should have left town well before show time so that shouldn't be an issue. I haven't heard any talk of cancelling the Red Sox game on Friday and Fenway is much closer to the bomb site then the Garden is. I'd be surprised at this point if show is cancelled. I'm not even going to bring a purse though. I imagine security will be extra tight.

You know with all the tragedy that just happened you could probably be a little kinder. Once again olive has to get the last word.

redtulip 04-17-2013 10:03 AM

If they were going to cancel the show, they would have done it by now. The show will happen.

Sorry to hear of your loved ones injury but your responses to people are always snarky.

Lets enjoy the show folks!

eric51078 04-17-2013 02:55 PM

I just got an email from the garden! Show is still on!

In light of the tragedy that took place in Boston on Monday, the TD Garden is working with state and local law enforcement to enhance our already diligent security measures and continue to provide a safe environment at all our events.

The safety of our guests and staff is of utmost importance. We ask that you please allow for extra time when coming to the TD Garden, including the North Station parking garage, due to increased security measures in place. Guests are also reminded that our current policies will remain in effect, including no bags and discretionary search

mike_nh 04-17-2013 03:00 PM

even if the concert does go on I find it hard to believe it's going to be a ''normal'' concert expearince. does anyone really want to sing and dance given the events of the week?

Scary how we rely on them so much. It's my lifeline!

In Your Dreams 04-17-2013 06:57 PM

I wonder if they will play Sweet Caroline or a song by Boston or Aerosmith as a tribute to the people of Boston. Soldiers Angel doesn't quite translate to this tragedy so I doubt they will play that. But they should do something special for this concert only.

Just a heads up- the venue tweeted that doors will open a half hour earlier at 6:30 because of added security checks. Sounds like they'll be very thorough so make sure to arrive early!

I completely agree. I feel very strongly that those who plan such awful things want to defeat us and change the way we go about our lives. We always respect and remember what happened- that never ever goes away. I just refuse to let evil control my life.
