Always got a kick (no pun intended) from her choice of outfit in these photos...
btw, is this the house where the photos on the inner sleeve of Bella Donna were shot? Those ceiling beams look familiar; there's a photo of her with Lori and Sharon in a house at night that has similar beams on the BD inner sleeve-- or had she moved by then? |

Wow wish I had that kinda money! Just the thought of walking up and down the halls as she did gives me goosebumps. Not to mention all the songs she could have written in there.
So technically wasn't this Stevie's FIRST house she purchased with the Fleetwood Mac money??? And was this also the house that Carol Ann mentioned in her book? The one she invited her and Lindsey into? ...Actually now that I think about it Carol and him weren't together until '77 and if she lived here in '75/ '76 wouldn't that mean Lindsey did too?? Didn't he live with her up until the recording of rumours? So many questions :P |
In an interview from april 1977 Stevie mentioned she was going to buy the house that Vilma Banky lived in, so she bought it halfway of 1977. So Lindsey never lived there, but it is the house CAH mentions in her book. I'm not sure where she lived before buying this house.

the living room picture is the room if you have the album Belladonna the picture of her and the girls is the same room but I want to say in the album sleeve picture its darker room. Beautiful home.If I had the money would buy it. Love it. |
If that's how Stevie decorates her house, she has the most random framed movie posters in the world. Like. Ever.
Even if it's NOT Stevie's decorating, those are still weird. |
What a beautiful home. I would love to have it. I think when Lindsey and Stevie first joined FM they moved into an apartment. When they got some real money, this was the house Stevie bought and lived in till around Tusk tour time. She sold it because it attracted to many hangers-on. Then she moved to a beach house in Santa Monica I believe.

I swear I've seen a photo of Stevie taken in that bathroom, the tilework and the background look familiar but I couldn't find the photo today. Anyone else remember seeing it? God knows the woman never saw a bathroom mirror she could resist photographing as a backdrop. I found a lot of bathroom photos but not the one I was thinking of.

Could this be the home of your Dreams? The 1920s Spanish-Moorish house on El Contento Drive has seen more than one famous resident: Vilma Banky, the legendary silent film star, once lived there. While the name might not ring as many bells in the mainstream as it used to, most will be more familiar with Steve Nicks, the rock legend and frontwoman of Fleetwood Mac who purchased the place in the late 1970s. Stevie Nicks' former home was built in 1927 and features four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a guest apartment and office with a full kitchen and bath. The 3,538-square-foot home has tons of charm in the details, with hardwood and tile floors, French doors, lovely painted-beam ceilings, and arched windows and doorways. There's a clean, sunny, romantic feel to the house, and the kind of California Golden Age-appeal unique to these Spanish-style abodes built in 1920s and '30s Hollywood. Stevie Nicks recorded numerous demos while she lived in this house, and that's not just according to Rumours. Sound engineer Tom Moncrieff confirmed this in a 2008 interview. "Stevie and I had a series of informal demo studios that we put together to record her songs," Moncreiff said. "I think the first one was when she bought her first house after joining FM. It was in the Hollywood Hills, and we called it 'El Contento.' It had a separate apartment underneath where I lived, and we put a bunch of gear in there. Some important stuff came out of that place. I think that's where we did the 'Sara' demo." |
