Lindsey wan't lying when he said he was thinking of Stevie's voice when he wrote it. It's a perfect key for their voices now and they don't have to strain, but it still sounds new. He's also writing with her harmonies (almost as a duet) in mind. I'm sure she loves this.

They sounded amazing. The harmonies were impeccable, really.

I agree. That song was one of the highlights of last nights show for me. Loved it. The band rocked. The back drop changes were nice especially when it went to live images of the band. The drum solo change in world turning was a pleasant surprise from the drum vest... Stevie seemed to take a while to get into her performance. Idk maybe it is just those glasses making her look tired and older. Once she took them off she looked great and suddenly her energy seemed to increase. Most of the chatter I heard after the show and this morning at the hotel was how awesome lindsey and mick were last night and I agree they gave a great perform.ance and it showed on their face they were happy to be there. Again, sad angel was great. Lindsey said new ep this week so we'll see?

LOVED Sad Angel. I was afraid it would be trite when I heard the title, but it was rockin' and fun.

During the VIP meet'n'greet with Mick, I asked about whether there would be an album and he was all "We don't know if the fans really want it..."

I said "Don't you dare use that as a reason not to do it, we want it!!!" He looked a bit taken aback at my vehemence, lol, but said he hoped they would do it.

Lol, good for you!

Everyone should do this when the meet him, then maybe they will get the hint :)

Anyone who is attending the meet'n'greets should demand the recording of another Fleetwood Mac-album! And if you do so: Please tell Mick that Christine should be involved! :angel:

It is such a good song! I soooo wish they'd decide to do a full album.

It was great - well worth the money. I know Mick gets a hard time for being greedy but I was thrilled with it. He was a real doll - he acted like he was happy to be there and enjoyed interacting with fans rather than just going through the motions out of contractual obligation.

He encouraged us to ask questions, was really sweet during photos, and signed things as well. I was very pleased with my experience and highly recommend it.

One note that wasn't so positive: the people that were running it were clueless and were trying to herd us in and out quickly, without even getting autographs. Mick had to tell them to chill several times. If it weren't for Mick, it would not have been so great, but he made sure we got our money's worth.

Completely worth the extra funds. And it was fantastic getting to meet fellow Ledgies for the first time! You rock, Nancy! :nod:

I am not impressed with Sad Angel. I mean, it's just ok, and nothing more. It's great to hear something new from the Mac, but I bet there are much better new songs they could have played on this tour. Introducing blah songs first is something you can always expect for from FM.

I enjoyed Sad Angel, too. It sounds fresh, and yet still sounds like classic Fleetwood Mac. I *really* hope they release some new recorded material, and soon.

Threw this together rather quickly in anticipation in case the new artwork sucks ass and until we get that new photo of the group in HD. lol

agree that in the past they have introduced blah songs first (Peacekeeper and Say You Will) but disagree that Sad Angel is in line with those songs. Stevie's harmony alone is far better then Peacekeeper. It sounds like the best parts of Lindsey's past 2 solo albums with the addition of stevie's voice and way more important Mick and John. Lindsey wasn't lying when he said they played their asses off in theses new songs.

The song simply doesn't put me in any kind of mood. I've listened to it several times today, and the only reason I did that is because it's new. Try to put it on any FM album alongside all the existing songs. You certainly wouldn't classify it together with the worst, but would you really classify it with the strongest tracks? I am 100% sure we can expect at least 2-3 better songs on the upcoming LP/EP/ whatever format they're planning to put out in the near future. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see it thrilling anyone outside their fanbasse.

I also told Mick to tell "her" we want the new album, so he's now also aware we know who the holdout is!

I saw the clips of the 2 new songs on you tube from the show and I didn't like either one of them.I prefer Stevie's new song from Sound City Reel to Real.Movie Soundtrack. You can't Fix This would love to have seen this song on this tour set its a new song and would fit in great has a Fleetwood Mac sound and it rocks.the 2 new songs not impressed to me they sound like sleepers of a songs.

I think "Sad Angel" is a more appealing peppy snappy up-tempo number than Say You Will's peppy snappy up-tempo numbers. That's my point of comparison for reacting (not that it has to be anyone else's). I don't think it's an instant classic for the millennium or anything but for me its unmitigatedly enjoyable (as far as I can tell right now) whereas a lot of their recent songs have been "Pretty good, but would've been nice with/without ..."etc. It feels nice to not have to qualify my appreciation of a new Fleetwood Mac song. I think the guitar's sweet and the harmony makes me smile, the beat gets my toe tapping, etc. It's pretty mainstream without feeling blase to me, it's just a basic pop song doing what good pop songs do (sound good).

This is JMO, music's subjective etc etc. But I'm truly really happy to hear "Sad Angel" after SYW.

I think Lindsey's songs were stellar on SYW. There were a few of Stevie's I liked.

I loved all the songs on Say You Will it really is a master piece of an album love it.

Well, that's opinions for ya, everyone's got their own. I don't mean to offend by offering mine. I really liked about half of Lindsey's and Stevie's songs each, and thought they could've made a good regular-length album. But among the songs I liked, the peppier snappier up-tempo ones weren't really among them. Like, I really like "Miranda" and "Bleed to Love Her", but "Say You Will" and "What's the World Coming To" and to an extent "Steal Your Heart Away", not so much.

I also didn't like the production a whole hell of a lot, it could sometimes be interesting but my appreciation was kind of intellectual and not emotional.

Bleed to Love Her should of been a single. That song is a classic. One of the best songs he has ever written and it makes an emotional impact. I remember when the Dance came out, people were humming that song.

That it does. In fact, it sounds like Lindsey has been listening to Katy Perry and whatever else gets radio play these days. The song is all chorus, with a few "signature" FM licks thrown in. Really bland, in my view.

I hate to be a downer, but Lindsey's voice sounded horrible on it. Sorry, folks. It isn't good.

agree completely. I think the single choices have been off for a while now

If this is what they have to offer, I could do without a new album
 

"Sad angel, have you come to fight the war?" What war?! Sounds like a somewhat uptempo "Peacekeeper." Dull as dish water.

Imho, the crowd at the Columbus show responded very, very well to Sad Angel. They were receptive to the others as well, but SA the most.

I say this because the night before, I was at the Elton John concert and when he played his new material, it seemed like "sit down" or "bathroom break" time.

It's a winner in my book. A catchy little song and they sound great together on it. I guess I can see where some people might think it's a bit beige, but I also think that aspect of it means it will generally go over with audiences quite well.

I hope it stays in the setlist all the way to Australia!

I seriously doubt they will drop the new song at any point. They've been promoting it in interviews for months that they would be playing it.

I was pleasantly surprised by Sad Angel; it is lovely.

The first time I listened to it I thought it was boring as hell....
The second time, I started to like it...
And now it's really catchy and the lines "hello, hello sad angel, have you..." are in my ear constantly...:thumbsup:

I know. The last "hello, hello" in the chorus is deeper and huskier than the others and I go around singing it, first high, then low, sounding like an idiot.

I like it better than Peacekeeper. I'd love to have them going on Leno or The Today show singing this one, like they did Peacekeeper.
