The Farmer's Daughter- Yes or No

They probably won't, but how many of you would like the Farmer's Daughter in the 2013 setlist. I've always enjoyed it when they perform it, it's a really cool song and an interesting one to cover. I love listening to it on the "Live" album.

michelej1 04-02-2013 04:34 PM

I don't think it's too obscure. They've incorporated it into their history. I just think they have other things they need to do with their time this tour and too many of their own songs to perform. Aside from that the harmony won't work the way it did when Christine was there.

I'd love it, but not without Christine in the vocalmix. It's basicly a threepart harmony in which her round brown voice is irreplacable.

shackin'up 04-02-2013 04:37 PM

OK, michelej, you posted when I typed..... But I didn't vote, my answer is not in the list...

RavenOfRhiannon 04-02-2013 04:41 PM

I voted no, but because there's no Chris, not because it's too obscure. As was posted earlier, it's all about the 3 part harmony

Josh2003 04-02-2013 04:46 PM

Same as what others have said. LOVE the song, and would love to see it in the setlist...but not without Christine to add the third vocal. Wouldn't be the same with Sharon/Lori.

mylittledemon 04-02-2013 07:07 PM

I would say yes if Christine was on the tour...

HomerMcvie 04-02-2013 07:18 PM

So we're missing the obvious answer...

It's not FM without Christine!!!;)

MacShadowsBall 04-02-2013 09:02 PM

I voted the second option. I like the song but like others have said it's those three part harmonies that made that song for the Mac.

Although, I suppose a Buckingham Nicks style for the song could work.

Villavic 04-02-2013 09:04 PM

Oh yes I love it, and don't matter it's not written by a mac. I just love it

CADreaming 04-03-2013 09:40 AM

My answer is : No, it will not work without Christine.

StevieNicksfann 04-03-2013 09:50 AM

No - they have too many of their own songs they neglect in setlists

jbrownsjr 04-03-2013 10:24 AM

No - Christine makes this song for me.

Gene 04-03-2013 11:15 AM

Yes, great offbeat song (For FM) that would work in an acoustic set in the middle of the show. (Not that an acoustic set will happen.) Would love to see Fireflies incorporated as well!

That would fit this line-up.

jbrownsjr 04-03-2013 02:20 PM

Fireflies is a great tune! And can be done without Christine. My vote goes to Fireflies.

redbird 04-03-2013 02:32 PM

I wouldn't hold my breath for Fireflies but boy would I love it. That song always makes me a little verklempt, in a very Fleetwood Mac specific way.

NOMAD2 04-06-2013 12:29 AM

Good gosh doesn't anyone remember that they actually did play FARMER'S DAUGHTER (nice song & finale of 1997 setlist) yet they STILL refuse to play FROZEN LOVE OR CRYSTAL OR TANGO IN THE NIGHT.
But,Bring out the tired old (many non hits mind you ) songs again. EYES OF THE WORLD is FM version of PAUL MCCARTNEY'S LET ME ROLL IT ( he refuses to drop that song as well).

BombaySapphire3 04-06-2013 12:49 AM

Fireflies might have actually lured me back into attending a show .It should have been considered instead of the watering down of the once magnificent Sisters of the Moon.

redbird 04-06-2013 01:22 AM

Would her voice be able to handle a song like "Fireflies"? I know it's no "Rhiannon", but.

Maybe "Straight Back" would sound good with her present voice, I dunno. It's slower than "Stand Back" I think, and to my untrained ear the ranges don't sound too different.

StandbackStevie 04-06-2013 06:41 AM

I think if they spent more time rehearsing the opening night show would be greater than what it was it was an ok show from what I saw clips of.I would love to hear Don't Let Me Down Again from Buckingham Nicks and would love to hear them do Stevie's new song You can't Fix This.

NOMAD2 04-06-2013 09:10 PM

You can't Fix This.

You can't Fix This got medicore reviews from "professional" critics...cough,cough! I love it especially, the DAVID LETTERMAN live appearance.

Well...there's my answer, too. Of course, Homie, that last sentence is with tongue firmly planted in cheek, correctomundo?
