BREAKING: Christine McVie to rejoin Fleetwood Mac for 2013 tour

Los Angeles - EW Exclusive
Entertainment Weekly has learned that Christine McVie will be joining Stevie Nicks, Linsdey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, and John McVie on their upcoming 2013 World Tour, kicking off in Columbus, OH this week.
'After playing with Mick and John in Hawaii a few weeks ago, I realized how much I had missed performing,' McVie told EW. 'What really convinced me was attending a few rehearsals with the band and seeing how energized they were. I knew I could not miss out on this opportunity.'
Mick Fleetwood could hardly contain his excitement, 'We've been rehearsing with Chris for a few weeks now, hoping to surprise the fans with this reunion. Chris is playing beautifully, and having the 3 part harmonies with Stevie and Lindsey back brought a tear to my eye on more than one occassion.'
Nicks concurs, 'The last two tours with Fleetwod Mac were just not fun for me. I missed Chris and her English sense of humor. Having her back means more than I can say.'
Buckingham says he hopes having McVie back in the mix will help convince Nicks to record a Mac album, 'Chris hasn't committed to anything beyond the tour, but maybe the road will convince the girls that we can put out new music.'

^^ Meh. You could have put a little more effort into this to make it believable.

Wow, that's SO not funny.

I actually believed the article and was so happy about it, I even had tears in my eyes and was shivering with both anticipation and excitement. It was a dream come true - well, for a few seconds.

Even tho I knew it was an April Fool, I loved how authentic the sound bites are! (Especially John making no comment whatsoever as usual.)

You had me for a minute...Time to dry up the tears.

It's a little insulting that you think we're that stupid.

poetinmyheart 04-01-2013 10:50 AM

My heart skipped a beat when I saw this. Forgot that it was April Fools :distress:

Whoa, there. I make no assumptions on anyone's intelligence. It's all in good fun. April Fool's jokes are just jokes. This was not meant to be mean to anyone.

RickRobert 04-01-2013 11:02 AM

April Fools is still a thing in 2013?

seanthompson 04-01-2013 11:12 AM

So not funny.

Taken in the spirit in which it was intended. It's April 1st people, come on!

Villavic 04-01-2013 11:38 AM

Even though in Peru today is not Fool's day, but December 28th (and we call it Innocents day), I didn't believe it any time. I would have believe it if it says "for some special dates", but not the whole tour.

Gene 04-01-2013 12:11 PM

Not that funny, was it?

HomerMcvie 04-01-2013 12:45 PM

Not That Funny, given how much it would mean, to so many of us, for that scenario to be true...:distress:

jbrownsjr 04-01-2013 12:54 PM

This was already done and it was cruel the first time.

Macfanforever 04-01-2013 12:55 PM

Holy sheet .This thread title shocked me. Is this true or a April fools joke they are pulling in front of FM fans.

I tell you all one thing .They will clean house on ticket sales if Christine rejoins the Mac on this tour.

Eugene 04-01-2013 01:29 PM

Skip, RELAX. It's a joke by the original poster.:sorry:

jeffreychrist 04-01-2013 01:32 PM

I thought it was hilarious.

Relax people. It's only music. It's not as if he said "A cure for Cancer was found!!! APRIL FOOL'S!!!"

Amen. I sometimes feel I'm living in an era where humour is being rationed. Maybe it's because of the Recession...

Nathan 04-01-2013 01:35 PM

Stupid. Waste of space.

shackin'up 04-01-2013 01:36 PM

i thought it was funny, although tasteless and very obviously an april foolsjoke. I chuckled.

I thought it was a funny AF joke - I fell for it for a few seconds. No harm, no foul.

But if I read you right, and you're saying that tickets for this tour would suddenly sell out if Christine did come back into the fold... I gotta disagree. It's not like it's been that long since Chris toured with them, and she's just not as vital to the band - to casual fans - as Stevie or Lindsey... IMO

We're not talking Mike Nesmith rejoining the Monkees here! ;)

The same here in Argentina.

I want to hit someone...

Disagree. If you asked the casual fan to name the FM songs they know and might want to hear at a concert, at least half would be hers.

At both shows I saw in 03 and 09 people were wondering aloud why a lot of the "80s hits" eg Little Lies and Everywhere had been left out. They may not know her name or face as well as they might know Stevie's, but they know her songs and tend to expect them. Stevie admitted as much before Unleashed when explaining why they were attempting Say You Love Me.

whitewingdove 04-01-2013 08:12 PM

Screw YOU! I started to cry!! :P

OK, YOU SUCK !!! The minute I logged onto THE LEDGE and saw this "Breaking News", I started shaking, screaming and shouting. Everyone around me thought I was nuts !!!

Not true, I will never go see them live again without the whole band. Just not the same for me. It's not like I just like CM, it's that I like ALL of them together. Magic is GONE for me...but I'll still buy the new stuff they record. If this thread was true...I'd buy a ticket in a second.

Is this response the real April Fools joke?! If Christine came back, there'd be WAY more audience enthusiasm from the general public--not to mention the fans.

Thank god we're not talking about the Monkees. The Mac with Christine is someting way bigger.

Well, FM is bigger, but I know people who are way into the Monkees and Michael Nesmith was/is a true artist. Way deeper than the music you hear on that tv show.

I listen to a podcast that spends about 50% of its time talking about Nesmith and the hosts will be seeing him in concert very soon, so heaven help me. They'll never shut up about him now.:distress:

Oh, I agree. It's great fun to tease the joyless, with tastes of joy.

I might point out the numerous mentions of tears in this thread. It's a cold world and people are fragile. Have a heart - in this refuge for delusional Fleetwood Mac fans.

MacShadowsBall 04-02-2013 12:28 PM

I logged on, saw the thread, and knew it was an April Fools joke!
