I like your favorite as well.

However, I am still bothered that didn't hire a professional to do this!!! So cheap to me.

deribish 03-12-2013 09:21 AM

I disagree. These posters, and that one in particular, are so much better than what a "professional" would do. Have you seen the "professional" work Stevie and the Mac often use? Think stevie tourbooks, the same mac logo and photo for 10+ years, the band's website... The band and their handlers dont seem to care about this stuff. So it's nice that the fans do and can produce a lovely piece of art for the band. Whether or not it is used is another thing. (any one remember that Tshirt contest a few tours back?)

bluecalmsea 03-12-2013 09:30 AM

Interesting- to me, most of those in the contest are awful. I don't necessarily mean they should use the "professionals" they have used in the past, or designs by Chris Nicks.... I'm saying they should go all out and hire someone who is *excellent* and pay for quality. But to each his/her own :)

A lot of British artist are doing this , and it is not cheap it gives some people with amazing talent a break and someone with a lot of balls and a crayon or photoshop a chance to try AT least they tried !!! You can see who put in an effort and who went with the obvious . why should the same people keep getting the work and then using the same publicity still over and over and over poster website tees and press .... oh yeah any change is bad must be familiar must keep with the "brand"

bluecalmsea 03-12-2013 10:22 AM

I think a $500 prize for a poster that will be used for generating publicity for something that will bring in millions of dollars is cheap. If they made it a really cool prize, I would feel differently. I couldn't even get a professional logo for my business for less than $1,000 and I am very small-time :p

I guess I will just have to agree to disagree on this topic! :xoxo:

I like two entries by Garrett Oie, numbers 37 and 61 but I would choose number 37 as the better of the two for me at least! I like his choice of design, colour/color, and because he blended the past with the, recent, present.

Fireflies 03-12-2013 04:31 PM

most of these are just...terrible.

Macfanforever 03-12-2013 06:14 PM

Thanks for sharing. I think FM or Stevie should let us fans put a tourbook together. That will never happen do to legal issues doing something like that.

Wow! I really like that one.

Macfanforever 03-12-2013 11:59 PM

Some of those were not that bad. Those light colored one were hard to read.

Jondalar 03-13-2013 02:42 AM

Some of those are really good, but I agree that http://assets5.creativeallies.com/sy...jpg?1362642971 and hope it wins.

Sanne2 03-13-2013 06:48 AM

I like this one, but it suggests that Christine is also touring, but I like the art nouveau style
http://assets0.creativeallies.com/sy...jpg?1362290456

I like this one too:

And this one:

This penguin is cool, but everything else is ugly:

I agree most of them are pretty terrible.

michelej1 03-13-2013 09:30 PM

There's one just showing rocking chairs on a porch. That's hysterical.

This one is just frightening.

Holy crap there are SO many! I like the one that was initially posted as a favorite, but then there are some others w/ Elephant or Penguin graphics that give the feel of FM. Also some (possible?) original artwork of the band members are cool. I like some that mix 70's era pics w/ more recent, but for the love of god Mac fans QUIT putting SN as the focal point for a Mac piece!!!!

redbird 03-14-2013 10:12 AM

Some of them are nice but rely too directly on the Rumours imagery, makes it seem like a glorified nostalgia trip (and maybe that's what it is but I wouldn't advertise it that way). Some of them have really nice typography going on but I prefer some pictures myself. I agree that the penguin one lauded above is one of the best, I hope it wins.

I like the idea of this one though I think ultimately it might be hard to read.

http://creativeallies.com/creations/...-fleetwood-mac
This one is a cool idea IMO too although maybe the older incarnations of the members should've been right side up? Still think it's a neat concept.

http://creativeallies.com/creations/...-fleetwood-mac
I think this is pretty.

http://creativeallies.com/creations/...-fleetwood-mac
This is nice.

http://creativeallies.com/creations/...-fleetwood-mac
Disregarding the "Rumours" that's a solid design I think.

http://creativeallies.com/creations/...-fleetwood-mac or alternatively http://creativeallies.com/creations/...-fleetwood-mac
Solid.

http://creativeallies.com/creations/...-fleetwood-mac
There's some things about that one that I like.

http://creativeallies.com/creations/...-fleetwood-mac
That one too, I think the clouds are too much though. But the sunburst idea is good IMO.

http://creativeallies.com/creations/...-fleetwood-mac
Not too bad.

http://creativeallies.com/creations/...-fleetwood-mac
This one looks nice but it doesn't remind me of the Mac much.

http://creativeallies.com/creations/...-fleetwood-mac
I wish the artist worked with this one more, I like the idea of leaving Rumours behind like a hazy image in your rear view mirror ... or maybe it's just starting to come back into view? I don't know if this is being billed as a Rumours tour or not, and I don't think it should be personally, but still there's a cool concept in there IMO.

I saw the one Sanne2 linked on Tumblr, I really like it as well.

Very scary indeed! We are trying to sell tickets for the band not scare people half to death with an image like that. I like images 37 and 61 for the simple fact that people can easily recognize the band and image of the design. The colors/colours are also easy to look at. You don't have to try to analyze it too much unlike the design with the penquin, elephant, piano, albattross, rattlesnake, (if that's what that's supposed to be), etc. This may be too confusing for the general public to take in if they're not familiar with the band, (just saying).
