"Gold Dust Woman" -- Live at Sundance
|
she always seems so energized and inspired in these one-off type events.. she seems to rise to the challenge out of her comfort-zone-womb of FM and the solo outings.
|
That was amazing, one of the best GDW in years!
|
i HATE saying this! If Stevie weren't tied to the FM "cash-cow" she could make herself relevant again. this Sound City thing is getting SO much good press. DUMP the FM boys and go tour with DG . it would be the new Travelling Wilburys! radio and video and tv exposure
(yeah, had too many drinks tonight, but STILL) |
Oh my god I have not seen Stevie perform this song this good since the Dance DVD. But this was on a whole other level. She was moving so much it was awesome. you could really tell she was loving it so much. What an electric performance!! I understand that it is probably draining if she were to do that every night on tour and plus doing that in a large arena is just not the same as being really intimate. So it is really special to be able to have this.
One of my new favourites forsure. She is a GODDESS |

Very nice energy! Maybe has something to do with performing with a different band, but I think it has more to do with wearing pants, she seems so much more comfortable in pants these days. Time to ditch the dresses. :)
Sad part is by mid-tour this year we'll probably see a more robotic, listless Stevie, fed up with standing beside Lindsey night after night. What I would love to see her/them do is focus on some creative new music and save the live stuff for events. Certainly would have more meaning seeing great clips like this and listening to great new records than it would be shelling out $,1000 for a decent seat at what would likely be a disappointing concert. I just don't like the Mac with the entourage of "back-up" musicians. Just my 2 cents. |
Awesome energy, but she sounds god awful vocally in all of these clips. I hope she gets enough rest before the huge FM trek!
Love the jam at the end! |
The energy was great, but yeah I have definitely heard better GDW vocals recently than this. She just sounds a little hoarse. But she seemed to be having fun which is great!
I bet it's nice playing with different (and younger :P) people, exciting all. |

I'm glad you and AliceLover said that about her vocals though, because I was thinking the same... I didn't want to sound callous. I totally appreciate her energy, but the vocals sounded hoarse and flat at times. Even though it's a sort of painful, lamenting song it still has this warm quality to it that was lacking here - that might be due to the rocked up quality with the Foo Fighters though? She better take it easy! :xoxo: |
i think she's channeling janice. w/out the heroin.;)

I bet this would be a real energized rock band and they would sound good together as long as Dylan doesn't sing  |
Awesome performance, she can always belt it out on this song. Dave Grohl was a good choice too.
|
She sounds great. But I rather see Waddy and the band or FM to that matter.
|
Great energized performance, so cool to see Stevie rockin it with Dave, Taylor & Crew.
Note to Stevie: Forget taking a backseat to Lindsey & the boys on this next tour, get LOOSE and give it your ALL. |
Anyone else think that with the glasses, Stevie is channeling Janis just a little? :)
Kevin |
She should take Dave Grohl on tour with her.

umm the vocals were kinda ragged and flat, but because of her energy, it worked. She was into it. I hope she sounds better with Lady A though.

I don't care if her vocals were a little off, id rather see Stevie channel that same intensity when performing GDW, Rhiannon & now hopefully SOTM , than concentrating to sing perfectly... IMO:D Unfortunately she has a different mindset when touring with The Mac:distress:, tho hopefully she will prove us all wrong this time around:blob2: |
I wonder if they spoke about his infamous cover of Leather and Lace with Will Ferrell.

If she could take the last few minutes of that version and splice it with the Soundstage version of the beginning, you might have the greatest live rock n roll song of all time.
How is that woman not in the Rock n Roll hall of fame? |
That band sounded amazing!!!!!!! She should make this her new touring band!

Thats like having Tom Petty without the Heartbreakers or Bruce without the E street band. |

I agree with you. This sounded fresh and rocking and seems to give her energy

There is absolutely, without a doubt no question that she belongs in the RR HOF as a solo artist. |

Thats like the anti country music statements on the Lady A thread. Anyway I'm glad for her going out and having fun with everybody. I rather see her perform with Lawrence Welk's band.LOL Who . Let me get the bubbles out.LOL....... |
ok..
Ms. Nicks rocked it. I love.. love.. this version.. it didn't rock a little.. it rocked a lot!
..please bring this energy to the Fleetwood Mac tour, Ms. Nicks... you still have it.. |
This is great! I have never heard any band play this song better live.
This is the best live version I have ever heard. I hope FM listens to it and learns how to actually play the song live (for a change). |

Seriously, though, this version of GDW was very refreshing!! I like the tempo amped up...gave it a whole new "suit of clothes", as Christine would say... |
