Predict the 2013 tour setlist contest?
Ya'll know I like doing contests, so here's one I was thinking might be fun and different. Here's what I'm thinking. Let me know what you think as it may or may not work well.
Every few days, I'd post a thread asking what songs you think FM will include in the setlist. Each thread would break it down by either vocalist and/or album. For example one thread/poll might be, "Will any Peter songs be in the setlist?" Options might be "No"; "Yes, 1 song"; "Yes, 2 songs," etc. If you think a song will be included then post that song title with your vote. So if you think that "Oh Well" will be in the setlist then you'd vote "Yes, 1 song" then reply giving your opinion and song title. This would go on covering all FM material and even the BN album and solo material. Remember the idea is to predict what Fleetwood Mac will have in the setlist, not what you hope is in the setlist or what should be in the setlist. You can base your predictions on the latest news, previous comments from FM, and previous tours. (I feel a Bob Welch song should be in the setlist, but I don't think one will.) After the threads have ended we would compile of Ledge prediction setlist for FM and then when the tour begins, see how accurate we are. Perhaps a chance for each Ledgie to post his/her own prediction setlist. Does this sound interesting and could this work? Let me know, Ledgies and Moderators, too! |
in no particular order:

you got 11 obligatory hits: Dreams Don't Stop Go Your Own Way Big Love Landslide Second Hand News Rhiannon Gold Dust Woman I'm So Afraid The Chain Never Going Back Again plus there will be Gypsy too, and Tusk for sure so that's 13 songs SN has mentioned that are in strong consideration or definite (SS and SA): Hold Me - possibly? Sisters of the Moon Silver Springs Soldier's Angel that's 3 maybe just 1 of the 2 new songs? Sad Angel or Miss Fantasy 1 more maybe they'll consider dropping SB and GI as solo contributions this time around, especially if SN is bringing in SA? Go Insane Stand Back Walk a Thin Line - i so wish you are correct with this one!! 1 more! more Tusk songs? Angel - probably WMYTYTO - probably not, but i so wish they would do it!! 1 more SYW songs LB performed this year: Bleed To Love Her probably Come - probably not 1 more BN songs? Stephanie maybe I Don't Wanna Know? (Rumours song from BN era) so that's 1 or 2 more Oh Well maybe? so i have 21 or 22 probable here... obviously if they go for 21 there's not much space (but why people?? do what Bruce does: longer set!!) |
It's not easy to choose the Chris' songs!
Here's mine, in no particular order: - The Chain - Dreams - Gold Dust Woman - I'm so Afraid - Bleed to love Her - Gypsy - Big Love - Go Insane - Rhiannon - Silver Springs - Go your own way - Don't Stop - Tusk - Never going back again - Second hand news - Sara - Landslide - Walk a thin line - New Song 1 - New Song 2 - One song from Say You Will (Come, WTWCT, Say Goodbye, Goodbye Baby) - Oh Well (maybe) - You make loving fun????? I always thought that Everybody Finds Out was an ideal song to perform live, but if they didn't play it on the SYW tour, I don't believe they could play it now... Regards! |

I'm not that good at this but .They can play tunes that were left out from the last tours that they did.Somebody should send Stevie a message to have FM play SOTM or we can start a campaign on it on Face Book or YouTube.
|
Looks like have gotten started! Remember to post your list of songs you think Fleetwood Mac will play, NOT what you hope they play. You make update your predictions as things develop.
I'll get a thread going with the voting for select Mac members/albums. Awesome start! |

This is a fun thread, thanks. Here's my prediction:
the obvious (all of which they could skip, IMHO) - Rhiannon - Landslide - I'm So Afraid - Monday Morning - Dreams - Don't Stop - Go Your Own Way - Never Going Back Again - Gold Dust Woman - The Chain - Silver Springs - Tusk 'deep' album cuts to surprise us: - Walk A Thin Line (okay, I admit, this is more hope than speculation) - That's All For Everyone (just a hunch) - Angel - Blue Letter songs from the BN album (or related): - Don't Let Me Down Again (wouldn't that be amazing?) - Frozen Love (yes, I really believe they'll play this one) - I Don't Want To Know - Sorcerer (SN & LB did that in 74/75) one song, apart from 'Don't Stop', to explicitly honour Christine: - Everywhere additional prediction and speculation: songs I do NOT believe they will play: - Big Love (at least not the solo version) - Gypsy - Hold Me - Stand Back - Twisted (I so wish they would do this one) |

Oh my goodness, I had no idea where to put this, but thought this would be the best spot. It's an article about the Stones touring, but check out what they did recently:
"Yet all eyes were on Jagger, a cosmic blur of hips and ribs and lips, attacking each song with an unbelievably ruthless rocks-off energy, whether he was shimmying through "Honky Tonk Women" or strumming his guitar for "Dead Flowers," in its first appearance of the tour. (It was a fan selection, as voted via the band’s new smartphone app.)" I know Bruce has picked out people's signs from the crowd, touting song requests, and has played them. Now I'd really love this for FM, but more realistically Lindsey :) Obviously, not the whole show, but man I think that would be fun. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne...k=mostpopular3 |

Deep Cuts would most likely come from the first three albums.
white: Crystal is all that qualifies right? rumours: I don't Want To know? Tusk: Angel? SOTM? a buuunch of Lindsey. I would say any surprises would come from Tusk. And there won't be more than two, which means my setlist would still win the contest jajajaj. |
Here's my guess...
Here's my guess....
1. The Chain 2. Dreams 3. Monday Morning 4. Miss Fantasy 5. Gypsy 6. Big Love (NON-acoustic version) 7. Second Hand News 8. Never Going Back Again 9. Landslide 10. Rhiannon 11. Sad Angel 12. I'm So Afraid 13. Tusk 14. Silver Springs 15. Sara 16. Crystal 17. Seven Wonders 18. Hold Me (Lindsey On Lead Vocals) 19. Stand Back 20. Go Your Own Way 21. World Turning 22. Don't Stop 23. Sisters Of The Moon I have the feeling the closest we are going to get to Buckingham/Nicks material is going to be "Crystal".... |
you know everybody here keeps talking about wanting deep cuts, but most of the lists have just hits they play all the time plus hits they played before. how is Sara a deep cut? or SW which was a single and had MTV video?
EDIT: of course, this is a prediction thread so... i guess we expect no deep cuts. |

Donny Osmond does a radio show in Vegas. This morning he mentioned Fleetwood Mac's 2013 tour and played a clip of Stevie's interview where she described writing a big list of songs on the board and picking and choosing from those. She says that what works in 2013 may be different from what worked in 2009 or 2003. After the clip, this was Donny's take-away: "So you never know what you're going to hear. Every show is different. That's really cool."

BTW: Hi John.... |
Keep sending in your prediction setlist. Remember too that you can always edit/change your prediction setlist as things develop. I'll set a cut-off date in a few weeks as we still have several albums and polls left; Lindsey/Stevie solo songs, Christine Mac songs, Say You Will songs, Post-Rumours songs, etc
My computer at home is not working and I'm off from my main job until Wednesday, so I won't be online again till then! Merry Christmas, everyone! |

Update #3
Here's the most up-to-date Ledge Prediction Setlist.
1. Rhiannon 2. Landslide 3. Gold Dust Woman 4. Dreams 5. Silver Springs 6. I'm So Afraid 7. The Chain 8. Never Going Back Again 9. Second Hand News 10. Go Your Own Way 11. Tusk 12. Sara 13. Sisters of the Moon 14. Eyes of the World 15. Gypsy 16. Big Love 17. Frozen Love * No songs from Peter, Jeremy, Danny or Bob Welch. * 1 Buckingham Nicks song * 7 Lindsey Mac songs * 8 Stevie Mac songs |
It's whacky to even consider that they would want to perform any Fleetwood Mac songs prior to them joining the band. The only exception to that would be "Oh Well." And I'm not really interested in hearing them perform any of Christine's songs. "Don't Stop" should be stopped!
Likely we'll get all the well-worn songs and just a few surprises. It sucks because I haven't seen them in concert since the Say You Will tour, and haven't seen Stevie since Trouble in Shangri-la. I want to see them in Boston, but I can't imagine paying hundreds of dollars for nose-bleed seats. What's screwing with my head right now is that I my sister, who is a lightweight fan at best, just told me she bought tickets to the show for her and her boyfriend. WTF? |
setlist?
Here is my predictions (wishlist) for 2013. This of course is based on previous tours, what the band will do, and what they are capable of doing.
The first cords to CITN with Stevie signing “She was that Kinda Lady....” leading into: Second Hand News The Chain Dreams I'm So Afraid (Intro)/TITN Rhiannon Love Runs Deeper Thrown Down Eyes of the World Hold Me-L&S vocals (video montage of Chris/band over the years and a pic of Bob/Chris) Miss Fantasy Gypsy Go Insane (electric) Silver Springs Landslide Big Love Crystal Twisted World Turning Not That Funny Gold Dust Woman Tusk Stand Back GYOW encores: Don't Stop Frozen Love |

I'm still bullsh** that I have to hear Soldier's Angel live again. I respect the message behind it, but the song is just a complete snooze.
