Stevie Nicks would have strangled Nicki Minaj

Last season on “American Idol,” Stevie Nicks was a coach for the contestants. But she says she’s glad she’s not involved this year, now that smack-talking Nicki Minaj is there. Weighing on the rapper’s recent outburst against Carey, Nicks said, “How dare this little girl! … If I had been Mariah I would have walked over to Nicki and strangled her to death right there.”

Sitting poolside in East Hampton New York promoting her new documentary, “In Your Dreams,” the still stunning 64-year-old is on a rock and a roll. “I would have killed her in front of all those people and had to go to jail for it,” the former Fleetwood Mac star promised.

Nicks also revealed if she and Lindsey Buckingham were starting out today they would “absolutely” go on “American Idol,” “The X Factor” or “The Voice.” “That’s how you get seen these days,” she explained. But, Nicks says, “I would have had to drag [Lindsey] kicking and screaming. He probably would have given them the finger.”

And would she ever judge a show like that? Nicks insists, no way. “If you stick me in the middle of a burning fire,” she says, “I don’t think I’d like it very much.”

The comments on that article are cracking me up. Particularly love the one calling Stevie a HBIC.

That's how Joan of Arc came about. Turn it to the wall, baby.

Interesting that Stevie always goes for the neck.

Haha she is hilarious! I love her! My favorite remark, "How dare this little girl!" Damn straight Stevie!

*Felt the need to add I don't think violence is the answer to anything, but I think you can find it funny because I don't believe she is in anyway being remotely serious in her statements. She is just full of drama. And obviously, she was asked about it. She didn't just bring it up to add her two cents.

She learned from the best: Lindsey!

rhiannondontgo 10-09-2012 02:47 PM

Always with the strangling, Stevie. She really has been cracking me up lately.
I was dying when I saw this on twitter earlier under the headline "Stevie Nicks calmly discusses murdering Nicki Minaj"
Doesn't she love Mariah, and wrote her that letter about how "everybody else is crazy, and Mariah isn't", that Mariah always keeps in her jewelry box.

+10!

The Nicki Minaj comments were a hoot. Like I said last night -- Stevie's a total kook. And getting kookier every day it would seem! lol.

Jondalar 10-09-2012 03:20 PM

I hope the rag mags did dont get any of this.I don't want to see Stevie's face on those mags when I do my shopping. If I see her face on them.I'll end up dropping my pasta sauce on the floor.

"Attention Please" Need a porter with mob at register 4 for breakage.LOL.....

Kind of agree with Jondalar on this...

jkmaletic 10-09-2012 04:35 PM

Stevie fired up!!

She's so funny. Very outspoken lately. Love her.

I don't foresee this, but if this gets blown out of proportion and Minaj fans start dissing on Stevie, some s*it's gonna go down, holmes!!!

Bring it!

Jamie.

SummerlongBoots 10-09-2012 04:49 PM

LOVIN' THIS KICK-ASS STEVIE! :blob2:

Don't worry Mama, the Ledgies got your back if-eva you need us!

HejiraNYC 10-09-2012 05:05 PM

Well, at least we know that Liz Rosenberg is doing her job (for a change).

Accordingly, if this interview goes even remotely viral, I think Stevie should offer an apology. I don't think intimating physical violence of any sort is appropriate.

I think what she said was really funny and provocative. However, Stevie was talking about not writing a "tell all" because it would'nt be "classy," which I loved, and she was appropriately applaued for say so. But were her quotes about this really very, "classy?"

There's already idiotic like 13 year olds trashing Stevie for it on tumblr. I can't even understand half the insults because unfortunately I don't speak ghetto slang. (Despite years living in inner Atlantic City. ) But the gist is calling Stevie old or saying they didn't even know who she was (Not surprising that they wouldn't know decent music if they actually like Nicki Minaj).
Eh, whatever.

There's a color pic of Stevie on page 6 of the MSN homepage discussing this article.

GarboSpeaks! 10-09-2012 07:43 PM

Frankly, I think everyone should just be hush about it. Nicki and Mariah firing guns at each other....saves me the time-and rids my list of 2 additional talentless hacks :p

rhiannondontgo 10-09-2012 08:10 PM

Agreed. I think it's just entertaining. Stevie's drama and ridiculousness are some of my favorite things about her.
There's no need for people calling her a whore and insulting her on tumblr and twitter over a silly quote in an interview. I wonder if these Nicki fans know a single thing about Stevie when they say all this stuff. People need to chill out.

I can see this as brilliant and free marketing. Stevie now has 13 yo asking who she is. She's trending, making MSN and getting alot of attention. Could be a good thing

Sorry if this is double-posted but buzzfeed has it up now:

I wonder if Nikki Minaj's will even respond to Stevie's comment?
Im sure the media will run with it, just hoping it doesnt backfire into all out war, tho the thought of that could be very entertaining.. lol

Macfanforever 10-09-2012 10:26 PM

Stevie hates this woman. That make two of us.This Minaj woman fans probably never heard of Stevie Nicks or Stevie's sensible music then that mindless crap they like.

This is starting to scare me.

I hope it just fades away for Stevie's sake. She dont need these idiots coming after her and threatening her or anything other stupid thing.

Now I'm going to have nightmares.

Yeah I agree. While I think her comments are a little funny, she shouldn't have gotten involved. She probably doesn't know anything about Nicki Minaj (I don't either). I think she was just saying that if anybody came at her the way Nicki came at Mariah, she would 'kill them'.
Other people don't know Stevie like us and don't understand her dramatic side and occasional silliness. I know if anybody ever said they wanted to kill Stevie, I wouldn't be happy either. So I get the Stevie-hate coming from Nicki fans. I'd prefer they didn't mock her former addictions and call her a whore though. That's not cool. In my opinion.

johnnystorms 10-09-2012 11:49 PM

i too, would prefer Stevie had not commented, but the East Coast media lives for this... the more relevant question : will Nikki Minaj be making music FOUR years from now, much less FORTY years as Stevie has?

Wing24 10-09-2012 11:52 PM

She slam-dunked Lohan awhile back as well, remember? Personally I find it humorous and think she has earned the right to say whatever she wants. There is also a backstory here. She is defending someone she deems a friend.

QueenStevie 10-09-2012 11:58 PM

At least Stevie isn't so politically correct like Ann and Nancy Wilson!

michelej1 10-10-2012 12:22 AM

I remember Stevie saying something along the lines that she sometimes wanted to slap Jessica. It was one of her rants against computer technology and she said that sometimes her niece wouldn't even pay attention to her and would be so engrossed in the virtual world that she'd be rude to Stevie, making Auntie want to strike.

I remember that! Didn't she say she wanted to throw the computer out the window or something?

tilthefirefades 10-10-2012 04:42 AM

This just breaks my heart. I love Nicki so much. We don't even know the full story yet, and as far we know it is all for publicity. Of course I understand Stevie's perspective completely. But why is this video only Nicki's response? What did Mariah say that set her off?

Either way I hate this so much. 2 of my favorite artists ever are now "feuding" and then my Goddess has to make such a strong opinion on it. I wish it would all would just go away already :distress:
