Absolute Favorite Stevie Line....

This was close...

My vote goes to....

Love is a word that some entertain, If you find it, You have won the game.... Someone said Outside the Rain...

Okay, what is your favorite line?

skuncles 09-16-2012 08:29 PM

The motto I live by "Take on the situation and not the torment". I remind myself of this almost daily.

Blueletter18 09-16-2012 08:54 PM

The quote in my signature:)

mitzo 09-16-2012 09:05 PM

We come from different worlds but we are the same

WildHearted 09-16-2012 09:14 PM

Impossible to choose.

louielouie2000 09-16-2012 09:39 PM

I've always been partial to the line in The Nightmare where she says:

"somewhere in her ancient ways, she walks through the night..."

I really like the whole stanza, but that line is my favorite. Stevie is admitting she feels like she's out of place in the modern world, and instead belongs to an older, simpler time. Despite that, she's still making her way by holding on to that simplistic beauty. I've always hugely related to the sentiment.

rubylounge 09-16-2012 10:49 PM

My favorite:
"Just how deep do you hold that dream in your hands
each night."

rhiannondontgo 09-16-2012 11:10 PM

Oh I have so many favorites! I usually just lurk but I have to join in for this one.

"I have no fear, I have only love." - I find myself thinking that all the time, whenever I'm anxious.

"So we make our choices, when there is no choice. And we listen to their voices, ignoring our own voice." - This was echoing through my head all through those miserable middle school years.

"How the faces of love have changed, turning the pages. And I have changed, oh but you, you remain ageless." - I sign every letter to my grandparents with this little line. I adore it. I also have this on my wall, in little letter stickers, until a big picture collage of me and my dad, who I lost when I was 5. So it has personal meaning for me.

"As you walk away you know that I will call. If it's just to say goodnight, and that is all. Well alright, that's a lie. She says she wanted you to stay. But you know much better than she. She's better off this way."
- This kills me every time! It's just so raw.

"Take on the situation but not the torment, now you know its not as bad as it seems" - I know it's been said, but this line deserves so much appreciation. It's like my mantra.

"Someday when we're older, & my hair is silver gray. Unbraid with all of the love that you have, like a soft silver chain." - I think this is pretty much every little girl's dream of a love that lasts forever.

"All I ever wanted was to know that you were dreaming." - All of Sara. Enough said.

"I chose to dance across the stages of the world. Everyone said I'd never learn." - I just adore this. It's so Stevie. I was dying when she quoted it at the Borgata show I was at. and "Sometimes I think I was always on-call. Sometimes even I am allowed to fall." because I think it reflects Stevie's feelings on her life so well.

"Don't hide behind your hair, it's a bit of gold and braid." - I know this song was meant as a "get out of my business" thing to Lindsey, but I always interpreted it as being about confidence. And not hiding yourself from the world, and being insecure. It's something I always tell myself as a confidence booster.

" I bite my lip. Can you send me away? You touch, I have no choice. I have to stay." - I'm in love with pretty much all of Beautiful Child.

"Sunflowers and your face fascinate me. You go into the dusty pink day. I come calling unto you, but you run. You're the winner, long distance winner." - I adore this song and these lyrics. My friend Brian sent me flowers the other day, and he picked sunflowers and wrote "sunflowers and your face fascinate me" on the card, because he knows how much I love that line. and the lyrics to Races Are Run & Frozen Love deserve a mention too.

These two are obvious but "Don't blame it on me, blame it on my wild heart." and "Never have I been a blue calm sea, I have always been a storm." are just so relateable and pretty much exactly how I would describe myself, as well as Stevie.

And of course the lyrics to Landslide and Dreams are perfection. But they're quoted enough

"you CAN consume all the beauty in the room"

StreetAngel86 09-17-2012 02:12 AM

PolishStevieFan 09-17-2012 02:53 AM

Too many to count but I've always loved "long nets of white cloud my memory"...it's very poetic and imaginative.

Josh2003 09-17-2012 09:45 AM

"To make you smile, I'd like to be there for you."

"I used to dream that you were an angel, and I was a starving child...and we were magic."

"My heart still stops when I stand before you."

"I still look up when you walk in the room."

seekerj 09-17-2012 09:54 AM

"And the guardian of your challenge does not cry..."

Artemis 09-17-2012 10:02 AM

"Thunder only happens when it's raining" will always be my favourite Stevie line, and my first (and probably only) tattoo.

Off the top of my head, I'm also partial to...

"Heartbreak of the moment is not endless" I wanted this as my tattoo originally, but my friend said it's "too emo"

"I decided yesterday that I would leave you. I'm alright"

"You say it will be harder in the morning / I wait for you to say, "just go" / your hands held mine so few hours / but I'm not a child anymore / I'm tall enough to reach for the stars / I'm old enough to love you from afar / too trusting yes, then women usually are" - just that whole verse from Beautiful Child. I had a period a few months back where I listened to this song on repeat cause it just summed up everything I was feeling at the time.

"My darling lives in a world that is not mine"

"Another lady, another time, another heartbroken state of mind"

"My first mistake was to smile at you"

"I hear there's trouble in Shangri-La"

I think the first verse of Dreams is brilliantly written.

seekerj 09-17-2012 01:36 PM

"Timeless are the creatures who are wise, and timeless are the prisoners in disguise...."

-Lillith- 09-17-2012 02:30 PM

I have too many favorites to mention but what comes to my mind right now:

"I have come to know this world of changing faces, i cant fight the world i cant change it."

"Love is... what you believe it is" ... "knowing that it must seem to you lie the angels aren't doing there work for you, its true."

so much more.... ;)

fairydust75 09-17-2012 04:45 PM

1. Wait a minute baby, stay with me awhile. You said you give me light, but you never told me about the fire........

Wow, just Wow... I agree with rhiannondontgo. The whole song is poetry in motion, the fire in the rain, the sage that inspires our dreams.

"You go down to the laundromat... maybe... your sister is there."

Absolutely beautiful!

 hahahahah. That one made my day.
Lest we forget the Chimpanzee and Egypt lines. Street Angel was full of lyrics that make you tilt your head to the side and say WTF the first time you hear it. Gotta love it though. ;)

Macfanforever 09-17-2012 06:11 PM

I love when Stevie signs the autugraphs with."To So So Much Love " "Stevie Nicks".

what about the Black Knight of death line in three birds

KarmaContestant 09-17-2012 06:57 PM

Stevie has so many great lyrics that it would be impossible for me to pick an absolute favorite, but one of them I find the most profound is from Jane:

"Through a window, all our sorrows would become our only visions"

goliath111 09-17-2012 07:48 PM

"a soul that's true is your ride to glory"

Agreed.

Also-

You've left me now, and it's seasoned my soul

My mind won't rest and I don't sleep, not even in my dreams

Have you come to see, that my face isn't seen....outside my frost-covered windows

I haven't felt this way I feel, since many a year ago. But in those years and the lifetimes past I did not deal with the road. And I did not deal with you I know, though the love has always been

We all believe in people...That we think believe in God

darkcat 09-17-2012 08:41 PM

I second the " deal with situation, not the torment " line.
And I also love "lightening strikes, maybe once, maybe twice"
So many to choose from!

APerfectLie 09-17-2012 10:00 PM

Love all the ones mentioned! Take on the situation but not the torment has gotten me thru so many tough times. Here are some of my favs:

"And the days go by... they go into the seas that have no shores, haunted by that same closed door, looking up at skies on fire ~ leaving nothing left of us to discover..."

"Hearts made of crystal crumble like castles of sand"

"Look at me with daggers, it won't do you any good. All the looks that you used on me don't work now that you've fallen."

"And as her world turns she feels so alone."

"When you hang up that phone, well you cease to exist."

"A dream begun in wine..."

"I heard the islands calling, I hear angry words flying across the ocean like some seabirds, never stopping. I feel my blood racing, I can't believe what you are saying ~ I used to love you so much..."

"Well you could use a dreamer somewhere on your side."

"...but I am something of a dreamer."

Gypsybecca 09-17-2012 10:04 PM

Off the top of my head...some favorite Stevie lines-

"It's the Wicked to Wizard of Oz"

"It's like Kashmir....but not."

And the ultimate line: "So, when Lindsey and I moved to L.A.................................

One of my faves finishes these lines^^

'So I search to find an answer there. So I can truly win'.

Also

'Time cast a spell on you but you won't forget me. I know I could have loved you but you would not let me. '

I love a lot of the words from 'Real Tears', 'Sisters of the Moon', 'Outside the Rain'...there's just too many wonderful lyrics to name!

Fireflies 09-19-2012 02:16 AM

"i hope you find a love, your own designs of love..."

tilthefirefades 09-19-2012 03:21 AM

It's just one more link in the chain.

icinglover1995 09-19-2012 09:54 AM

I've always liked her analogy "like a ghost through the fog," which she uses more than once. It's witty, and true!

icinglover1995 09-19-2012 09:56 AM

Also, "I think that is the meaning of love, and I'm prepared to kick it!"

Dodfather 09-19-2012 11:48 AM

Got a few:

"He fell for her again, she watched it happen...."
"I'll follow you down 'til the sound of my voice will haunt you. You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you"
"In this same place I sit, the same place as before. Well I came all the way here just to watch you walk out that door."

DashingDan 09-19-2012 02:29 PM

booky wook

"I don't know how to learn it, not from the pages of that @!*#$@!!, not from a BOOK!"

beautifulchild 09-19-2012 03:23 PM

My forever favorite, and first tattoo...is "Come in~ out of the darkness..." from Bella Donna, and then later in In Your Dreams.
