What happened to the Ledge?
 

When it was down this time there was some weird text that came up that I had not seen before.After the Seven Wonders board so recently going the way of the Dodo I feared the same thing had happened here.I am glad it hasn't yet even if these types of forums seem to be on the decline .They are so much better than Facebook etc.

I was just going to post and ask the same thing. It seems the past few days the Ledge is only letting me on about once a day, and the rest of the time weird text shows up. I'm glad it wasn't just me!

Well I haven't noticed anything. Then again I haven't logged on since Aug 15th! Been crazy busy!

Yeah, I noticed the same error message when trying to access the site? It was strange--was it some kinda update to the site? The message said something about 'cookies' very strange.:shrug:

I had the same fear. It's almost 2 days that I couldn't enter on the forum. And some hours ago, this page appeared instead of the main page:

I know. I've checked every few hours, for the past 2 days.

I'm just glad it's back.

This is the last surviving FM forum, as far as I know. Let's keep it alive, and, if the moderators etc. should ever, God forbid, decide to shut down I pray they give us ample advance notice to say goodbye, find other venues to communicate, and collect things from this huge archive of ideas, facts, trivia, material, opinions, and more.

I doubt(and certainly HOPE) that day never comes. This has always been the BEST FM site out there. That's why it's still standing, when the others have gone by the wayside.

Yeah it is the last..when it went down this time and then came back up I thought it was a good time to become a supporting member .

Just saw Michele's sticky at the top of each forum. I wish we could reply to that as I thought of a concern regarding what was said in the last sticky. Michele said she came off the dedicated server to get the cost down but the reason Marty went to the dedicated server was because of the bandwidth issues that were caused when not on the dedicated server (mainly due to the traffic on the chit chat board here). So I hope we're not back to square one?

I got a different text, about an Internal sever error.
And during last week there were times the website just couldn't be found.

Thank God it's back. I was worried. :thumbsup:

Now with Seven Wonders gone, perhaps we should seek some sponsoring from the Mac themselves? I guarantee you, with all of their forums gone their fanbase and ticket sales would suffer dramatically. I mean, Stevie burns her fireplace in the summer and cranks up the AC just for the ambiance, I seriously doubt the running cost of this site would even be noticeable to her.

This is the same problem myself and MacFanForever were encountering. I'm glad Michele figured out how to save us.

Yes.I'm glad we are up and running.As mentioned as some posts were lost.I lost a couple posts.But no big deal.

At first I thought it was my connection.

Given some of the harsh rhetoric and all of the bootleg recordings floating this forum, I suspect that FM would be more inclined to pay to shut The Ledge down than to support it. :lol:

Now I know why this place has been so quiet for the past few days! I had thought everyone was just busy...
