Before and after every show, I read posts from people online who are so excited to be seeing Lindsey in concert. Some for the first time, others longtime fans. I've not heard a single negative after the shows, but I've heard from plenty of people who were blown away! I've met so many people, myself, at his concerts and without exception, people leave feeling like they just were a part of something really special. This has been my experience again and again, with both people seeing Lindsey for the first time, and people who'd seen him before. I went with a guy who hadn't seen him since Tusk tour. He was more giddy than I was to be seeing him ( and that's pretty giddy! ), and was almost beside himself with joy during the concert! He wasn't alone either. Lindsey puts so much into these shows, and what's really cool is the give and take between Lindsey and the fans. These small venues are a real gift. Obviously he can play  And his voice is pretty amazing too. He just puts on an incredible show. I can't imagine why anyone would expect to be disappointed  |

If you go in with an open mind you will be blown away for sure - the show was not at all what I expected!! My first tour was last year and while this tour was very different and maybe not quite at visual due to there only being one person up there, it was every bit as good as the tour with all the boys last year. Hes obviously trying something different and I think we should support it fully as the alternative is no dates til neale is better. :) Im sure you will love the show :) |
Quote:
My first time seeing him alone was OOTC and I think I've seen him more than 50 times since then and if the tour does add more shows towards the end of September, I hope to see him again this tour too. But I'm glad it wasn't my first time and hope it won't have been my last. Michele |

however, as Lindsfan has listed nicely, judging by impressions we all had leaving these shows as well as talking to people and reading reviews, experiencing Lindsey completely solo like this seems to be even more gripping on most new audience members. of course, opinions and tastes are extremely personal and some people will like one thing over another. |

The difference between this tour and the previous ones reminds me of the difference between Lindsey on the Dance DVD and Lindsey on the actual Dance tour. I loved that dvd. I slept with it. The first few weeks I had it, watching it was the last thing I did before going to bed each night. I would watch it 3 times in one day on some occasions. That dvd introduced most people to Big Love, but I found that LB was rather formal and constrained on the dvd. On the Best Buy CD Christine said that the rest of them formed a bed on which Lindsey could roll around and do whatever he wanted -- that sentiment came through to me on the tour. He was all over and just as fascinating to watch during GDW, Silver Springs and Stand Back as he was on his own songs. A fiery flash of movement and energy and my little demon that gave me so much more Lindsey than the DVD did and I feel that way about this tour, compared to past ones. So, to take what you said, I'd just add: "If you like raw, intense, passionate, in-your-face stage-commanding performance showing off incredibly versatile guitar prowess, you'll enjoy this show, but you probably would have seen even more of that in past tours." But I wouldn't have missed this one-man tour for the world. I wish I could have seen more stops on the tour, but do I want more tours like this one? No. If I had to choose between him doing this type of tour again and not touring solo at all, would I want him to tour this way? Sure. Anyway, it seemed like the venues that Lindsey played at in the past never worked out for Louie before, so I'm just really excited that he's going. There are certain people who have been around the board a long time and I just like to read their opinions on things, in general -- though not his opinion on Angel. Very happy Austin worked out. Michele In a way, this |
I am fully supportive of what erwk05, Lindsfan, and Elle all said below and they said it all for me so nothing to add on top of all that except -
This one man show is getting better all the time, Linds is now super confident with it and got perfectly in his stride and appears supremely comfortable up there on stage on his own. In fact it's obvious that he's having an absolute blast! :D From seeing 4 shows during the first leg in California, to seeing the last 3 shows over the East Coast - well there was just no comparison! The Cali shows were fab, no doubt about it, but those last 3 shows I saw were PHENOMINAL! Go Lindsey!!!! Can't wait for the next leg - you and your show are just perfect! :blob1: |
Lindsey has exuberant fans. I hope he himself doesn't think his show is perfect, not until he lengthens it and adds songs better tailored to the one man structure. He can perform without a band, but I wouldn't be content to have him keep doing it exactly the same as he is now.
If he added 20-30 minutes and let go of those songs that suffer from lack of a band, no matter how iconic they are, I'd consider it a great improvement. I hope he believes there is room to evolve. A satisfied mind is not one that got him to where he is in my estimation. Michele |
Quote:
he needs to add the request section at the end of the show! and he needs to add that starting this leg - now!!:cool: i would HATE it if he let go Come and ISA - which are really other than GYOW and Stephanie the only songs that have a backing track. and i'm sure he won''t let them go - he has seen audience reaction to Come and ISA on this tour! if there's no standing Os before in the set, Come is always a surefire thing to elicit one!! i really think every single song in his current 2012 setlist works perfectly where it is... and NGBA was the only song that was somewhat unimpressive to me this time around (i didn't really like the whole acoustic section other than SUD during 2011 SWS tour). he just needs to add more. RAB should always be there (with the outro!). he said to Lindsfan in response to her question during M&G that there's lot of room to evolve and add to this solo alone thing "now that i know it's working" - although it was not clear whether that would be during this tour or if he ever does solo/alone tour again. i really hope it's during this tour.:) |

Lindsey Buckingham at Antone’s! Posted on July 9, 2012 by Do512 Lindsey Buckingham. Buckingham then You guys know who were talking about here, right? The guy from Fleetwood Mac who MADE Rumours and Tusk so amazing? In 1998 he made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with the rest of Fleetwood Mac, and now he’s coming to Austin to play an intimate show at Antone’s August 22. Tickets for this show are already getting pretty limited, so hurry up and get one. Also, like our event page for a chance to win a free pair! Buckingham has been a musical legend since the ’70s and has been making solo music since 1981. What’s different about his music now is that he’s free from the “big-record-company” stuff. After thirty years, the dude decided that Warner Bros. wasn’t who he wanted to make music for anymore, so he broke-up with them and put out he’s newest album, Seeds We Sow, on his own. Lindsey Buckingham is now an independent artist — kinda crazy, huh? Buckingham now Last week Buckingham played two-nights in a row to sold-out audiences at B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in Manhattan. The raving reviews revealed that not only did he play his solo stuff, but he mixed in some of the music Fleetwood Mac became iconic for. One reviewer even said that the audience melted into his performance because it was not only rich in entertainment, but truly a wonderful experience. “But as a perfect cherry on top to a perfect evening of classic rock n’ roll, Buckingham surprised many in attendance by bursting into the Fleetwood Mac super-hit, “Go Your Own Way.” The song was an instant face melter for the audience. We sang it word for word, while looking on in awe to an artist who gave us everything we wanted and then some.” All-in-all the man is still, and will forever be, a genius when it comes to playing and making music. A performer is a performer, but a legend is just unpredictable in their capabilities. |
That DO512 article is so much better than this one (I almost wrote to her to tell her that LB does NOT perform any songs penned by the ladies of FM). Louie, it's gonna be a great show and I can't wait to finally meet you! The first time I saw LB solo was on the OOTC tour at the Backroom, which is now Emo's East. :-)
http://austin.culturemap.com/newsdet...ow-at-antones/ No Rumours here: Lindsey Buckingham to play intimate show at Antone's By Arden Ward 07.04.12 | 05:00 pm Earlier this summer, we celebrated the 35th anniversary of one of rock n' roll's most iconic albums: Rumours. On the heels of this milestone, Fleetwood Mac front man Lindsey Buckingham is celebrating his own legacy with a cross-country tour that just got a second wind. Announced last week, the tour — An Intimate Night with Lindsey Buckingham — has been extended by six weeks, and Austin is lucky enough to be added to the list. The tour is definitely a monumental addition to any music lover's ticket stub collection. Because on Wednesday, August 22, Buckingham won't take stage at the Erwin Center or any other large-scale chameleon venue. He'll settle into Austin's home of the blues, Antone's, for an intimate night of guitar picking and tunes. Not surprisingly, Buckingham's Austin gig is selling fast, but there are still some tickets available. For around $50.00, you can buy a golden ticket for a night that "Dreams" are made of: a night with a legend in one of Austin's legendary music homes. The tour promises to run the gamut of Buckingham's decades-long career, from his latest solo album, Seeds We Sow, all the way back to the Fleetwood Mac anthems that made them music gods. One can hope for a reprise of "Rhiannon" and "You Make Loving Fun." So while you scurry to secure tickets to this one-night-only affair, we'll leave you with a favorite from Rumours. Because who doesn't love mid-week throwback to pure, unadulterated '70s rock? |
Livia!
Have fun on this one! you know that I'd give a leg to stand next to you in Austin during this show, but I won't. I hope you're doing fine...
|
Gerald!
I will gladly put both hands on my head and drop my jaw in awe of LB's geniusness in your honor. :p

Dallas News
http://popcultureblog.dallasnews.com...le-smile.html/ My top 10 August concerts: Lindsey Buckingham, Linkin Park, Chris Isaak, Kiss and even a little Smile Smile By Mario Tarradell / Music Critic [email protected], July 31, 2012 1. Lindsey Buckingham: His guitar work – superb. His songs – creative, classic. Whether Buckingham is in Fleetwood Mac mode, or offering solo gems such as tunes from 2011′s wonderful Seeds We Sow, this should be a primo concert experience. Aug. 23 at 8:30 p.m. at the McKinney Performing Arts Center in McKinney. $45-$55. mckinneytexas.org/mpacdefault.aspx. 2. Linkin Park, Incubus: Rock, of the alt, moody, aggressive and melodic kind, shall fill the venue when these two bands take the stage. Linkin Park is touring behind its new CD, Living Things. Incubus’ last studio album was 2011′s If Not Now, When? Aug. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Gexa Energy Pavilion, Dallas. $44.37-$120.76. Live Nation. 3. Crosby, Stills & Nash: Assuming the voices hold up, and they should, the harmonies will be sublime from this pioneering trio. David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash were instrumental in the Southern California folk-rock movement of the late ’60s. They have an arsenal of timeless songs to perform. I’m looking forward to this one. Aug. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Verizon Theatre, Grand Prairie. $10-$99.50. axs.com. 4. Jason Mraz: For me, Mraz’s music connotes summer. Imbued with light melodies, brimming with a communal lyrical vibe, lilting with friendly rhythms. Yup, summer. He’s touring behind the new Love Is a Four Letter Word disc, but surely he’ll be performing 2008′s huge single “I’m Yours.” Singer-songwriter Christina Perri opens the gig. Aug.11 at 7:30 p.m. at Gexa Energy Pavilion, Dallas. $30.58-$75.09. Ticketmaster. 5. Iron Maiden: English heavy metal, with mascot “Eddie” in tow, naturally, from the influential band still fronted by lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson. We’re talking more than 30 years of rocking studio and live concert recordings. The most recent studio effort being 2010′s The Final Frontier. Aug. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Gexa Energy Pavilion, Dallas. $34.75-$107.64. Live Nation. Mraz's music defines summer for me. (AP Photo/Wong Maye-E) 6. Chris Isaak: So I’ve never seen Chris Isaak in concert. Yeah, even I can’t believe that. So here’s my chance. “Wicked Game” aside, although I do love that song, Isaak is a smoldering singer-songwriter with a penchant for vintage rock ‘n’ roll, as on his 2011 tribute to Sun Records, Beyond the Sun. Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. at Verizon Theatre, Grand Prairie. $49.50-$69.50. axs.com. 7. Journey: Forget Glee, I go back much further with Journey. Yes, I remember 1978′s Infinity album with “Wheel In the Sky” and “Lights.” I was 13 years old then. Sigh. Anyway, I’ve seen Journey in concert before, and it’s time to do it again. With Pat Benatar and Loverboy as opening acts, it’ll be a blast. Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. at Gexa Energy Pavilion, Dallas. $34.75-$163.74. Live Nation. 8. Kiss, Mötley Crüe: Pop-rock cranked up loud, super hero-like costumes and kabuki-style make-up, tattoos, blazing glam metal and plenty of testosterone. That’s Kiss and Mötley Crüe. Yes, I’m anticipating the diehard fans to come dressed as the demon or the star child, or even Space Ace. What a hoot! Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. at Gexa Energy Pavilion, Dallas. $51.70-$187.31. Live Nation. 9. Smile Smile: Dallas’ Jencey Hirunrusme and Ryan Hamilton turned the turmoil of being fiances, then breaking up, but continuing as an artistic duo into lovely, profound and refreshing folk-pop music. Just listen to the upcoming Marry a Stranger, to be released Aug. 14, or even 2010′s heartbreaking Truth on Tape, the chronicle of their shattered personal relationship. Magical stuff. Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. at Granada Theater, Dallas. $16. granadatheater.com. 10. Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias: A little Latin, a lot of pop, dashes of hip-hop and loads of club beats pretty much define anything by Lopez and Iglesias. The two bilingual singers are touring together, with help from reggaeton pair Wisin y Yandel as special guests, in what should be a big, glitzy show. Aug. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at American Airlines Center, Dallas.$40.06-$215.04. Ticketmaster. |
Austin people: Anyone interested in dinner and/or drinks before the show? That is, if you don't intend to wait in line for a couple hours before the doors open?
|
Bummer. I messed up and didn't get tix in time - and Austin is sold out.
If anyone comes across any tix, please let me know! Much appreciation in advance! billjerramATgmail.com GRACIAS! |
Houston Press
http://blogs.houstonpress.com/rocks/...e_marcus_m.php The 5 Best Shows In Houston This Week: Lindsey Buckingham, Etc. By Chris GrayMon., Aug. 20 2012 at 5:00 AM As far as Fleetwood Mac goes, Lindsey Buckingham's wicked guitar-shredding skills have always run a distant third behind the ****ed-up partner-swapping relationship drama that birthed classic albums like Rumours (great though it is), and then the bizarre cult of Stevie Nicks in general. For once, all that other stuff will get pushed aside when Buckingham makes a rare intimate solo stop tonight at Fitzgerald's. Expect stuff from his recent album Seeds We Sow (2011), as well as better-known solo songs like "Go Insane" and "Trouble," and the odd Mac deep cut. |

Bill, you should go down there anyway - you never know, they might release more tickets at the last minute, and I'm sure people will be selling them outside. Have you tried craigslist or StubHub? |
