More dates???

I know this is a subject that has been touched upon, but didn't Lindsey's website state, "and the rest of the country need not worry either, there are more dates in the works..."

Wasn't this back in April, when the East coast dates were announced? Come on, Lindsey! We need some SouthEast dates!!! No FL, GA, NC, TN??? We are fans as well!!!

Be patient - there is a summer break before new legs, hence the wait for new dates! :)

Will it be a continuation of this tour though? Or will he regroup the small machine band?

Just "the machine seems to be getting smaller" tour.

Yes, I am trying, but I have waited 15 years or so to see Lindsey Solo/Acoustic!!! Luckily, I caught his other shows, which were incredible! However, it would be nice to see him SOLO!!! Also, tentative meet & greets??? I am jealous!!!

it's really nice to hear that people want to see him so bad. but you know i read these demanding posts and can't help but thinking - if it's that important to you, you could have found the way already to see some of the shows on this tour. tix to most of his shows are cheap, and so is greyhound. and there are other ways.

i'll reiterate what others have said - we have heard repeatedly that at least one and probably two more legs of this tour are in the works. so be patient. dates for the 2nd leg were announced really fast after they were worked out, let's hope it will be the same for any subsequent legs (and i hope there really will be more legs of this tour!).

Not possible for me. This economy sucks and I needed a new roof more than I could afford to buy concert tickets, gas, a hotel room, and take time off from work. So...earlier announcements sure would help working people plan and save up...

The man finally played a Providence date. Anything can happen. What city or cities would you like to see Lindsey play anyway?

I would love to see a show in Toronto or Montreal or even Ottawa. I am going to see him in Ithaca NY but would go to a show in Canada if it was in Ontario or Quebec.

OMG - if there's a chance I'd be there! I love Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Niagara.

I would choose all those first if he's going up into Canada.

Do we think there's a real possibility?

been to Toronto and Niagara multiple times, and somehow not that keen on Otawa. but i'd love to have a reason to go visit Montreal.:)

idk, he went to Vancouver last time around... and i'm pretty sure he played Toronto before. Matt would know.

So if he did, I'm assuming these would be tagged onto Illinois/Michigan/etc shows?

I understand, but this economy is killing little "extras" that some of us may be able to endure.

As for cities I would like to see him in:

Asheville, NC
Knoxville, TN
Atlanta, GA

I would be shocked if he didn't hit at least one of these. Like Viv said, it's summer vacation. He probably wants to spend a little time with the family before hitting the road again. I have a friend in Tenn. that is also very much wanting to see him this summer, so I really do hope you both get your wishes

so, what do you think of Montreal?

redtulip 06-06-2012 09:22 AM

Unfortunately it just wasn't in the cards for me to see any of the east or west coast shows. I am in Minnesota, so they were all too cost/time prohibitive. Yes the bus may be cheap, but my time is not. While I would have loved to fly/drive to see a few shows, I just can't afford the time away from work or my family.

I would love to see Lindsey in Minneapolis/St. Paul since that is the largest city closest to me, but I may be able to manage some additional shows if they are within a few hours driving distance. Cities in Iowa, North Dakota or Wisconsin basically. I know it would never happen, but a show in Duluth would be excellent. Also, my husband is unfortunately not a Lindsey fan, but he wants to go to Vegas so bad that if there is a show there I may be able to make it work if we can find the money and a babysitter for a few days.

Demanding? Hardly..

First of all, for a couple of months now, his site has been saying more dates are coming soon. Any sort of update would be nice.

Plus, some people can't travel just to see a show, it doesn't mean it's not important to them :(
I normally would find a way, I've traveled all across the US to see Lindsey and FM solo.
But I'm about to be laid off, just had surgery, etc etc . My point is, some people have limitations on traveling to shows.
Some of us can't justify taking time off work or spending the extra $ to travel, even if it is by bus. You should be grateful for the shows you've gone to and stop judging others for wanting more information about tour dates.

Just like some others have said, money issues can make travel very prohibitive. Also, not every town has a nearby place that has a Greyhound Station. The nearest one to me is almost 50 miles away!

wow - i guess i deserve to be preached back... i did not mean to generalize and sorry if anybody took it that way:sorry:... of course everybody has restrictions and priorities. i do realize i am extremely lucky and that sometimes it can be almost impossible to make things happen, especially if you have health issues.

what i reacted to was Ryan's original post which ended with "mad" emoticon: "We need some SouthEast dates!!! No FL, GA, NC, TN??? We are fans as well!!!"

i guess i just met too many people without real issues who are waiting for things to be served to them on the silver platter and assuming that nobody needs to sacrifice for what they get. not necessarily anybody here.

that's great - to quote what you said so nicely "you should feel grateful for the shows you've gone to." and yes, i am extremely grateful that LB is doing these shows. and that i am lucky enough to be healthy, have supportive friends and family, and could make things happen.

believe me, i know how it is to live with no money and there is almost always something you don't have - money, or time, or health. majority of life i was living way below any poverty line... but i do realize not everybody would do the stuff that i've done - hitchhiking, sleeping at the railroad stations and beaches, barely eating... we all have our priorities and how far we are willing to go.

Thank you for being understanding. Believe me, it frustrates me to no end to not be able to travel freely to see Lindsey. I would definitely love to!

I just want to say that I also feel very lucky that I have been to two FM concerts (The Dance and SYW tours) and that I was able to see Lindsey solo last October (where I had a front row seat!)

I guess if I didn't have a family (husband, son, stepsons), I would be more likely to take bigger risks like the ones you have. As it is, last year I spent almost $1000 between tickets/transportation/lodging to go to the Atlanta concert. This year, I could have likely arranged to go if he had come to Atlanta in July, but it doesn't look like that will happen.

I'm glad that you have the means to travel to see Lindsey and that I have been able to in the past. That's not the issue.
Wanting Lindsey to release more dates is the reason for this thread and I think everyone reading it wants more dates to be released.
But implying that we can or should re-asses our priorities if we really want to see him is still insulting. It doesn't make us any less of a fan because we don't have the means to travel and asking for dates to be released when we've be told they were coming is not unreasonable. Sorry :(

Elle wasn't being in the least bit rude - it's true that if you want something badly enough you have to make it happen. And I know all about struggling to keep coming all the way to the USA to make it happen for me - by hook or by crook. People have different priorities is all.

It's alright for some, lol. I couldn't afford to be so bold as to do all that unless I won the lottery, really. As of today I have £23 to my name. Yay for being a student. -_-. Lindsey coming to England really is my only lifeline as far as seeing him solo is concerned.

Ah but there you have it! It's also about choices - you choose to be a penniless student and being a student is your priority.

And I hope you take that in the tongue-in-cheek way it's meant - you know my caustic humour well enough by now ;);):xoxo:
