Come to the South, Lindsey!!! We've always loved you here! ;) :xoxo:

elle 04-12-2012 10:03 PM

seems no more meet & greets

the only meet and greets announced so far:
  • Northampton (not available anymore - already sold out during presale?)
  • Providence
  • Ithaca

since the rest of the east coast dates have been announced today, and some of the venues already display pricing and details i'm guessing we've seen all that we'll see of M&G...

sorry if i got anybody's hopes up. :sorry:

EDIT: Delaware date that went on sale today has a M&G VIP package - includes front row. So now these are places with VIP packages:
  • Northampton, MA - $125 (not available anymore - already sold out during presale?)
  • Providence, RI - $100 (sold out in 2 mins)
  • Ithaca, NY - $100 (still available, but just balcony seats)
  • Wilmington, DE - $140 - available

Speaking of these $paid$ for meet and greets,
anyone seen video of these occurrences? I've
seen stills, but no video.

Eugene 04-13-2012 02:48 PM

M & G price @ World Cafe Live in Wilmington DE is $140 & on sale...gets you a seat in the front row.

did LB ever do paid M&G/1st row VIP packages prior to this tour (except announced but canceled UK/Ire dates)?

the unannounced M&G he did in NYC last year was free.....

if you reach back in your memory
a little bell might ring
about a time that once existed
when money wasn't king
if you stretch you imagination
I'll tell you all a tale
about a time when everything
wasn't up for sale

there was this cat named Lindsey
who loved to play and sing
when money wasn't king

we'd all get so excited when
Lindsey would give a show
we'd raise the cash between us
and down the road we'd go
to hear him play that music
it spoke right to my soul
every verse a diamond
every chorus gold
the sound was my salvation
it was only everything
before money wasn't king

well I ain't sure how it happened
and I don't know exactly when
but everything got bigger
and the rules began to bend
and they raised the cost of living
and how could we have known
they'd double the price of tickets
to go and see Lindsey's show

they sat in golden circles
and waiters served them wine
and talked through the music
and paid to Lindsey, paid little mind
and way up in the nosebleeds
we watched him on the screen
they'd hung between the billboards
so cheaper seats could see

Lindsey rocked that golden circle
and all those vip's
and that music that had freed us
became a tired routine
and I saw his face in close-up
trying to give it all he had
and sometimes his eyes betrayed him
you could see that he was sad

there was no use in pretending
no magic left to hear
all the music gave me
was a craving for light beer
as I walked out of the arena
my ears began to ring
and the money became king

hmm... i don't know, $30 - $60 for a ticket doesn't seem exorbitantly expensive. many other shows i see in similar-size venues are about the same price.

and VIP M&G tickets for his shows are ~ $100. golden circle tickets if there is a golden circle are $50-60. and there are no nosebleeds in those little intimate venues he plays - in fact there is no bad seat in the house - and no jumbo screens.

Does anyone know how easy it would be to get meet and greet tickets online? Say if I tried to order them promptly at 10:00 is it actually possible to purchase them without personally standing in line or paying 300$ when someone puts them up for sale on stubhub?

seems to be really different from venue to venue. Northampton and Providence VIP tickets sold out within minutes (but Providence had only 12 tickets supposedly; other 3 venues had 20). Ithaca and Wilmington are still available.

Hmmm. Thanks! Right now our plan is to go to the one in Columbus and if that doesn't work out then we'll try Munhall, PA. AND IF THAT DOESN'T WORK OUT.... I guess we will have to resort to overpriced tickets from stubhub. There's no way I'm passing up a LB meet and greet.

BigAl84 04-18-2012 09:13 AM

Just an FYI for columbus meet and greets - I had no luck with ticket master but was able to score 2 VIP meet and greets in the second row by calling the box office at the theatre, not the ticketbastard number.

GoldDustGypsy 04-18-2012 09:26 AM

How are the rows numbered at the Southern theater? I'm in Pit L row AA and I have no clue how far back I am.

BUT I DID GET VIP TICKETS WHOOHOWHOWHWOH. So I'm really not that worried about being a few rows back.

sushud82 04-18-2012 11:43 AM

So if you get VIP tix for CBus then that's good for a M&G?

BigAl84 04-18-2012 11:48 AM

does anyone know how these meet and greets are going to work? I meant to ask the lady at the phone. Curious if it will be backstage or on stage etc. This sounds so cheesy, but i'm secretly hoping we get some sort of laminate pass etc. That would be awesome.

sushud82 04-18-2012 11:57 AM

Okay...so I bought a VIP ticket on the right side, seat 2, row AA.

I'm curious to know what the deets are also!

sushud82 04-18-2012 01:02 PM

Got this in my inbox from the Wexner Center (in Columbus):

"Join us when Lindsey Buckingham (of Fleetwood Mac fame) performs a solo concert in the intimate and acoustically superior Southern Theatre. Buckingham will draw upon songs from his series of sparkling solo albums that demonstrate his unique talents of constructing intricate pop architecture that rivals the mastery of fellow Californian genius Brian Wilson with impassioned vocals, stunningly filigreed guitar work and direct, poetic lyrics that pull the listener in close.

There are a limited number of VIP Meet and Greet tickets available for fans who would like to meet Lindsey after the concert and get photos or autographs to make this special night even more memorable.

Please note: there is no opening act for this concert, show begins promptly @ 8 PM."

yes - Columbus is the only venue that i can remember actually specifying in their ad that M&G will be after the show. some of them said that they are still working out the details - such as whether it will be before or after etc.

i know UK/Ire M&Gs came with laminates, but they also included soundcheck and were >$500. i might be wrong, but don't know that one can expect stuff like laminates for a mere $100 that includes not just a M&G but a front row center ticket.

Wish we would get a few more available for Providence. The prices for the meet and greet were a steal. You would have to pay $1200.00 for Fleetwood Mac packages and that was just to meet Mick.

GoldDustGypsy 04-18-2012 06:37 PM

I wonder how these meet and greets will go. Like is it going to be stand in line for a picture and a nice smile.....or is it more of a actually meet and get to have a nice few minutes of his time.

Only time will tell I guess. Either way I'll probably not be able to get a word out of my mouth, let's just hope my legs cooperate and I'm able to actually walk up to him.

last november at that unexpected CD singing / M&G after his 92Y Q&A we were all asked to stand in line and have something for him to sign. some people had pieces of paper, tickets to the event, others brought his CDs or DVDs, or you could buy SWS or some of his other CDs before going to the signing line. he was sitting at the table with bunch of black and silver sharpies. i would not expect any tables at these M&Gs in june, but i might be wrong.

we each got about a minute or so of one-on-one time to talk to him. some people said a lot, others were tongue-tied. he warmly interacted with each person and acted genuinely interested in what they had to say. in some instances he initiated the conversation, like when he saw Mimi coming towards him in her "get tusked Lindsey" t-shirt. he signed whatever people brought for him to sign, and if people asked him to personalize the signature, he did. we were told no pictures at that event, but then again it was free and not announced upfront as a M&G, plus there were probably 100+ people in that CD-signing line. plus from what i heard later, some people actually went twice.

so, my speculation would be that at this year's M&Gs you can get a picture with him if you ask (as it says on that Columbus M&G ad), he would sign something for you if you want, and he'd chat with you for a minute or so, responding to whatever you have to say.

I'm so incredibly upset with myself that I didn't know about these until they were sold out! :(

If anyone is selling any of theirs, let me know... I'll have to keep my eye on eBay!

BigAl84 04-25-2012 09:15 AM

got my VIP fix for columbus the other day, no laminate pass or anything like that was included. The ticket just says VIP. As cheesy as those passes are, It would of been fun to have had one! oh well. life goes on.
