Tusk: Favorite Non-Hits - Christine/Stevie

Here's the first poll for Christine and Stevie' songs, removing "Sara" and "Think About Me". The top songs compete against Lindsey's top songs next week.

Vote for 3 songs as your favorite Christine/Stevie non-hits from Tusk.

Poll closes in 5 days. Lets have some fun Ledgies!

bluefox4000 03-05-2012 11:32 PM

Storms
Sisters of the Moon
Beautiful Child

Chris does not cut it on this album.

Mick

On Ice 03-06-2012 08:37 AM

I disagree with ya there Mick, Over and Over to me, is Christine's best song. Honey Hi I also find a cute little track. Sisters of the Moon is my favourite Stevie song on Tusk. Again, a hard poll because Fleetwood Mac to me, doesn't get much better than this quirky, delicious, sprawling masterpiece. All three writers knock it out of the park.

Sleepless-Child 03-06-2012 08:44 AM

I don't think it's very fair to put Stevie's and Christine's songs in the same poll, poor Christine doesn't have a chance here...
I'm voting for Honey Hi, Brown Eyes and Beautiful Child (though i love Angel too but it's just so much better live that i'm gonna save my vote Beautiful Child, which is just perfection).

caroline79 03-06-2012 10:07 AM

Wow this was hard. I chose Beautiful Child, Storms and Honey Hi.

Honey Hi is the only Chris song really like on that album expect for maybe Brown Eyes. I would have picked Angel if I could have one more and even though I love Sisters of the Moon I love the piano demo much more.

McTrouble 03-06-2012 11:08 AM

Storms
Sisters Of The Moon
Angel

:)

I did debate with myself about combining Christine and Stevie's together. Also I'm trying not to have too many polls cause towards the end of my contest, I've noticed people get a little "polled-out" if you will.

Plus I allowed 3 choices, hoping Christine would get at least 1 of em! We could move her top song along in the contest.

Besides I think Christine will do very well with Mirage and especially Tango in the Night and Behind the Mask.

Blueletter18 03-06-2012 01:42 PM

I went with Sisters of the Moon, Storms, and Angel, although I was seriously considering Beautiful Child because, as previously mentioned, Angel is just killer live, and the album version doesn't do the song justice at all. I wish the backing vocals had been more prominent, as well as the guitar, and a slightly faster tempo would have been nice.

Silver Springs 03-06-2012 01:53 PM

I only voted for two because there were only two I liked. Storms and Beautiful Child.

Artemis 03-06-2012 02:19 PM

Beautiful Child (Stevie's early voice at its peak)
Storms
Brown Eyes

GypsySorcerer 03-06-2012 03:15 PM

"Storms" and "Brown Eyes" were easy choices, as I've always loved both. "Sisters" and "Angel" are better live. As much as I adore "Over and Over" (would have been my fourth choice), I went with "Beautiful Child," which seems to resonate more and more with me as I age.

I love Sisters live so much better. Angel for some reason I like the crispness of the studio. I like your choices tho..

louielouie2000 03-06-2012 07:46 PM

All of these are my fav songs from Tusk... but I had to whittle it down to Storms, Beautiful Child, and Brown Eyes. To me, these three songs represent some of the best Stevie & Christine ever brought to the Mac table. I think some of Stevie's most gorgeous vocals of her career are on Beautiful Child. I think Storms probably has the best lyrics of her entire career. And I think Brown Eyes is probably one of the most perfect (in every possible way) song the Mac ever recorded.

vivfox 03-06-2012 08:11 PM

How dare you make me choose 3 songs in these fabulous selections.

I thought you disliked Angel?

On Ice 03-06-2012 08:47 PM

Excuse me Vivfox but disliking Angel is not allowed...:)

I detest Angel. It's the only exception.

On Ice 03-06-2012 09:25 PM

But at the very least Louie, you must admit that her voice is pretty awesome throughout the track. The test of a good song is if it can get you excited. Angel still does that for me.

I love Angel. And I love you.:xoxo:

elle 03-06-2012 09:41 PM

love all stevie's songs on Tusk (except Sara which bores me to no end, but is not competing here), and the only christine song that i love on Tusk is Think About Me which is not competing.

SOTM is definitely one of the favorites. love Angel too. so it was between BC and Storms as the third song, both are beautiful. but however great Storms sounded during Unleashed, BC is the better sounding one of the CD... and it sounded great live during SYW.

so SOTM, Angel and Beautiful Child for me.

I'm waiting for you behind the shed.

MacShadowsBall 03-07-2012 01:07 PM

Christine's taking a beating here, but all of Stevie's are so good, though.

Sisters of the Moon and Angel are definitely getting my vote. Just not sure about my third one.

WildHearted 03-07-2012 01:29 PM

I should read the rules.. I only voted for one.. man.

bangdrum 03-07-2012 02:40 PM

Voted a while ago but putting down my votes for the record.

First is Angel. My favorite Stevie song on the record, one of my favorites overall.

I could totally live without the rest of Stevie's songs (SOTM is a little better).

It took me a while to get into Chris' songs, but I chose Over & Over and Brown Eyes for my other two votes.

KarmaContestant 03-07-2012 03:47 PM

Over and Over
Honey Hi
Sisters of the Moon

WildHearted 03-08-2012 02:41 PM

I only voted once (like I said above)

But if I had actually read the rules, I would have gone with: Storms, Beautiful Child, and Sisters of the Moon.

I like Angel, but I like SOTM better.

I can't get into Chris' Tusk stuff really - I like Think About Me, but it's not on here sooo.

MacShadowsBall 03-09-2012 11:26 PM

My first two votes were easy, Sisters of the Moon and Angel. The third was tricky. I felt like I should vote for at least one Christine song, so it was down to Over and Over and Beautiful Child.

I went with Over and Over.

MacShadowsBall 03-10-2012 11:37 AM

My goodness Stevie is butchering Christine to death! Do you think at least one Christine song should move on to the finals?

No, just let the cards fall where they may. Lots of people think CM is weak on Tusk, LB is weak on Mirage, and SN is weak on Tango, so this won't be the last time the votes are one-sided. At one point we considered separating the polls by songwriter, but we decided against it, so let's go with what we have. Just my opinion, of course. :wavey:

PolishStevieFan 03-10-2012 12:57 PM

"Storms" has always been my favourite :) And the second best is "Beautiful Child"- which some time ago inspired me to write tons of ready-to-bin poems :) The thrid best is "Angel" which possesses nice melody. I didn't vote for Christine's songs because I've never paid much attention to her stuff yet I must say that on "Tusk" she stepped up with her music. "Over and Over" for exapmle is great opener and "Honey Hi" is just pure and simple Pop at its best. But as I said before for me Stevie always rules in FM :)

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I don't think Christine would win anyway. Plus, I like to be consistent throughout the whole contest and I haven't been narrowing it down to vocalists before so why start now.

Good point about Lindsey's Mirage and Stevie's Tango songs, too.

MacShadowsBall 03-11-2012 03:44 PM

Storms, Sisters of the Moon, and Beautiful Child move on to the Tusk finals.
