Personal REFLECTION Poll - Vote Now!!
At long last, the REFLECTION poll!! This was really hard to narrow down. I know I said I was going to include Without a Leg to Stand On, but as it's already moved on to the next round, via another poll, I decided to let another song take it's place.
Remember, these are songs about personal reflection - career oriented reflection ( e.g., Underground, Bel Air rain ) will be a different poll. So, have at it! :) |
I love these polls! Lindsfan, your song choices here are wonderful...give me some time. :wavey:
|
Shadow of the West...not Shadows. :distress: Poor Lindsay. It's always something...
|
Don't worry about that error, Lindsfan. Did you see that I forgot to click the part where we could see who votes on my poll? Oh well. Human error.

Woo-hoo!!! :woohoo: |
Can't Go Back or Walk a Thin Line would have been possible too, even End Of Time, but I voted for his careerspanning stagemonster. What else?
|
so my top would have to be GI, ISA, RPTF and WATL... and WATL wins, closely followed by ISA. please lindsey consider doing acoustic version of WATL in some future live shows!! |
I felt like giving Right Place to Fade some love, but I went with Go Insane.

I think cast away dreams is relli floaty and so beautiful, so much emotion you just wanna hug lindsey lol

•Can't Go Back - does nothing for me.
•Cast Away Dreams - LOVE it...especially acoustic version recorded at his home •End of Time - LOVE the lyrics, music so-so although catchy; first time i heard it at Saban and kept thinking of REM ( couldn't say it any better than Elle! ) •Family Man - It's OK, but that's about it. •Flying Down Juniper - I LOVE this song. The guitar is really cool, and I like the overall nostalgic vibe. I know it has a lot of haters, but I think it's a great song! •Go Insane - Love - no, LOVE! - both versions! Soooo emotional. The acoustic version, live in concert, it is just scary good...he really seems to get lost in it. •I'm So Afraid - LOVE this. Live, it's in a class all it's own. No matter how many times I hear it, the solo always blows me away! I was lucky enough to be at his feet ( holding his boot ) when he played this, which makes it even more special. •The Right Place To Fade - Very top of the list of songs he hasn't played in concert, that I would love for him to do. This song is so cool. The lyrics, the music...LOVE everything about it!! •Shadow of the West - Still not a fan of much from L&O. This song is just OK. One of the better ones from that album, I guess...but that doesn't mean a lot. •Walk a Thin Line - Try as I might, I can't get into this. I like it in the context of the whole album ( i.e., I don't skip it ), but by itself, it does nothing for me. I still have no idea which I'm voting for...I currently have it narrowed down to 5 choices :distress: I wish I was better at making up my mind. |
A great selection of songs just hard to choose its a shame tht you can only vote once

Went with "Right Place to Fade," a song that grabbed me at first listen. Second would be "Walk a Thin Line."
Although I don't care that much for "Flying Down Juniper," I will say that I appreciate his sentiment and the song is thematically a perfect end for the UTS album. |

seems like Go Insane is pulling ahead, with I'm Not Afraid not that far behind. |
I voted!!! I voted!!
I know y'all were waiting for me of course.
Anyways, my vote went to "End Of Time" because I personally am awed by the reflection LB is making with this song. It's so real and it applies to anyone- but for him to sing "give us back our youth." And that last verse? I think the song is stunning and, although nothing adventurous (for him) musically, it's very catchy and has a classic sound that I think he should be promoting by turning it into a single or something. Such a perfect song. as for the others (this was a hard choice): •Can't Go Back - I feel like he has said the same thing in other songs more effectively (for me) •Cast Away Dreams - beautiful, stunning, VERY difficult not to choose this one •Family Man - No, no you can't be serious. •Flying Down Juniper - this song has such a beautiful tone but it really isn't one of my favorites. Still, don't hate it. •Go Insane - flawless perfection. I couldn't even look at it when I voted because this song is MIND-BLOWINGLY incredible and how could I not feel guilty? •I'm So Afraid - The most stunning song live. Something takes over me when hear this, and the message he is singing is also very universal but a touch less sentimental. •The Right Place To Fade - FAVORITE song on GOS and it truly is amazing, but I think more about how musically awesome it is then the lyrics. So that is why I had to choose EOT. •Shadow of the West - Meh. •Walk a Thin Line - tremendous song! I think it's soooooo beautiful and one of my favorite moments on Tusk. But still, I look at it more as a whole then the lyrics. |
I voted for "Go Insane" because I remember watching The Dance with my Mom years ago, & her saying to me, "Man... I think he wrote this during a really rough time.. he was going through something.." I just laughed. These were my Mother's interpretations/ feelings of the song and I think she said something about him being on acid as well. Whatever is true or not, I got a laugh out of it,. I just adore this song live though.
