Stevie Nicks coming to 'Up All Night'

Anybody knows more? I've never heard about this show...

^^Thanks for posting!

Wow, this is the most surreally bizarre bit of news I've heard in a long, long time. This is absolutely brilliant! I am not familiar with this show, but I suspect that it is one of the better sitcoms out there at the moment. In fact, I have pretty much enjoyed anything starring Will Arnett, who has generally done projects that are left of center, namely Arrested Development. I just have to wonder how/why this has come up... now, of all times. Stevie has already insisted that she is a horrible actress, so why would she put herself through this? What is she trying to promote? Is Stevie going to become the rocker version of Betty White (who makes a cameo in just about everything on TV)? And if she gets to perform on top of everything else, why... I'll just spontaneously combust with joy. :p

See the Wiki link about the show http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Up_All_Night_(TV_series)
Stevie was referenced earlier this season in one of the shows. I think it was mentioned in a thread a couple of months back.

fairydust75 02-23-2012 05:13 PM

Not sure how well this would go over, huh? I'm a little shocked....But she's gotta promote the IYD doc. right? She was a little spacey o'n that Australian awards show back in Nov/Dec....Bet big bad Howard is behind this.. But I'm happy she's out and about. She looked so good at the Iovine Grammy party....

I enjoy Up All Night. Applegate and Arnett have some great one liners, as hipster parents.

i think the show is hilarious and i follow it via ondemand. the show totally hits all the right buttons for me --- i love christina applegate (who didn't love Married with Children, am i right or am i right?), a lot of my friends are now having kids, so i can sort of relate to all these new moms/former non-moms, and it didn't hurt that they also mentioned stevie at the tail end of the first episode, which totally and completely won me over.
i love that she's gonna guest star on it!

nevedix20 02-23-2012 05:23 PM

This is the best news I've heard all week. She is gonna rock it I'm sure.!!! Something to look forward to.. that and the docu.
The fact that she has never made a TV cameo before makes it all the more unique and special. For once she is going to be in a show rather then just being referenced.

gypsy4life 02-23-2012 05:24 PM

This is a great move! The show is funny and current.

Maybe the Rudolph and Arnett (married to Amy Pohler) hook up could lead to a Saturday Night Live performance!!

She did the Chris Isaak Show on Showtime 10 years ago. But obviously the exposure on NBC is orders of magnitude greater. I seriously hope this does not involve a story arc featuring yet another horrible Maya Rudolph impersonation (of Stevie). They have gotten her to impersonate Beyonce and Whitney Houston in the past... but she just ends up looking/sounding like, uh, Maya Rudolph.

michelej1 02-23-2012 05:37 PM

It was back in September on the show that Ava mentioned she had attended a barbecue at Stevie's house.

Stevie Nicks has signed up to appear on Up All Night.

The singer will guest star on an upcoming installment of the NBC series, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Nicks will play herself in an episode that sees Reagan (Christina Applegate) and Ava (Maya Rudolph) attempting to convince her to appear on Ava's talk show.

The singer, who is a member of Fleetwood Mac, recently urged the general public to do more to support military servicemen and women.

Drummer Mick Fleetwood has said that Fleetwood Mac will go on tour sometime this year.

Up All Night airs Thursdays at 9.30pm on NBC.

Wouldn't it be really cool if she ends up having such a good experience that she decides to become an actress? Stranger things have happened.

nevedix20 02-23-2012 07:41 PM

Just thought this was a Funny look back in reference to Up All Night ... She is pretty cute here, although you can tell she is totally out of it on K.

That's why she isn't performing as another character, she's just appearing only as herself. "Sometimes she was just an actress" Stevie is a character actress just being Stevie.

She also played herself in that movie from 1993 that no one seems to be able to find. The quote of yours, "Sometimes she was just an actress" was written about Sheryl Crow. You knew that, right?

Not to drift off here this video below with the same title on the USA Network from the 1980's with Rhonda Shear and Gilbert Gottfried. I used to watch all the time.

Christina Applegate's response to Stevie on her show:

"Stevie Nicks will be joining us soon for what I'm sure will be the highlight of my life, besides the birth of my daughter."
