Does anyone else find it hilarious...

that Waddy looks exactly the same in a video from 1981 or 83 as he does right now. I guess it helps to look 60 when your 30

Macfanforever 02-21-2012 12:50 AM

Yes he does look the same.maybe alittle grey .but he looks great.Stevie with 2 dozen different hairstyles over the years ,her face is the same too.

I agree & thought the same thing. Maybe he's a vampire! Lol!

cliffdweller 02-21-2012 04:21 PM

Ha-ha! Yep! He pretty much looks the same now as he did 30 years ago. He, like Stevie, doesn't change much in the style dept.

bombaysaffires 02-21-2012 08:16 PM

Maybe from a distance he looks sorta the same (that big mane of frizzy hair, same style of clothing etc) but honestly, up close, he looks like death warmed over.

I've met him.

he was about five six and as stevie described
him in timespace, very frail looking.

definitely like a vampire, twenty minutes
before a show. he was wearing a blue
cordoroy sport coat.

it was right outside the colliseum at caesars,
at that one off show they played for the
epicurean cancer benefit. December 8, 2006.

Hmm. You've met him. I know him. As I read through this thread I am reminded of some lines of Shakespeare in the Merchant of Venice:

I am a Jew. Hath not a Jew eyes? hath not a Jew hands, organs, dimensions, senses, affections, passions? fed with the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject to the same diseases, healed by the same means, warmed and cooled by the same winter and summer, as a Christian is? If you prick us, do we not bleed? if you tickle us, do we not laugh? if you poison us, do we not die? and if you wrong us, shall we not revenge? If we are like you in the rest, we will resemble you in that.

I assure you Waddy is very human, very kind and very caring--particularly about music, about Stevie and his family. He has a heart, he has a pulse and he is one of the most real of people you will ever meet.

rubylounge 02-24-2012 01:40 PM

We love him. Just kinda being funny about the vampire thing 'cause I thought he looked cool in the Moonlight video (with it's vampire theme)

awesome, you're the greatest.

I'm thinking, get a sign and grab a corner.

no one said anything negative about him, right?

bombaysaffires 02-25-2012 01:28 PM

when did anyone on here say that Waddy was unkind, not a nice person, or anything of the sort? Everyone's entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts.

We just have to find a picture of him from another century, ala Nicholas Cage.

Although, Nicholas Cage is definitely aging -- and fast. So, I'm almost positive he's not a vampire.

 I agree, I'm thinking not.

Macfanforever 02-25-2012 06:17 PM

I would' like to hang with him for a week.Tech talk about equipment and other stuff.

jdf 02-26-2012 01:53 PM

Waddy is a great talent - I agree with you all, seems Waddy is not getting older somehow, from a distance - but folks, I was a bit  recently about a Stevie Nicks shot with her tinted aviator glasses - some people have a faster aging whatever the reason is - all things must pass unfortunately :sorry:

BTW just wondering how Americans pronounce Wachtel? The name sounds German, maybe a Jewish name and Wachtel = quail, funny somehow:laugh:

Well, pronunciation might be different depending on the family. But Waddy gives the "ch" a "k" sound.

I agree with your observation that nothing "ill" was said about Waddy. Someone simply observed that he looks the same as he did 20 years ago. It's a compliment especially in today's society where we are driven by looks and youth.

Um... he said Waddy looked like a vampire. And I don't think he meant a Robert Pattinson-looking vampire. That's not nice. Sure, everyone has a right to voice his/her opinion, but don't pretend that nothing "ill" was said.

Looking at the evolution of posts, I actually think the vampire reference came up because Waddy has not aged.

When people say that Sharon looks like a vampire, I think they mean sallow, emaciated and corpse like, with hair that could easily be widow's peaky. But in this conversation, I don't think they meant that about Waddy.

Of course, there are probably few here who think Waddy is handsome, but -- well, until I just said that -- I don't think his looks were being insulted.

Without Waddy I have no idea what Stevie's band would sound like.

Without Waddy counting off right in front of her face, I have no idea how Stevie would know when to start singing EO17.

I said that "maybe he's a vampire" because he doesn't look much older than he did in the early 80's. I did not say that he looked like a vampire. Hey Brad Pitt played a vampire in Ann Rice's movie and I thought he was hot.
