poll: Christine-Lindsey co-written songs

love Christine - Lindsey collaborations, whether they were working on arrangements, singing, co-writing, or doing crazy Tusk versions together during Mirage tour.

and there's just something warm and fuzzy about their interactions (--> kiss at the end of The Dance :xoxo:). even if Christine did burn her bridges in the end :p:laugh: (i was so hoping she'd show up during one of the shows on Lindsey's UK solo tour...).

what is your favorite Christine / Lindsey co-written song?

Isn't It Midnight
Mystified
Ricky
World Turning
You And I, Part I
You And I, Part II

MacShadowsBall 02-18-2012 02:42 PM

Yeah!!! Songs I know!!

Two of my Fleetwood Mac favorites are here - World Turning and Isn't it Midnight.

As far as a Lindsey/Christine collabs go, World Turning gets my vote. I can't really think of Isn't it Midnight as a collab, at least vocally. Excellent guitar solo though!

Lindsfan 02-18-2012 03:27 PM

I hate making decisions. Hate it, hate it, hate it.

Mystified, Isn't It Midnight or You and I prt. 1. Or maybe World Turning  So there. I've narrowed it down to four  Yay me!!

Nico 02-18-2012 03:54 PM

These two are MAGIC together. Honestly, their voices are the definition of sublime.

I also think CM/LB have a very similar writing style. Well, if not they really mesh their styles perfectly to create very great pop songs.

michelej1 02-18-2012 06:47 PM

I like Mystified and Isn't It Midnight equally, but Midnight rocked live.

I alway hated the Everywhere arrangement for the Cage tour and think it would have sounded better if Lindsey had been there, but (except for lending his vocal) I really don't see how he could have improved on the live version of Isn't It Midnight. Sizzling. Hearing them do that almost made me forget about LB -- well . . . almost ;).

easy, World Turning, but I have a soft spot for the cheesy Ricky....

McTrouble 02-18-2012 07:46 PM

I love all these but voted for You and I Pt 1

It was a toughie because I also love You and I Pt 2 and World Turning.

yes, this was by far the easiest pick of any of the polls for me too.

although i do usually skip most of Mick's solo when listening to live versions ... but the rest of it is just soooo great!

and that DR doc rehearsal version when LB belts out the beginning - just wow! and LiB version... i could go on and on.

Isn't It Midnight. That song blisters:nod:

i'm looking at the votes so far in this poll, and am surprised that i don't see a vote from almost anybody who seems to be first and foremost Christine fan...

wonder what that means? that Christine fans don't ever look at this forum, or that none of these fall into their favorite Christine-penned songs?

They should acknowledge their lady! Come on CM fans!! :wavey:

You know there's some great stuff here.

henryscutter 02-20-2012 01:08 AM

Speaking of the different fans not migrating, I didn't see you or Nico weigh on or whether or not that was really Stevie and Lindsey in that picture in the Stevie forum.

What are your thoughts. Is that Lindsey in that photo? Do you recognize his hands or see any other clues for or against it being him?

Maybe you already commented on Facebook somewhere, but I'd like to know.

Oh and to add to my remarks in that thread, I'd like to say the hair doesn't seem like his to me. I have no opinion as to whether those are his hands or not, but the hair, the nose, the jawline . . . I vote no.

i have no idea whether it's them and whether it's both of them, Michele. [pic did appear in various LB groups on FB - that's i think where i saw it first - didn't opine on it there either!:D] if it is them, and depending on the time when the pic was taken it may layer some more info about their playing as a duo that at least i may have not been aware of previously.

rarely, but i do stray from time to time to other forums and post - when i stumble upon the info i think people might want to know or if they talk about LB . but i have to be careful not to post snarky remarks when in SN forum:D.

and - that thread should have probably been in Rumours forum, at least that's where i'd probably put it if i started it.

I did post it in the Rumours forum. Bee commented. Some may not have seen it though since I put it in the SnL Intimacy thread.... :D

By the way, I think it totally is LB and his hands sell me on it - that and it looks so much like Stevie and I can't imagine her gigging with some random guitar player... Plus, I believe the person's story who posted it on facebook about the wife's ex being friends with them in college and booking Fritz and that the photo was taken at a wedding they all attended.

wondergirl9847 02-20-2012 01:30 PM

Easiest one for me

Isn't It Midnight. That song is DELICIOUS! Christine's and Lindsey's sexy vocals and that solo that would make anyone weak in the knees....oh yes.

Generally speaking, Ledgies tend to be segregated into their groups, mainly based on the layout of The Ledge itself.

Personally, I check all the forums everyday for new posts and just to see what others are saying about their favorite members/songs/etc!

Perhaps some "cross-promoting" on some other forums could work?

No, no cross-promoting. I think it should be kept only in the most relevant forum.

Also, Marty had a good idea when he segregated the forums, I think, even though I've been on other boards where everything was discussed together (FM Legacy).

Perhaps a small mention from elle in the JTIS thread would suffice? And I can mention elle's contest on one of my threads in the Rumours forum.

I like the forums as they are - I just kinda wish Ledgies would 'shop' around a little.

...and that Fleetwood Mac related topics would be posted in their forums, versus the solo members forums, but that's a discussion for another day!
