What Radio played songs by FM could you hear endlessly and never get sick of?

Hypnotized
Say You Love Me

WildHearted 12-08-2011 08:54 PM

Gold Dust Woman
The Chain
Sara
Gypsy
Dreams (I think I'm in the minority with this one, probably)

And, I actually RARELY hear Landslide (any version) on the radio around here, so I'm not sick of that one radio-wise either.

bluefox4000 12-08-2011 09:19 PM

They played Go your Own Way in a casino when I was in Atlantic City a couple days ago. I know lots of folks are done with that tune. Not Me. Never ever. Remains my fav tune From Rumours era Mac.

Also

Gypsy
Sara
The chain

"Go Your Own Way."

Whenever it comes on the radio I act like I don't own it on several different collections and can hear it whenever I want. It's always a special treat to hear no matter how many times I've heard it. That's a testament to how awesome the song is.

aleuzzi 12-09-2011 12:15 PM

The Chain -- It always gives me chills and I'm somewhere between bliss and tears

Go Your Own Way -- I never fail to feel genuine excitement when I hear this. Those guitar solos, especially the second one, make me want to shout "Yes!"

Tusk -- I have yet to hear anything like this anywhere else. And any time it comes on I re-enter that strange world and find myself participating in the groove. And this is one of those rare FM songs where the live version is routinely more magical than the studio...

Say You Love Me -- This song is so irresistible, the melody, the amazing lead vocal, the fine guitar solo, that chunky piano, the harmonies...I can and have listened to it sometimes four or five times in a row. But it has to be the album version. None of the live versions measure up.

Little Lies -- Whereas the rest of Tango gets a bit stale for me after a few times of enthusiastic play throughs, this particular song is almost as iconic as Go Your Own Way. And listen to that bass line!

jbrownsjr 12-09-2011 03:00 PM

The radio is a bit different for me than my ipod. So when something comes on the radio, for some reason it sounds so much better to me. having said that...

You Make Love Fun
Dreams
Trouble
Hold Me
Go Your Own Way
Go Insane
Say You Love Me
The Chain
Big Love
Hypmotized
Come A Little Bit Closer
Spare me A Little
World Turning

LilyRose 12-09-2011 03:19 PM

Gyspy and Gold Dust Woman.

bangdrum 12-09-2011 04:36 PM

Mine has a touch of "they used to play that on the radio..." Otherwise I wouldn't be able to make a list!

Second Hand News - I think this was the first FM song I ever heard, and it's still one of my favorites.
The Chain
Say You Love Me
GYOW
Gypsy

Never heard Tusk, Sara, Hold Me or GDW on the radio.

seekerj 12-09-2011 05:58 PM

Any, except for Everywhere.

Yes... Dreams, Go Your Own Way, etc., all the ones that are considered overplayed, I can listen to them 24 hours a day.

But not Everywhere.

Artemis 12-09-2011 07:10 PM

Rhiannon, Go Your Own Way, You Make Loving Fun, Gypsy and Little Lies are all incredible driving songs.

Hey, you're cheating.:)I didn't know FM sang Trouble and Go Insane? And when were Come A Little Bit Closer, Spare me A Little & World Turning a heavily played radio track?

MacShadowsBall 12-09-2011 11:34 PM

I don't really listen to radio much, but as far as the songs that I could hear on the radio, I have to go with...

You Make Loving Fun
Gypsy
Say You Love Me
Sara

I've always thought that the simple structured type songs sound better on radio.

michelej1 12-10-2011 12:55 PM

Probably Hold Me.

Though, I think I would get tired of hearing too many radio or record versions of any song, but live I can never get enough of GYOW, GDW, SYLM and OMH.

Second Hand News.

it's been about 2 years now since i heard it on the radio for nth time while we were on our way to buy a xmas tree... and i decided i don't want to always keep waiting for SHN to come up on the radio, and should instead buy something with that song on it... and that i need to look up what other music that Lindsey Buckingham guy made. over the next few months it grew into addiction culminating during the time of SWS coming out and Lindsey's tour this fall.

Jim Ladd plays it quite often. I hear it on classic rock stations quite often. Cleveland too.

I used to hear it all the time in Rochester, on one of its two rock stations (WCMF), where the three big singles from the White album, Sugar Daddy, Landslide, and every Rumours track got heavy rotation. Less often I'd hear some Tusk and Mirage tracks. Still less, but occasionally, Hypnotized. Once I heard Heroes are Hard to Find and nearly **** myself. The DJ followed it up in the fade out by calling it "a classic." "Uncle Roger" sometimes used to play "Spare Me a Little," "Oh Well," "Station Man" on his late-night show once-a-week.

Macfanforever 12-12-2011 08:12 PM

I got stations like River 105.9 WHCN ,WDRC, WPLR plus easy listening stations that play FM oldies. I remember when SYW was released in 2003 WHCN treat us with Peacekeeper and SYW with good airplay.I hope when the next forthcoming FM cd will get the same treatment if it ever gets recorded.Again I never get tired hearing these tunes.

Which Oh Well? I hear "live" 1980 on KLOS.

GoldDustGypsy 12-23-2011 03:01 PM

I could honestly hear any FM played endlessly and never get tired of it. Sure, I like some songs more than others, but every time I hear any song of FM get played on the radio I get way more excited than I should.

None. Always happy when the radio plays Fleetwood Mac. Given the large volumes of crap out there that they typically play, someone with some real talent is a treat.
